  • Ms. Sun Tao Arrested, a Friend Barely Avoids Arrest

    Since the beginning of 2012, the Hebei Province 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) has dispatched police officers at all levels to monitor Falun Gong practitioners by tapping phones, monitoring their comings and goings, and stalking. It was reported that they suspected Ms. Sun Tao delivered DVD cases for her friend during her school's winter break. On February 25th, about a dozen plainclothes officers suddenly appeared in force and took her away. Ms. Sun was transferred to the Shijiazhuang Second Detention Centre. Ms. Sun's friend, Ms. Qi Guoqin, who lives nearby, happened to pass by her car and say a few words to her, so Ms. Qi was also taken away.
  • Ms. Li Ruihuan from Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, Missing for Ten Years

    Ms. Li was arrested in Beijing in January 2002. Since that time, her whereabouts have been unknown. She was 55. In December 1999 and April 2000, Ms. Li and other Falun Gong practitioners went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. Upon her return home, she was arrested and detained by police. Ms. Li and other practitioners again went to Beijing, on January 14th, 2002, to appeal for Falun Gong. They shouted, “Falun Gong is good!” Ms. Li was never seen again. It was reported that Ms. Li had been beaten by the Beijing police so severely that she could not walk.
  • After Suffering Years of Relentless Persecution, Older Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Xu Jingxian Arrested Again

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xu Jingxian was arrested by officers from the Pozijie Police Station on March 30th, 2012, while she distributed leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong to people. She is being held in the Changsha City Detention Centre. In 2005, Ms. Xu and her family were arrested by police. Later, Ms. Xu was sentenced to three years in prison and jailed in Hunan Province Female Prison. While imprisoned there, she was forced to do slave labour for long hours every day. She was also tortured physically and mentally.
  • The Chinese Government Has Legalised “Enforced Disappearance”

    Recently, the Chinese government passed a new version of criminal law Article No. 73. Article No. 73 states that individuals who are suspected of jeopardising national security and being involved in terrorist activities can be monitored by the Public Security Bureau without notifying the suspect's family. People believe that Article No. 73 is a way of legalising “secret disappearance.” Under this revision, the rights of Chinese citizens are violated. The government agents or officials are not held responsible for their actions when enforcing the law. Ms. Jiang Sihua was in critical condition as a result of being tortured during her 'disappearance.' She was arrested on May 20th, 2008, and was missing for two months. Her family was unable to obtain any information about her.
  • Fourteen Falun Gong Practitioners from Jiaonan City, Shandong Province Arrested

    Since March, officers from Jiaonan City Political and Juridical Committee and the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) in Shandong Province have arrested fourteen Falun Gong practitioners. They have not allowed their family members to visit them, bringing great harm to those practitioners and their families.
  • Ms. Tang Lijuan Has Been Detained in Guangdong Province Women's Prison for Nearly Three Years

    In April 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Tang Lijuan, former Associate Professor of Party University in Heilongjiang Province, was arrested in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, and sentenced to three years in jail. On July 17th, 2009, she was detained in the Women's Prison of Guangdong Province. She is still being kept there. In 1999, the Chinese Communist Party started persecuting Falun Gong. Her son, Mr. Wang Zhehao, was arrested and detained in a labour camp several times. In 2004, he died because of the persecution. Ms. Tang's husband couldn't understand her, and he deserted her, resulting in her family being torn apart. Ms. Tang has been detained in jail for nearly three years.
  • Former Bank Vice President and His Family Persecuted by the Communist Regime

    Mr. Cheng Jiagui, who is 76 years old this year, is a former Vice President of China Construction Bank's Anlu City Branch in Hubei Province. All five members of his family suffered from severe illnesses, and Falun Gong saved their lives. They conducted themselves according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and strove to be responsible, good citizens. However, they were brutally persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
  • Over 50 Practitioners Arrested in Weifang City, Shandong Province Between January and March 2012

    The Chinese authorities have arrested over 50 Falun Gong practitioners in Weifang City, Shandong Province over a three-month period, from January to March 2012. Among them, thirteen are from Weifang, nine are from Changle County, nine are from Gaomi City, eight are from Shouguang City, six are from Changyi City, six are from Anqiu City, and six are from Zhucheng City and Qingzhou City. The number of practitioners who have been secretly arrested is likely much higher.
  • Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Yuan Jieling Returned to Brainwashing Centre

    On April 10th, 2012, Falun Gong practitioner Yuan Jieling from Gaozhou, Guangdong Province was taken from her home by government and police staff. Ms. Yuan Jieling began practising Falun Gong in 1998. She was weak and suffered from numerous diseases in the past, however, after following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, she quickly became healthy. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been persecuting Falun Gong since July 20th, 1999. Ms. Yuan was previously arrested on numerous occasions. She was given an extreme seven-year prison sentence in 2000 by the Gaozhou Court and held in Guangdong Province Women's Prison.
  • Once-Healthy Ms. Zhao Lerong Persecuted to the Point of Blurred Vision and Disorientation at Masanjia Women's Forced Labour Camp

    Ms. Zhao Lerong, 56, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Dalian, Liaoning Province. She was arrested and sent to Masanjia Women's Forced Labour Camp in late September 2010. She was subjected to various means of torture, which caused her to suffer from chronic insomnia, blurred vision, tightness in her chest, and shortness of breath. She became delirious and extremely weak.
  • Former Armed Police Force Captain Geng Dexin's Personal Account of Nine Years of Unjust Imprisonment

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Geng Dexin was an armed police force captain. In 2002, he was arrested and sentenced to nine years in prison. He was brutally tortured while at Deyang Prison and Wumaping Prison in Sichuan Province. He recounts: "I was taken to Miyi County Detention Centre and beaten, and my hands were kept handcuffed behind my back the entire night. I was viciously beaten by guards. Later on, I went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. On the fifth day, I was brutally force-fed. They pried my mouth open using a pincer and poured liquid food down my throat."
  • Ms. Fu Liqiong Sent to Xinjin Brainwashing Centre in Chengdu

    On March 28th, 2012, the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Fu Liqiong and took her to Xinjin Brainwashing Centre, Chengdu City. Currently Ms. Fu's family cannot reach her or see her. Previously in a forced labour camp, Ms. Fu was frequently tied up, forced to drink concentrated salt water, brutally beaten, and humiliated. Because she persisted in practising the Falun Gong exercises, she was brutally beaten many times by many police and prisoners. She was often injured all over her body and her internal organs were also damaged, which left her in pain for several months.
  • Ms. Zhang Guihua from Xinhua County, Hunan Province, Arrested and Tortured

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Guihua was arrested on March 20th, 2012, by police as she was distributing materials exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. When Ms. Zhang was interrogated, division head Wang Hui and three other officers took turns to physically abuse her. They slapped her in the face and whipped her face and mouth with a wet cloth. They only stopped torturing her when they got tired and their hands hurt. Ms. Zhang's face was severely bruised and she was dazed. Ms. Zhang was taken to a detention centre and later to Baimalong Women's Forced Labour Camp for a one-year term.
  • Practitioners Persecuted by Officers from Renqiu Domestic Security Division in Hebei Province

    Mr. Gu Yalou, 32, went out to put up materials exposing the persecution of Falun Gong at 11 p.m. on August 10th, 2001. He was arrested at around midnight and taken to Beihan Police Station. The next morning, the police took him to Renqiu Domestic Security Division and told his family to bring 20,000 yuan in exchange for his release. When his family members went to the police station with the money to pick him up on August 14th, the head of the police station told them that Mr. Gu had died at around 7.30 p.m. while being interrogated on the 5th floor.
  • Harvesting Organs from Living Falun Gong Practitioners—“An Unprecedented Evil on This Planet”—Is Ongoing

    It has been said that the documents Wang Lijun turned in when seeking asylum at the United States Embassy in Chengdu City included evidence of Bo Xilai’s orders to harvest organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. Other evidence revealing the roles of Wang Lijun, Bo Xilai, and Zhou Yongkang in persecuting practitioners and taking part in the harvesting of organs from living practitioners was also reported by overseas media.
