Accounts of Harrowing Persecution at Sanshui Forced Labour Camp, Guangdong Province

Since the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20th, 1999, incomplete statistics have so far revealed that more than 1,000 practitioners have been persecuted in the Sanshui Forced Labour Camp. When Guard Lan Yuanhang saw Mr. Pan Zhihao practising the Falun Gong exercises from a video monitor on April 6th, 2010, he ordered inmates to drag Mr. Pan downstairs to the duty office and beat him. Su Jiashi burned his ears with a cigarette lighter. Due to the severe persecution, Mr. Pan became mentally unstable. Practitioners Mr. Chen Lixiong and Mr. Mai Mufa went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution when guards tried to force them to write guarantee statements to renounce practising Falun Gong. Guards then force-fed both of them. -
Jiangsu Province Women's Forced Labour Camp Virulently Persecutes Falun Gong Practitioners
2010-10-24Falun Gong practitioners have suffered persecution at the Jiangsu Province Women's Forced Labour Camp's Third Division for a long time. They have been physically abused by having to stand for long periods of time, not being allowed to rest, being beaten, or being subjected to other abuse. They were also limited in the amount of drinking water they could consume or forbidden to drink water at all. Ms. Xie Lihua was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labour. The inmates who monitored Ms. Xie grossly abused her. Sometimes several of them would lift her up and throw her to the floor. They would beat and scold her constantly. Ms. Xie's term was extended for refusing to give up her belief. -
Husband Sentenced to 10 Years of Imprisonment, Wife Arrested
2010-10-24Ms. Liao Yongge and Mr. Chen Yuhong, husband and wife, began to practise Falun Gong in 1998. Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials had sentenced Mr. Chen to 10 years of imprisonment in 2000 and to date he has not been released. Agents from the 610 Office [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong] arrested Ms. Liao when she was shopping for groceries on the morning of May 26th, 2010. The agents also ransacked her home. Ms. Liao was first held in a brainwashing centre, and within one month was transferred to the Xilin Detention Centre in Changzhou City and has been imprisoned there since. -
Teacher Ms. Liu Xia Persecuted in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp
2010-10-24Ms. Liu Xia is a good teacher, and her students and their parents like her very much. She has been persecuted for 11 years for practising Falun Gong. Now she is being held in Masanjia Women's Forced Labour Camp in Liaoning Province. When the division heads realized that their wrongdoing had been regularly exposed on the Minghui/Clearwisdom Falun Gong websites, they were infuriated. On August 3rd, they ordered Ms. Liu to come to their office. They punched and kicked her; hit her with their shoes; pinched her face, temples, and ears; and pulled her hair. They beat her so savagely that she was unconscious for five days. Her face was black and blue, and afterward her vision was impaired and her reactions were slow. They also extended her term by 50 days without going through any legal procedures. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Zhang Sifeng Taken to Brainwashing Centre Again
2010-10-24Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Mr. Zhang Sifeng has been arrested by the 610 Office [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong] and National Security Team of Hanyang District, Wuhan City multiple times. He has been detained in forced labour camps twice for one-year terms. He was also detained in Hubei Province Brainwashing Centre many times. On September 6th, 2010, Mr. Zhang Sifeng was again arrested by police. He was detained in Hubei Province Brainwashing Centre. His wife gave him 3,000 yuan for the medical treatment of his mother-in-law, but the money was taken by the police and government officials. -
My Two Years and Seven Months in Harbin Qianjin Forced Labour Camp
2010-10-23Ms. Gao Guofeng, a Falun Gong practitioner from Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province, was detained in the Harbin Qianjin Forced Labour Camp for two years because she wore a shirt that had three words--Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance--printed on it. While being detained, she was cruelly persecuted. Her life has been in danger twice. She recounts: "I was beaten black and blue all over my face by guards. I was tortured by being hung-up. They handcuffed me and hung me up, both of my arms stretched to the limit. I was not allowed to move or close my eyes. My arms felt sore and the handcuffs dug into my flesh. I fainted several times." -
Mr. Fan Qingjun Files Lawsuit Against Jidong Prison Guard He Xiaoqiang
2010-10-23Mr. Fan Qingjun was sentenced to seven years in prison in October 2003. He has been held at the No. 1 Division in Jidong Prison, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. Seven years of continuous persecution has caused his health to deteriorate. Prior to his imprisonment, he was in excellent health. Recently, Mr. Fan has filed a lawsuit against He Xiaoqiang, a prison guard at Jidong Prison. Mr. Fa says: "He Xiaoqiang instigated other inmates to beat, physically penalise, and abuse me on numerous occasions, which purposefully damaged my health." -
Mr. Wang Zechen, a Retired Prosecutor with the Beijing Procuratorate, Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison
2010-10-23Mr. Wang Zechen, 69, was a prosecutor at a subdivision of the Beijing Procuratorate. In 2009, he was sentenced to eight years in prison for practising Falun Gong. He is being detained at Qianjin Prison in Beijing. Mr. Wang was very healthy before his arrest. After many months of imprisonment, however, he became weak and his hair turned grey. During his imprisonment, he has been sent to a hospital for about 45 days as a result of ill-treatment in prison. After he was sentenced, his former employer stopped paying him his pension. -
Dalian City Court Officials Persecute Elderly Practitioner Ms. Sun Jingwen
2010-10-23Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Sun Jingwen, 64, from Dalian City was arrested in mid-December 2009 as she visited a friend at her home. Ganjingzi District Court officials sentenced her to a four-year prison term in early August 2010. Ms. Sun appealed, but the Dalian City Intermediate Court upheld the original sentence in late September. She has been held in the Yaojia Detention Centre since her arrest. -
Euphemistically Referred to as the "House of Love" by Corrupt Authorities, Nanjing Brainwashing Centre Continues to Cause Much Harm
2010-10-22The "House of Love" (a private brainwashing centre) is still doing its utmost to poison people against Falun Gong. With false compassion, this centre controls a group of so-called volunteers and collaborators, who are being used to brainwash and persecute Falun Gong practitioners. So-called "experts," such as Tang Guofang, the education head of the Jiangsu Province Forced Labour Bureau, and Lu Yangchun from Nanjing Culture Bureau have brainwashed the collaborators, who are former practitioners "transformed" [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] into "consultants" at the "House of Love." Their job is to implement the "brainwashing experience" and force Falun Gong practitioners to renounce practising Falun Gong. -
A Medical Doctor Praised by His Fellow Villagers Is Tortured by the Authorities
2010-10-22Mr. Zhou Wensheng, 32 years old, is a Falun Gong practitioner and medical doctor. On July 12th, 2009, police arrested Mr. Zhou. Over 700 of his fellow villagers, including the village leaders, signed a petition and took it to the local authorities, demanding his release. However, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials sentenced him to three years in prison. During Dr. Zhou's detention at the Zhaodong City Detention Centre, the local 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) instigated prison bully Zheng Yongbo to torture him. Zheng poked his fingers in Zhou's eyes and hit him in the face until it was covered with blood. When he arrived at the detention centre, Mr. Zhou weighed over 155 pounds; now he weighs less than 120. -
Circumstances Surrounding Ms. Zhang Chengmei's Death Due to Torture in Wangcun No. 2 Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province

When Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang was taken to Wangcun No. 2 Women's Forced Labour Camp she was healthy and sturdy. When I saw her a little over a month later, she had become emaciated and was unrecognisable. After my release, I asked about Ms. Zhang. Later I learned that she had died in the labour camp hospital on February 6th. When her family saw her body, they noticed that her teeth were missing, and her arm was broken. When she died, she was nothing but skin and bones. The police did not allow her family to take pictures and hastily had her cremated. -
The Persecution of Mr. Ye Wenxin, a Well-Known Bully Who Had Become a Good Person After Practising Falun Gong
2010-10-22Mr. Ye Wenxin, around 40 years old, was well-known, years ago, as a good-for-nothing layabout in the area who even dared to beat his parents. He was such a bully that no one dared to challenge him. Once he began practising Falun Gong in 1997, he began to conduct himself according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and became a much kinder and gentler person. Nevertheless he was repeatedly subjected to persecution. In 2008, Mr. Ye was taken to and held in the Fuda Detention Centre for his third incarceration. While there, he was brutally beaten, handcuffed, and forced to do slave labour. -
Mr. Li Zhigang in Critical Condition as a Result of Persecution at Hulan Prison in Heilongjiang Province
2010-10-21Mr. Li Zhigang's family received a notice from Hulan Prison Hospital about Mr. Li's critical condition on September 26th. Chen Weiqiang, a staff member from the Education and Reform Section, met with Mr. Li's family and threatened them, saying, "Don't put this news on the Internet. There will be no visitation if you come with any Falun Gong practitioners." Police broke into Mr. Li's home in February 2009. Police they brutally tortured him to force him to "confess" to crimes. They shackled him to a metal chair, and then yanked his arms upward from behind until he was sweating profusely from pain. They poured mustard water into his nostrils and beat and kicked him. -
Crimes Committed by Li Fenglin, Head of the Yushu City 610 Office in Jilin Province
2010-10-21Li Fenglin, head of the Yushu City 610 Office in Jilin Province, arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Chen Shujie. Police sent her to Xinglongshan brainwashing centre in Changchun. She staged a hunger strike until she was at the brink of death. Her family strongly protested. Li Fenglin told the brainwashing facility officials to release her, fearing responsibility for her death. After Ms. Chen returned home, Li Fenglin told her employer to force her to write a guarantee statement to renounce practising Falun Gong, or she would be forbidden to work.
