  • Swedish Media Report: United Nations Special Rapporteurs Say Torture is Still Prevalent in China

    On December 2nd, 2005, several Swedish news networks carried a report by Reuters and the BBC saying that torture is still prevalent in China. The report said that according to Manfred Nowak, UN Special Rapporteur on torture, torture is prevalent in China and only when China undertakes major reform of its judicial system and achieves judicial independence will the situation of torture be controlled. Nowak was the first UN Special Rapporteur on torture to be invited to conduct an investigation of the issue of torture in China in ten years.
  • Norway: People Learn about Falun Gong on a Mountain Top in Stavanger

    On a Sunday at the beginning of October, we decided to go for a walk to Dalsnuten, a mountain in Stavanger. The purpose was to hike up the mountain and show hikers in the Stavanger area the five Falun Gong exercises. The feedback was positive and many people took the opportunity to study the posters we laid out closely.
  • United Kingdom: Falun Gong Practitioner Gives a Speech at a Seminar on Stop Violence to Women Hosted by Amnesty International

    On November 30th, Amnesty International hosted a seminar entitled ‘Stop Violence to Women’ at the London School of Oriental and African Studies. Falun Gong practitioner Mo Zhengfang was invited to give a speech about her own experience of the persecution by the Chinese Communist regime. Several related artworks were also displayed.
  • Germany: The People of Goettingen City have Learned that Falun Dafa is Good (2)

    Some young Falun Gong practitioners in Goettingen demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises and explained the facts about Falun Gong at the square in front of the old City Hall every day from 2001 to 2003. Their perseverance has resulted in a series of changes in Goettingen city. As an old saying goes, “Constant drips wear down the stone.”
  • Germany: Falun Gong has Taken Root in Goettingen City (1)

    Goettingen is a famous university town in Germany, home of one of Germany's top ten universities, which is also the one most steeped in history. From 2001 to 2003 several young Falun Gong practitioners demonstrated the exercises in Goettingen's Old Town Hall Square every single day and told people about China's persecution of Falun Gong.
  • Czech Republic: Seminar Condemning the CCP’s Domination

    On the afternoon of October 3rd, 2005, a seminar entitled Without the World of Communism was held in the Parliament Mansion of the Czech Republic. Marek Benda, a member of the Czech Republic Party, presided over the seminar as host. Honoured guests, seven experts and well-known figures made speeches at the seminar.
  • Switzerland: International Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance Art Exhibition Goes on Show in Dulliken

    Some of the artists in the exhibition were victims of the persecution. The pieces they produced depicted some of their experiences. Although some of the art work depicted torture and brutalities, every one of the paintings contains a sincere hope for an end to the persecution and a message that Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance will survive.
  • Sweden: A Thousand Lotus Flowers

    The Thousand Lotus Flowers exhibition was inspired by a Swedish girl, Evelina’s dream. The exhibition introduced the persecution of Falun Gong in China. It included five children’s stories of the persecution. The children were little Yuanyuan, Rongrong, Fadu, Kaixin and thirteen year-old Li Ying. There were pictures of little practitioners doing the Falun Gong exercises and folding paper lotus flowers. Also displayed were texts of the children's stories.
  • Germany: Falun Gong Practitioner’s Speech during the 'Fields of Shame' Exhibition in Hamburg

    "I was imprisoned for two years in a slave labour camp because I refused to renounce Falun Gong...We were forced to work from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily and received no payment. Bullying and torture are commonplace in forced labour camps and Falun Gong practitioners’ area treated worse than criminals...On April 15th 2003, I was cruelly tortured."
  • Scotland: Falun Gong Presentations in Two Scottish Schools

    At a Modern Studies Teachers’ Conference in Glasgow, practitioners set up a stall to raise awareness of the persecution of Falun Gong. Many of the teachers were keen to invite practitioners to come and talk to classes. Following on from this, two practitioners, one Western and the other Chinese, visited two schools to give a talk.
  • Germany: Anti-Torture Exhibition Staged by Falun Gong Practitioners in Dusseldorf Calling for Help to Stop the Persecution

    Before Hu Jintao arrived in Germany practitioners staged a anti-torture exhibition in front of Düsseldorf’s congress hall. Journalists at the nearby media centre saw the exhibition and were very interested. They approached the practitioners and learned about the truth and said they would cover the story about Falun Gong practitioners during Hu's visit.
  • Russia: Anti-Torture Exhibition in St Petersburg

    On the 19th of November 2005, Falun Gong practitioners in Russia staged an anti-torture exhibition in the square next to the Joelnalechika subway station in St Petersburg. They demonstrated the torture to reveal the cruel persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by the Jiang Zemin political group and the Communist Party of China.
  • EFGIC: Two Falun Gong Women Raped Amid UN Rapporteur Visit

    LONDON (EFGIC) — The European Falun Gong Information Centre (EFGIC) has learned of the November 25th rape in police custody of two Falun Gong women, ages 42 and 51. Shocking photos suggest the violent nature of at least one of the two rapes. The rapes, occurring only three days after the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture arrived in China for investigation, took place at the Dongchengfang Town Police Station in Tunzhou, Hebei.
  • Sweden: High School Students in Lerum Learn about Falun Gong

    Falun Gong practitioners were invited to a high school in Lerum to inform the students about Falun Gong during their lesson in religious knowledge. The students were also to try the five Falun Gong exercises. We were warmly welcomed by the staff when we visited the staff room before our presentation and some wanted to join and listen to our presentation.
  • Germany: The Most Serious Human Rights Violation in China at Present Is the CCP's Persecution of Falun Gong.

    At the invitation of IGFM (International Association for Human Rights), local Falun Gong practitioners held an anti-torture exhibition in Bonn, Germany from November 4th to the 6th to expose the brutal persecution of Falun Gong in China. On the opening day, reporters from the major media attended the press conference.
