Mr. Zhang Baiyong Persecuted to Death in Shandong Province
2005-11-11
Mr. Zhang Baiyong was arrested several times for distributing leaflets exposing the persecution. During his detention, he suffered all kinds of torture. In the winter, the police handcuffed him outdoors and poured cold water on him. In the summer, the police put him in a public marketplace and exposed him to the boiling hot sun. The police hired a local vagabond to beat him mercilessly with a two-inch thick club until the club broke. When he was detained in Weifang, he personally witnessed the police beat a young male practitioner to death. In 2004, he had the symptoms of black adenoma cancer. He died at Changyi City Hospital on March 17th, 2005. -
How the 610 Office Persecuted a 68-Year-Old Man to Death
2005-11-10Mr. Li Peiyi from Anhui Province was 68 years old. Mr. Li went to Beijing to appeal to the government to stop persecuting Falun Dafa. He was arrested and sent to a labour camp. The labour camp refused to accept him because of his old age. However, the police extorted more than 5,000 yuan from him before releasing him. Then the 610 Office detained him in a brainwashing centre four times, tortured him in a mental hospital once, and detained him in a detention centre twice. Mr. Li died in March 2005. -
Older Hunan Practitioner Ms. Zhang Yunlan Dies After Long-Term Persecution
2005-11-1052-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Yunlan was sentenced to two years of imprisonment in February 2004 for telling the facts of Falun Dafa to people who had been misled by the government propaganda, and was imprisoned in the notorious Baimalong Forced Labour Camp. In a single year, she was tortured to such an extent that she began to become mentally disoriented. Even after Ms. Zhang was released for medical treatment, the 610 Office coerced her son into spying on her and torturing her. Ms. Zhang Yunlan tragically passed away in October 2005. -
Four Dafa Practitioners in Sichuan Province and Chongqing City Passed Away Due to Persecution
2005-11-10In December 1999, the police searched 59-year-old Mr. Tang Xiangshui's body, roughly handcuffed him, detained him, and cruelly persecuted him. Later, they notified the Public Security Department at his workplace to take him back and continue to persecute him. The Public Security Department extorted five hundred yuan from him, threatened him, forced him to write a guarantee statement to give up practising Falun Dafa and searched his home. The Public Security Department at his workplace came to his house and fiercely pounded on the door. They harassed him for an extended period and monitored his phone conversations. Tang's body and mind were severely harmed and his illnesses recurred. Tang Xiangshui passed away on the morning of July 6th, 2004. -
Ms. Cao Yue Dies After Being Tortured in Wanjia Forced Labour Camp
2005-11-08Ms. Cao Yue, a practitioner was arrested twice. Because she refused to be "transformed," to write a guarantee statement, and to recite the prison regulations, the prison guards hung Ms. Cao and other practitioners in a "small cell" and shocked them with electric batons. After she was released in 2002, she was very weak and often had severe stomachaches. She passed away in September 2005. -
After Mother Dies and Father Forced to Leave Home, Fourteen-Year-Old Sun Feng Passes Away
2005-11-07Sun Feng was the second son of Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Xiuxia, who was tortured to death in 2003. After suffering the hardship of losing his mother at the age of twelve, he was also worried about the safety of his father, as his father was forced to leave home to avoid being arrested. He was living in terror, which severely damaged his mental state and his body. He became very quiet and withdrawn ever since then. At the end of December 2004, he became very weak and was diagnosed with leukemia. He passed out many times and was sent to the hospital for emergency rescue. Sun Feng died in August 25th, 2005. -
Elderly Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Zhang Weiyun Died as a Result of Persecution
2005-11-0762-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhang Weiyun from Henan Province died on October 26th, 2005 as a result of abuse by police officers from the State Security Division of the Zhengzhou City Railroad Police Department. Mr. Zhang's son once warned the police, "My father was already tortured during detention, and cannot be frightened any more. Stop harassing us from now on!" Wang Zhaoli and the other officers never paid attention to his warning. Mr. Zhang's condition worsened and rescue effort failed. -
Five Female Dafa Practitioners Die as a Result of Persecution
2005-11-07Mrs. Zhou Yafan, 45, lived in Jilin Province. She worked as a kindergarten assistant. She began practising Falun Gong in 1996. On August 25th, 1999, police broke into her home and confiscated her Dafa materials. Mrs. Zhou was sent to a brainwashing session in September. Later that month, she went to appeal in Beijing and was sentenced to one year of forced labour. When she was released a year later, police kept her under constant surveillance. Police would question her whenever she left home. Unable to bear any longer such long-term mental pressure, Mrs. Zhou died of a heart attack on May 24th, 2005. -
Ms. Jia Guilan Dies of Grief Because Her Daughter and Son-in-Law Were Persecuted to Death
2005-11-06Mr. Sun Jihong was the former chief of the local police station of the Huanan Forestry Bureau Public Security. Because he persisted in his belief of "Truth, Compassion, Forbearance," he was abducted and detained many times. On September 25th, 2002, Mr. Sun was kidnapped once again and imprisoned in the Yuquanying Crossing-Bridge Place in the Fengtai District of Beijing. On September 29th, 2002, after four days, he was tortured to death by police. His body was gruesome. There was a hole between his eyebrows and two holes in his cheeks. His whole body was covered with cuts and bruises. -
Couple from Hebei Province Are Sill Being Persecuted
2005-11-06In November 2004, a Dafa practitioner couple, Ren Haiquan and Zhang Jinying, was arrested from home without cause, and detained. They were sent to a brainwashing centre and have not been released as of today. The Village Party Secretary asked his two relatives to go and monitor them, and paid them 20 Yuan per person per day. This expense was shouldered by the village residents. Because of the extended period of time and the large sums of money involved, it resulted in a sizable burden for the local residents. In this way, hatred was stirred up among local residents towards Dafa and Dafa practitioners. -
Additional Information on the Death of Mr. Xu Zhicheng from Hegang City
2005-11-05It has now been confirmed that Mr. Xu Zhicheng, a practitioner in his 40s from Heilongjiang Province, was arrested on September 26th, 2005. He was unconstitutionally detained for three days and sent to Hegang City Second Detention Centre, where he was persecuted to death on October 2nd. Mr. Xu Zhicheng's body is being kept in the Dissection Room in the Second Detention Centre. His face and body have many areas of apparent injury. His nose and lips were stained with blood, and there were blood-spattered wounds on his body. The police destroyed the cameras belonging to Mr. Xu's family members when they tried to take photos for evidence. Mr. Xu's family refused to cremate him and is appealing. -
Eight Practitioners from Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Henan and Hebei Provinces Died Due to the Persecution
2005-11-05Mr. Nie Xinyi was an employee of the Kaiyuan Industry and Commerce Bank in Xingtai City, Hebei Province. Once the persecution began, he was repeatedly reported. The bank president intimidated him and forced him to go to a brainwashing centre. In September 2000, the bank president convinced him to go to a hospital for treatment. He was discharged from the hospital in October, his condition deteriorating rapidly; his life could have ended at anytime. In February 2001, with the support of fellow practitioners, Mr. Nie started to practise Falun Dafa again. In April 2005, bank leaders persecuted him again simply because he refused to pay the CCP membership dues. On May 28th, he started to cough and developed generalised oedema. His past illness recurred and he passed away. -
Four More Falun Gong Practitioners Who Have Died From Persecution
2005-11-05Mr. Wang Lixiang, in his 40s, died in February 2004. Shortly after he started to practise Falun Gong, his spleen cancer completely disappeared. On July 15th, 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong but was taken back by the police and held in a detention centre for further persecution. His fingers were beaten until they were deformed. He was forced to sleep on the cement floor until he was released in 2001. After that, he was frequently harassed by the local police as well as his employer. Because of this constant harassment and the lack of a peaceful cultivation environment, his illnesses returned and caused his death. -
Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Yuan Shengjun From Henan Province Beaten to Death by Police
2005-11-0442-year-old Mr. Yuan Shengjun was sentenced to six years in prison on October 7th, 2005. After about two weeks, he was beaten to death by the police at the 610 Office. His body was full of wounds and bruises. There was not a single patch of skin intact on his body, and congealed blood can be seen underneath the skin. The body was in a wretched condition. Yuan Shengjun's family demanded an autopsy but the police refused. The next day the police secretly cremated the body before his family could look at it. He left behind his mother in her 80s, his wife and his 13-year-old son. -
Older Practitioner, Ms. Du Jinglan, Tortured to Death at Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison
2005-11-04Ms. Du Jinglan was 55 years old and lived in Heilongjiang Province. She was arrested at her home in 2002, sentenced to seven years of prison time, and incarcerated at the Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison. She was tortured until she was paralysed and totally incontinent. She often passed out, and her blood pressure was once as high as 250 mm. On October 24th, 2005, Ms Du Jinglan was sent to the hospital in an unconscious state. She died at 4:00 a.m. on October 27th.
