Dafa practitioner Duan Shiqiong endured more than a year of incarceration, gross abuse, torment and persecution in the Chengdu City Detention Centre. None of her family members received any information about her during that period. Even in the final moments of her life, Chengdu City Detention Centre officials still did not inform her family. When her husband saw her body, it was impossible for him to recognise his wife. Her face looked completely different. She only weighed about 50 lbs. -

2004-01-20Cui Ningning insisted on unconditional release and had the courage to uphold her belief in Truthfulness - Compassion - Tolerance, which cost her her life. Afraid to take responsibility, the police released her on July 18, 2003. Eleven days after her release, Cui Ningning died at home. -

2004-01-20Due to the brutality of their methods, the tube didn't always feed into the oesophagus but also went down the trachea. This vile method of torture damaged her lungs tremendously and caused her to cough constantly. She suffered from extreme pain in her lungs and grew thinner and thinner. To shirk their responsibility, the detention centre claimed that she had contracted tuberculosis, and asked her family to obtain a medical parole for her and take her home. 2004-01-20Labour camp police took Dafa practitioners, mostly female, to two different tents sites for torture every day. The police officers dug a hole about 2.5 feet by about 5.5 feet deep in a vegetable field. In an attempt to persuade the practitioners to give up their belief, they would throw one practitioner in the hole and threaten to bury her alive. They even buried some Dafa practitioners up to their necks, leaving only their heads above ground. -

After family members' many attempts to secure his release and under pressure from the strong protest and condemnation of many people seeking justice, on the night of December 26, 2003, the Jiamusi City Police Department sent Ma Xuejun home on a stretcher, put him down, and left, shirking the responsibility for his condition. Immediately after the abortion, even though her body was extremely weak and still bleeding, Mrs. Luo was taken to the Guangxi Women's Forced Labour Camp. -
Atrocities Committed Behind the Scenes at the Baimalong Labour Camp
2004-01-19The prison guards kept telling her family members how Ms. Hu was "against the government" and how well the forced labour camp treated her by giving her injections of albumin and spending more than ten thousand Yuan on her in medical expenses, and so forth. At that time, Ms. Hu Yuehui could not remember anything at all, but only could say "It is not wrong to practise (Falun Gong) exercises!" Her family members thought what the guards said was true.
