Three Falun Gong Practitioners in Shenyang City Facing Unjust Trial

Kangping County People's Court in Shenyang City, Jilin Province, have decided to put three Falun Gong practitioners on trial. On November 12th, 2009, several police broke into the homes of Ms. Wang Jinfeng, Mr. Wang Xuekun and Mr. Li Xiaoping. With out showing any identification, the police arrested these three Falun Gong practitioners, ransacked their homes, and took away their computers, printers and other personal property. Ten days passed since the three practitioners' arrest, and the policemen still did not send any detention statements to their families. Their families went to Kangping County Domestic Security Division asking for their whereabouts. Nevertheless, upon arrival, commander Jiang Lijun refused their request to see their loved ones. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Zhao Lunxian Persecuted by Police
2010-02-19Falun Gong practitioner Zhao Lunxian was arrested by the police on January 26th, 2010 and is currently detained at the Jiamusi City Detention Centre. In 1999, Zhao Lunxian was deprived of the opportunity of working at school after graduation by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials in Jiamusi University because he practised Falun Gong. In June 2002, the police monitored his home phone and then arrested him and ransacked his home. Zhao Lunxian was sentenced to two years' forced labour. At the forced labor camp, the police subjected him to brainwashing and forced him to write statements giving up practising Falun Gong. He was tortured physically and mentally. His wife was forced to become homeless and destitute. -
Elderly Lady Is Repeatedly Arrested and Her Home Ransacked
2010-02-18Since April 25th, 1999, Ms. Zhang Guifang has been arrested four times and her home has been repeatedly ransacked. Her two sons, daughter-in-law and sister have also been victims of the persecution. Ms. Zhang's daughter-in-law has been arrested several times. When she was nearly seven months pregnant, police officer Wan Jucai, a group of officers from the local police station and people from the neighbourhood residential committee broke into her home and took her to the Dongmen Family Planning Hospital, where she was forced to have an abortion. Ms. Zhang's older son worked at the Parole Division of the Yinchuan Public Security Bureau. Because he practised Falun Gong, his salary was withheld and he was put on forced leave. He changed his job twice but was fired from both. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Sentenced to Four Years in Prison in Shandong Province
2010-02-18In early September 2009, Ms. Li Renzhi, a kind and honest practitioner, was arrested and detained at Penglai City Police Station after her home was ransacked by the city's state security police. During her detention, the police tried to extort a confession by torturing her, not letting her sleep for four days and not permitting her family to visit. On December 18th, 2009, Penglai City Court sentenced her to a four-year prison term. Recently, she was transferred to Jinan Prison. -
Police Extract Confessions by Torture from Educator Liu Zhenming
2010-02-18Mr. Liu Zhenming is former deputy principal of the First Shiyan School and recipient of the awards "Excellent Teacher in Taian City" and "Excellence in Teaching." He started to practise Falun Gong in March 1996 and gained great physical and mental benefits. He conducted himself according to the principles of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. Over the past ten years, Mr. Liu has been sent to brainwashing centres twice, held in administrative detention once, detained for criminal charges twice and held in a forced labour camp once. In September 2009, police officers from the Taishan District Domestic Security Division arrested him. Police forced him to sit on a metal chair, to which they cuffed his arms and legs. They even forced him to wear a steel helmet that was too small. He felt like his temples were being pricked. -
The Persecution of Ms. Ye Huiming, Teacher at Xinxiang City Judicial Officials' School in Henan Province
2010-02-18Ms. Ye Huiming, a teacher at Xinxiang City Judicial Officials' School, has been subjected to arrest, detention, and long-term surveillance. Since April 2008, Xinxiang Judicial Officials' School leaders have kept Ms. Ye and another retired employee practitioner under surveillance around the clock. They turned what were originally welfare fees into a "persecution fund," which is being used to award those who participate in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Every employee that monitors practitioners can obtain over 10,000 yuan from the persecution fund each year. -
Ms. Wang Yurong Dies Seven Days after Being Released from Detention
2010-02-17On September 10th, 2009, Ms. Wang Yurong was arrested upon returning home. The police ransacked her home and detained Ms. Wang in the Lingyun Hotel under 24-hour close monitoring. The police hired assistants to stay in the same room and bring food to Ms. Wang every day. Only five days later, Ms. Wang appeared mentally confused, and she often bumped her head against the wall. It is very possible that drugs were put in her food. On September 15th, the Weibin District Police Department notified Ms. Wang's husband to come pick her up and bring her home. She died on September 22nd, just seven days after her release. -
Elderly and Disabled Practitioners Are Persecuted in Maoming City, Guangdong Province
2010-02-1777-year-old Mr. Chen Binggan has suffered from persecution. He recounts: "Since the persecution began in 1999, I have been arrested more than 20 times, held for a total of over 1,500 days. My residence has been searched and ransacked over a dozen times. The first time, the town government officials asked me if I practised Falun Gong. After I replied positively, they arrested me. Later, I was arrested numerous times, even when I was sleeping in my bed. Since I knew that I had not done anything wrong by following Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, I refused to submit to the vicious pressure from the government; I refused to write any statement to denounce Falun Gong. I have been tortured many times. The tortures that I suffered include being hung up and brutally beaten." -
Ms. Wei Congnai from Zezhou County Imprisoned at Shanxi Province Women's Prison
2010-02-17Ms. Wei Chonnai, 59, was arrested on July 25th, 2009, for distributing Falun Gong fliers in Lailing Village. Ms. Wei was first detained at the Jincheng City Detention Centre and then transferred to the Zezhou County Detention Centre a month later. On October 2009, the Zezhou Court secretly tried Ms. Wei. The court secretly sentenced Ms. Wei to three years in prison on November 3rd, 2009. When Ms. Wei's family finally got the news, the deadline for requesting an appeal had already passed. On January 6, 2010, the family went to the Zezhou County Detention Centre to visit Ms. Wei, but she had already been transferred to the Maoerling Prison. -
Free Mr. Li Tianjing, an Innocent Man
2010-02-17Two lawyers defended Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Tianjing during a court trial on the morning of January 15th, 2010. The lawyers from Beijing and Henan demanded the immediate release of Li because belief in Falun Gong is not a crime. On July 18th, 2009, Mr. Li Tianjing was arrested in Hefei City by Liuan City police. To protest the detention, he went on a hunger strike. After an extended time, he became very weak. The police chained his hands and feet while he was held in a small room at the Shou County Chinese Medicine Hospital, and they tortured him by force-feeding him and injecting drugs into him. As a result, Mr. Li could not walk for days. On September 30th, 2009 he was transferred to Shou County Detention Centre. -
Paralytic Fully Recovered After Cultivating Falun Gong Repeatedly Persecuted for Speaking the Truth
2010-02-16Practitioner Mr. Zhang Chengyou was arrested by police on March 11th, 2002, for obtaining Falun Gong recent articles. They tied him to a tiger bench for 16 hours. At another time rope was used to pull him up and hang him from an iron pipe above the tiger bench. They placed an iron plate in front of his chest so that the he could not move, and it caused extreme pain to his arms and wrists. Mr. Zhang's face was streaming with sweat. After a long period of time, officer Meng Qinglong opened his handcuffs. He no longer could move his arms, and his hands were numb for more than a month. Nonetheless they handcuffed his hands behind his back while taking him to the City Police Bureau. -
Ms. Zhang Chengmei Dies in Wancun Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province
2010-02-16On December 8th, 2009, police broke into Ms. Zhang Chengmei's home and arrested her. They confiscated Falun Gong books and materials and stole the key to her home. In the afternoon, they ransacked her home again, this time confiscating money found in her drawer. Ms. Zhang was detained at the County Detention Centre, sentenced to forced labour before New Year's Day, and taken to the Wangcun Forced Labour Camp. She died around February 3rd, 2010. -
Chaoyang City Beita District Police Arrest Ms. Tang Lijin and Ransack Her Home
2010-02-16Ms. Tang Lijin's son contacted police officer Mu Yang on January 28th, 2010. His employer required him to have an official seal on certain documents. Mu Yang didn't process his request, but instead took Ms. Tang's son to Ms. Tang's home and ransacked it. Mu Yang broke into Ms. Tang's home without a warrant, or giving any reason. They shouted, "Search, and find the equipment!" Mu and Gao threw things everywhere, making the room a big mess. Mu found several copies of Falun Gong books, thinking he would get an opportunity to be rewarded and promoted, and reported his findings to his superior. The Beita Police Department dispatched two more officers and took Ms. Tang to the police department's basement, where victims are tortured to extract confessions. -
An Odd Thing Happened in Wafangdian
2010-02-16Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yu Xichun was reported by district security when he was posting information with the facts about Falun Gong in Fangyuanxincun on December 21st, 2009. He was taken away by police. Four officers ransacked his home on December 22nd. The police confiscated Mr. Yu's Falun Gong books and materials. He is currently detained in the Wafangdian Detention Centre. Yu Xichun changed dramatically in 2006 when everyone, including his family, believed he was hopeless. He was detained at the Dalian City Forced Labour Camp for stealing in 2006. The noble actions of Falun Gong practitioners detained in the labour camp touched Yu Xichun's heart. So he began cultivating Falun Gong at the Dalian City Forced Labour Camp. -
Mr. Xian Chunwei from Qingzhou City, Shandong Province, Sent to Forced Labour Camp
2010-02-15On June 5th, 2009, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xian Chunwei, a Falun Gong practitioner was beaten and detained by police officers and later taken to the Qingzhou Brainwashing Centre. They also confiscated all the money he had with him. At the brainwashing centre Mr. Xian was forced to sit on an iron chair. They tied his hands together behind the chair and put a chain around his feet so he was unable to move. He was kept like this for 35 days, during which time police officers watched over him to prevent him from sleeping. If he closed his eyes, they would beat him.
