Chinese Spies in Finland Threaten the Acquaintances of Falun Gong Practitioners

My name is Jin Zhaoyu, and I live in northern Finland. In 2008, my mother Chen Zhenping was sentenced to eight years in prison for practising Falun Gong. She was sentenced by Jinshui District Court in Zhengzhou, Henan Province and she is currently incarcerated at Xinxiang Women's Prison in Henan. I have been appealing for my mother’s release and as a result, the Chinese government has been harassing me relentlessly. Chinese spies recently contacted one of my friends here in Finland. She was absolutely terrified. I want to let everyone know about this, hoping that people will extend a helping hand. -
Inquiry into Those Responsible for 55-Year-Old Ms. Wang Chunxiang's Death
2011-11-07Fifty-five-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Chunxiang from Dandong City, Liaoning Province, was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment in 2006. She was detained in the No. 9 Ward of Liaoning Province Prison and died as a result of torture in custody on September 25th, 2011. From arrest, detention, and sentencing to forced labour, Ms. Wang was persecuted every step of the way. Everyone who took part in persecuting her contributed to her death, and is a culprit who should bear responsibility. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Li Ronglan from Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, Is on a Hunger Strike to Protest Her Treatment
2011-11-07Ms. Li Ronglan was sentenced to Hohhot Women's Forced Labour Camp for two years in 2002 because she would not give up her belief in Falun Gong. When the guards were trying to “transform” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] her, they suspended her from a window or between two beds and did not let even the tips of her toes touch the ground. She was left like this for more than 45 days and nights. The guards often shocked her with an electric baton, slapped her face, and kicked her in the abdomen repeatedly until she lost consciousness. They also stuffed socks into her mouth and then sealed it with tape. The guards also instigated other inmates to brutally beat her. Ms. Li was arrested again on October 10th, 2011. She is now in Wudan Town Detention Centre and has begun a hunger strike. -
Factory Manager Mr. Zhou Jingcheng Faces Trial on Day 50 of His Hunger Strike Protest
2011-11-07Police arrested Mr. Zhou, 51, while he was telling others about the persecution of Falun Gong on the afternoon of August 20th, 2011. He was subsequently detained at the Ningxiang County Detention Centre. It has been 50 days since Mr. Zhou went on a hunger strike to protest his arrest and detention. He has developed hypoglycaemia and many other serious health problems. -
Wuhan City 610 Office Persecuted Falun Gong Practitioners Before the 100-Year Anniversary of Xinhai Revolution - Part 1
2011-11-06The 100-year anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution took place on October 10th, 2011. Shortly before the anniversary, the 610 Office in Wuhan orchestrated the arrests of nearly 90 Falun Gong practitioners in Wuhan. Practitioners were told to write guarantees to renounce practising Falun Gong. When they refused, they faced threats to be sent to a forced brainwashing centre or a detention centre. In some communities every Falun Gong practitioner was forced to write the guarantee. -
Judge Liang Yuncheng Transferred to Another Prison While in Critical Condition; His Present State of Health Unknown
2011-11-06Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liang Yuncheng was persecuted in Benxi City Prison and his condition was recently grave. His family went to the prison to visit him, but the prison authorities made it difficult and would not allow them to meet. In the end, the prison authorities agreed to allow a visit in three weeks. However, when the family came for a visit after three weeks, they were informed that Mr. Liang had been transferred to the Dalian City Prison. Mr. Liang has been repeatedly persecuted by the Chinese Communist regime for more than ten years because he refuses to give up practising Falun Gong. He has been arrested and detained many times and sent to forced labour camps twice. In 2006, he was cruelly tortured in Benxi Forced Labour Camp and Anshan Forced Labour Camp. -
Forced Labour and Violent Abuse in the No. 9 Ward of Liaoning Province Women's Prison
2011-11-06Sixty-year-old Ms. Ding Zhenfang was imprisoned in the No. 9 Ward of Liaoning Province Women's Prison for the second time in 2008. On August 1st, Ms. Ding was tortured to death for refusing to do hard labour and to be “transformed” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong]. Guards instigated criminal inmates to beat and torture her. According to the people who knew the situation, she was tortured to death when she was on a hunger strike. -
Mr. Meng Xianqiang Tortured in Zhangqiu Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province
2011-11-06Guard Wang often got an inmate Liu to force Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Meng Xianqiang to write a guarantee statement to renounce his belief. Liu once kicked Mr. Meng in the legs until they bled. Due to the long term torture, his throat was damaged and he had difficulty in breathing. But Wang still forced him to work. When Mr. Meng requested to see the doctor, Wang poured water over him, and then Wang and other guards took turns shocking Mr. Meng with high voltage electric batons. Wang also struck his face and head with the soles of his shoes. He said, “If you don't do your work well, we will harvest your organs while you are still alive.” -
Chief Accountant Ms. Hu Dongling from Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, Arrested and Tortured During Interrogation
2011-11-05While on a business trip on August 22nd, that night Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Hu Dongling visited practitioner Ms. Li Guiyun. Several police officers broke in and arrested her, Ms. Li, and six other practitioners who were also present. It was learned later that the police acted on tips received. During the arrest the police showered Ms. Hu with kicks and punches, leaving her bruised and with a severe injury to her lower back. When she refused to be led away, they dragged her outside and twisted her arms behind her back. After taking her to Baoquanling Police Department, the police tied Ms. Hu up to a metal chair, and Wang Fudong interrogated her through the night. -
Mr. Ma Zifu and His Wife from Songyuan City, Jilin Province, Covertly Sentenced to Lengthy Prison Terms
2011-11-05Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Ma Zifu and his wife, Ms. Hua Yuru were covertly sentenced to ten years and eleven years in prison, respectively for practising Falun Gong. Ms. Hua was arrested on January 29th, 2010, by police. Her husband, Mr. Ma, was arrested on October 26th, 2010. The couple was taken to the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. -
Elderly Ms. Sun Zhuoying Sentenced Again
2011-11-05Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Sun Zhouying, 64, was arrested on April 24th, 2011 and detained in the Pudong New District Detention Centre. It was heard that she was sentenced to five years in prison. Her family members were not informed about her trial and have not received any notification of a verdict or sentence. This is the second time that Ms. Sun has been sentenced to prison. She was also sentenced to a forced labour camp after serving the first prison sentence. -
Ms. Miao Huixia Held for Three Months, Her Husband Forced to Leave Home
2011-11-05On August 25th, police arrested Falun Gong practitioner Miao Huixia. Ms. Miao is being held at the Qingcheng Detention Centre. Her family members have been harassed and threatened, while her husband, Mr. Kou Ping, was forced to leave home. The couple was previously arrested in 2004. Ms. Miao was held at the Gansu Province Women's Labour Camp for one year and three months. Mr. Kou was sentenced to three years in prison. -
Shandong Province No. 1 Women's Forced Labour Camp Obstructs and Threatens Ms. Zhan Shuoxiu's Lawyers
2011-11-04Ms. Zhan Shuoxiu was arrested on August 27th, and sentenced to one and a half years of forced labour. Her family and friends hired two lawyers to request a review of her sentence, but Shandong Province No.1 Women's Forced Labour Camp officials have created difficulties and threatened the lawyers and Ms. Zhan's family. -
Wuhan City Authorities Plot to Indict Nine Falun Gong Practitioners
2011-11-04Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began to openly persecute Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, practitioners in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, have endured extreme persecution. According to incomplete statistics, approximately 100 local practitioners were arrested this year alone. Wuhan police seized seven practitioners on April 20th, 2011, and two more on May 5th. Wuhan City Police Department officials filed a request with the Wuchang District Procuratorate, ordering them to indict the nine newly arrested practitioners for violating the so-called “Article 300 of the Criminal Law.” -
Retired School teacher Ms. Yang Zefang from Sichuan Province Has Been Detained for More Than a Month
2011-11-04Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Zefang was arrested by police when she was shopping at a market. police took her to the Suining City Detention Centre. Ms. Yang was previously subjected to a one-year forced labour term in February 2009 for practising Falun Gong. She put in a “study class,” which was actually a brainwashing session for her in the Suining City Detention Centre. Two people were assigned to monitor her. She had no personal freedom. Every day, all the daily activities were focused on “brainwashing” her. Ms. Yang refused to comply with them, so they would not release her. Due to this abuse, she was greatly harmed both physically and mentally.
