  • Song Huilan, a Farmer from Heilongjiang Province, Arrested and Persecuted Again

    Police locked up Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Song Huilan in Huachuan County Detention Centre on December 13th, 2010. She protested by going on a hunger strike, and she eventually became very weak. Guards tied her to a bed and stretched her limbs out in different directions. She was immobilized, and then force-fed. Every day they inserted a thick tube down her throat twice. Each time they poured food down her throat three times. The pain in her stomach was unbearable, and she spat up blood and lost two teeth. Once while savagely force-feeding her, they punched her in the head.
  • Practitioner from Yunnan Province Recounts Persecution

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xue Huili was detained in a forced labour camp by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and lost her job. She recounts: "At the camp, guards forced me to write statements to renounce practising Falun Gong and demanded that I give up practising Falun Gong. They also told me that I needed to write to the agency where I worked, to let them know that I had given up the practice, and that I wanted to keep my job. I did not give into their demands. I spoke to the leader of my agency about keeping my job, but to no avail. My husband couldn't cope with the pressure, so he divorced me."
  • Falun Gong Practitioners Persecuted by the Wuhan Railroad Bureau

    Song Yushan is the former instructor of the Wuchang Criminal Police Section, Wuhan Railroad Public Security Bureau. Since the persecution of Falun Gong began, Song Yushan has been detained, his home has been ransacked, he was removed from his post, and has changed his job. He was taken to Zhujiawan Brickyard Brainwashing Centre and Hankou Shenghuo Section Brainwashing Centre to try and force him to stop practising Falun Gong. He was then sent to the Wuchang construction section.
  • The Miserable Childhood of an 11-Year-Old Girl

    Eleven-year-old Qing Qing no longer wants to go to school. To get out of going, she has even tried to run away from home. It isn't the studying that she fears—actually, that's far from it. What happened in school still makes her tremble with fear to remember. One day in 2008, Qing Qing's teacher asked her to go to her office with her. Several strangers were waiting for her. They asked her questions about her mother, Ms. Hu Huifang, a Falun Gong practitioner. While Ms. Hu Huifang was teaching a class at the winter camp police charged into the classroom and detained Ms. Hu. That was the last day Qing Qing saw her mother.
  • The Persecution Suffered by Wuhan Falun Gong Practitioner Zhang Wei

    Zhang Wei is a Falun Gong practitioner from Wuhan City. Since the Jiang Zemin Jiang Zemin, [former leader of China and instigator of the persecution] regime started the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in 1999, Mr. Zhang has been repeatedly detained and interrogated. His home was ransacked, he was detained at a brainwashing centre, and he was even sentenced to forced labour.
  • Falun Gong Practitioners Tortured in Shandong First Women's Forced Labour Camp

    Because Ms. Zhang Bangyun refused to give up Falun Gong, the guards instigated criminal offenders to beat her and monitor her every move. Guard Feng Sai ordered prisoner Wang Youmin to beat Ms. Zhang until she could not get up and was crying and screaming. One time Wang hit Ms. Zhang until she vomited blood and had bruises all over. Guard Sun Xiufeng laughed at Ms. Zhang and told her that she deserved it because she refused to listen to the guards and give up her practice. Sun even ordered the guards not to give Ms. Zhang food. Ms. Zhang used to be healthy before coming to the camp. She lost her sanity after being tortured relentlessly from October 2007 to May 2008. The guards later took her away and no one has heard from her since.
  • Minzu University Instructor Tortured to the Verge of Death

    Ms. Liang Bo, an instructor at Minzu University, was arrested by the Haidian District Police of Beijing in May 2010. She was beaten and tortured in police custody, which caused her thoracic cartilage to bleed and fracture. She was comatose multiple times and was temporarily unable to walk. Ms. Liang reportedly now weighs only 30 kilograms and her blood pressure has dropped to 40/60. She has a fever every day. She also has high blood viscosity, which causes a high risk of stroke. Ms. Liang Bo is currently detained at the Beijing Second Detention Centre.
  • Ten-year-old Yang Yang Severely Traumatised by His Mother's Torture Death and Ongoing Harassment by the Authorities

    “My mum is a good person. Don’t arrest her. I’m still young; I need her.” These were the words Yang Yang, a ten-year-old boy, said with tears in his eyes as he watched his mother, Ms. Sun Yuhua, being arrested and taken away by police. Yang Yang's family were true to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and wanted to be a good person, she was viciously persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). In 2001, she had to leave her home for a time to avoid arrest. During that period, Yang Yang rarely saw her. In 2002, Ms. Sun was arrested again and was beaten to death Liaoning Province Women’s Prison in April 2003.
  • Update: Details on the Death of Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Zhou Yong in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province

    On September 29th, 2001, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhou Yong was arrested at home by two policemen. They did not show any identification and ransacked Mr. Zhou's home. He refused to go with them. It was said Mr. Zhou fell from his sixth floor apartment. A guard at the hospital gate said that Mr. Zhou was still struggling to free himself from the stretcher as he was carried into the hospital. He died that same night. About an hour before the incident, Mr. Zhou was talking to a friend and seemed to be perfectly fine. Leaders at Mr. Zhou's workplace ordered the staff to tell people that Mr. Zhou had died of natural causes. They did not allow any memorial service or obituary notice for Mr. Zhou.
  • Two Family Members Persecuted to Death, Mr. Peng Liang Once Again Arrested

    On January 27th, the Public Security Bureau arrested Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Peng Liang and sent him to the detention centre. During the more than 11 years of persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), two of Mr. Peng's five family members have been persecuted to death, and his father was recently persecuted while at a brainwashing centre, until he became mentally unstable. Mr. Peng's sister, Ms. Peng Yan had also been jailed for three years for practising Falun Gong.

    Ten years ago in January 2001, I was wanted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) because I practise Falun Gong. In order to avoid the persecution I left my hometown and went to Beijing. Several of my relatives and friends were officials in the CCP’s Political and Judiciary Committee and public security system. Therefore, my family often received inside information from them. During our phone conversation that day, my family anxiously and repeatedly warned me, “Do not go to Tiananmen Square on Chinese New Year's Day. A relative who works as an official in the public security system said that Falun Gong practitioners would ‘set themselves on fire’ and that the government knows about the plan in advance and would wait in Tiananmen Square."
  • Ms. Bi Jianhong Unable to Walk As a Result of Persecution at Jinan Women's Prison in Shandong Province

    Jinan Women's Prison is persecuting Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Bi Jianhong. She is unable to walk and her life is in danger. Ms. Bi was arrested in October 2006 and sentenced to twelve years in prison. While in Jinan Women's Prison, Ms. Bi refused to renounce Falun Gong, and as a result the prison guards have subjected her to torture, including beating and kicking, sleep deprivation, exposure to severe cold during the winter, and being forced to stand for long periods of time with all the windows open during the winter. When Ms. Bi held a hunger strike to protest the persecution, the guards force-fed her a concentrated salt solution, and pressured her to "reform" [forcibly renounce Falun Gong].
  • Details of Mr. Gai Xiulong's Mistreatment at the Laiyang City Detention Centre in Shandong Province

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Gai Xiulong confronted 610 Office agents (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) after they arrested his relative during the 2008 Olympics Games. He was arrested and taken to the Laiyang Detention Centre, where he was savagely tortured until he was vomiting blood and near death. The guards then told his father, who had been tortured in another cell, to carry him to the detention centre office. Officials eventually pushed both father and son out the front gate. Gai Xiulong’s father was in his sixties and was weak after being brutally tortured, yet he had to carry his critically ill son home on his back.
  • Zhang Cuifen, 60, Sentenced to Forced Labour Camp for the Second Time--Her Son Disabled from Torture

    Since Jiang Zemin, [former leader of China] started the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, Ms. Zhang Cuifen, 60, and her family have often been harassed and threatened by police because they refuse to give up practising Falun Gong. In 2001, Ms. Zhang was sentenced to one year in Wanjia Forced Labour Camp. In 2002, she was sentenced to three years in Wanjia Forced Labour Camp. Also in 2002, Ms. Zhang's Falun Gong practitioner son fell from the third floor while trying to escape arrest by the police and his foot was disabled as a result
  • Mr. Zheng Libin Passed Away after Years of Brutal Persecution and Torture

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zheng Libin was brutally persecuted with beatings, electric shocks and forced-feeding by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), because he exposed the lies and deceitful tactics – specifically, a fabricated slanderous news story – used by the CCP to persecute Falun Gong. In order to keep the scandal quiet, the CCP brutally tortured Mr. Zheng, leaving him in critical condition several times. Zheng Libin passed away on June 1st, 2010, just 38 years of age.
