Zhao Zhandong, current deputy director of the Dongning County Police Department in Heilongjiang Province, is an official in charge of the persecution of Falun Gong. He has destroyed many formerly happy families. Soon after the 2012 New Year, Zhao Zhandong personally arrested Mr. Miao Fujing after Miao accompanied the family members of seven arrested Falun Gong practitioners to ask for their release. -
Mr. Li Tuhan from Zhejiang Province Missing for Eight Years after Being Forced into Homelessness
2012-05-29Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Tuhan from Gongqian Village, Huzhen Town, Jinyun County, Zhejiang Province was sixty-four years old. He was forced to become homeless in 2004. Since then, his whereabouts are unknown. On July 20th, 1999, Mr. Li and other local Falun Gong practitioners went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. However, he was arrested and sentenced to two and a half years in the Shiliping Forced Labour Camp in Zhejiang Province. He rejected the brainwashing and refused to sign the “guarantee letter” to renounce practising Falun Gong. Therefore, the guards of the camp seriously persecuted him with methods such as locking him on a "tiger bench" continuously for 9 days and nights, -
Mr. Li Xuangang from Changsha County, Hunan Province Arrested at Work, Current Whereabouts Unknown
2012-05-29On April 9th, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Xuangang went to work and was arrested by police officers from the 610 Offices (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) of Changsha County, Hunan Province and Chibi City in Hubei Province. He is currently being detained in Chibi City, the exact location unknown. After the persecution began, Mr. Li Xuangang went to Beijing on July 20th, 1999 to appeal for Falun Gong. He was sentenced to four years in prison and a year of forced labour. Mr. Li Xuangang has been persecuted repeatedly over the past ten years for practising Falun Gong. -
Mr. Gao Zeng Denied Family Visits at Handan Forced Labour Camp
2012-05-29Thirty-one-year-old Mr. Gao Zeng is a Falun Gong practitioner in Chen'an, Handan City, Hebei Province. He was subjected to one and a half years of forced labour in October 2011, and is currently in the Handan Forced Labour Camp. Mr. Gao was physically abused and tortured in the forced labour camp. Several months have passed, and the authorities still forbid his family to visit him. Mr. Gao's wife repeatedly requested to visit her husband but the officials still turned her down, using the excuse that Mr. Gao refused to be “transformed” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong]. -
Elderly Qin Yuping from Heilongjiang Province Dies Seven Years after Her Son's Death as a Result of Persecution
2012-05-29Ms. Qin Yuping was the mother of Mr. Pan Xingfu, who was tortured almost to death in 2005 in Mudanjiang Prison and then died at home. In 2002, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) authorities sentenced him to five years in prison because he wouldn't give up practising Falun Gong. They were both Falun Gong practitioners. On April 7th, 2012, Ms. Qin passed away seven years after the loss of her beloved son. She was 72 years old. -
Ms. Zhang Xiuling Arrested by Police in Laishui County, Hebei Province
2012-05-26Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Xiuling was arrested by Laishui County police on April 23rd, 2012. Ms. Zhang began to practise Falun Gong in May 1999. Before that, she used to suffer from neurotic headaches, neck pain, peritoneal adhesions from an appendectomy, chronic arthritis, and irregular heartbeat. A month after she began the practice, all of her illnesses disappeared. Furthermore, her family conflicts were resolved after she followed Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Ms. Zhang used to be short-tempered and argued with her husband and daughter all the time. -

Zhao Xindong Mentally Ill After Persecution and Missing for Almost Three Years
2012-05-26Mr. Zhao started practising Falun Gong in 1998. In 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal to the government for the right to practise Falun Gong. He was arrested and taken to a labour camp. After being persecuted for a year in Tuanhe Labour Camp, he became mentally ill and couldn't take care of himself. In June 2009, he went missing. -
Wife Speaks Out Against Unjust Sentence of Mr. Tang Jian from Chongqing
2012-05-26Mr. Tang Jian was arrested at work five months ago and sentenced to a three-year prison term by the Nan'an District Court in Chongqing on March 16th, 2012. He is appealing to the Chongqing Fifth Middle Court. Mr. Tang's wife describes her pain on hearing her husband was sentenced: "Every cell in my body felt as though being torn apart. The pain was indescribable. My heart felt like it would explode, and blood rushed to my throat. I was not able to breathe and the smell of blood filled the air. I collapsed." She also said, "Mr. Tang Jian does not violate any laws. It is totally wrong to detain him and sentence him." -
Son Dies From Torture--Mother Not Allowed to View Remains Five Years Later
2012-05-26Five years ago, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Huang Fujun from Acheng District in Harbin City was tortured to death by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) police. His elderly parents lived in Guangxi Province and were not in good health. Mr. Huang's wife reluctantly bore the sorrow of his death alone and didn't tell her in-laws about her husband's death, fearing that they couldn't bear the pain of losing their son. In order to seek justice, she has refused to cremate her husband's remains. However, her in-laws continually ask about their son. Finally, she couldn't keep the news from them any longer and told Mr. Huang's family about his death. -
Police In Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province Confiscate Satellite TV Receivers to Prevent the Public from Learning the Truth
2012-05-26On the morning of May 3rd, Domestic Security Team Leader Chen Ju from the Qitaihe City Police Department in Heilongjiang Province led about ten people, including officers from the Domestic Security Team and Xincheng District Police Station, and personnel from the local Community Committee, to break into a few residents' homes and forcibly remove and confiscate their satellite TV receivers used to receive TV signals from overseas TV stations. -
Older Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Yin Jinmei from Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province Dies As a Result of Persecution
2012-05-26Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yin Jinmei suffered severe persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) including detention and forced drug administration. After she was released from the Nanchang Women's Forced Labour Camp in Jianxi Province, she was extremely weak, short of breath, had a poor appetite and could not sleep. She died on May 9th, 2012. -
Eight Practitioners in Liaoning Province Facing Persecution
2012-05-26The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), in collaboration with the Donggang Police Department in Liaoning Province, arrested eight Falun Gong practitioners during a one-month period between March and April, 2012. The practitioners were subsequently taken to forced labor camps or sentenced to prison. -
Law Professional Jin Yijun Appeals Forced Labour Sentence
2012-05-26On December 7th, 2011, Ms. Jin Yijun went to Lanzhou Prison to pick up practitioner Shao Yanbo, who had been incarcerated for eight years. She was followed and arrested by police. Her home was also ransacked. On January 5th, a lawyer was engaged, but that same day, the police manipulated the Labour Re-education Committee in Lanzhou City and took Ms. Jin Yijun to forced labour. On the afternoon of January 6th, the police secretly transferred her from the First Detention Station in Lanzhou City to the Gansu Province Women's Forced Labour Camp for one year of forced labour. Jin Yijun told her family clearly that she would appeal the forced labour sentence. -
Mr. Wu Guangwan of Ziyang City, Sichuan Province Taken to the Notorious Er'ehu Brainwashing Centre
2012-05-23Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wu Guangwan was arrested on April 21st, by police. Mr. Wu was taken to the notorious Er'ehu Brainwashing Centre. Simply because Mr. Wu is a good person who cultivates kindness, he has been subjected to persecution many times. In September 2010, Mr. Wu was also taken by police to the Er'ehu Brainwashing Centre. Through brainwashing methods such as keeping a large light and loud TV on at night, they forced him to watch videos that slander Falun Gong. He was also subjected to physical and verbal abuse and continuous sleep deprivation for more than a month. When Mr. Wu was in a confused mental state after being deprived of sleep for so long, the brainwashing centre personnel forced him to compromise and write a guarantee statement to renounce practising Falun Gong.
