Dafa Practitioner Ms. Zhu Xia from Sichuan Province Suffers Mental Collapse Due to the Persecution

Ms. Zhu Xia, a 32-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner from Sichuan Province, was severely persecuted. After facts about her persecution were exposed, other Dafa practitioners tried many different methods to rescue her. As a result, she was released and returned home to Chengdu City on April 2, 2004. However, after suffering nearly one and a half years of illegal forced labour and 10 months of cruel and repeated torment and torture, Ms. Deng was so seriously devastated both mentally and physically that she suffered a mental collapse. -

Abuse in a Mental Hospital: The Experience of 52 Year Old Dafa Practitioner Ms. Liu Hongzhen from Zhenjiang City
2004-06-01"My name is Liu Hongzhen and I am 52 years old. I live in Jiangsu Province. I was sent to a mental hospital against my will. The place looked terrifying. The first night, a sharp pain awoke me. When I looked, I saw a nurse giving me an injection. I confronted her, and she said she was giving me sedatives. I wondered why they gave sedatives to a sleeping person. Around 8:00 a.m. the next day, I was called to the nurse's office where there were many people inside. They started to give me large doses of injections and pills and threatened that if I didn't cooperate they would tie me up and shock me with electric batons. A doctor surnamed Fang said I had "illnesses resulting from Falun Gong practice" and I would be "cured" if I stopped practising Falun Gong. -
Harbin City's Female Prison Brutally Tortures Dafa Practitioners
2004-06-01On November 28, 2002, Dafa practitioners, detained at Harbin City's Female Prison peacefully resisted the persecution they received, such as being forced to stay outside on a very cold day. As a result, seven practitioners were locked in a small cells for 33 consecutive days. In addition, their undergarments were forcefully stripped off in a time when it was winter. They could only wear coats without buttons, and were shackled to a ring set into the floor. They had two extensions staying in this small cell, because they refused to wear prison name labels or participate when the police were conducting the head count. -
Follow-up Report on the Torture Death of Dafa Practitioner Ms. Yang Yufang from Zhangjiakou City
2004-06-01Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Yang Yufang was 49 years old. On May 17, 2003, Yang Yufang was arrested. She went on a hunger strike to protest the unjust treatment. So they brutally force-fed her. Yang Yufang suffered all kinds of torture at the hands of the authorities. On June 16, 2003, Her youngest son received a phone call from an official who told his family to come over. The authorities said, "Yang Yufang suffered from acute diabetes at the detention centre and was rushed to the No. 5 Hospital on June 14. For three days she was under constant care and died at 12:05 p.m. on June 16. Yang Yufang's husband was shocked by the news, because she never had diabetes in her whole life. How could such a healthy and strong woman die in less than one month? When they saw her body it was in a terrible state. Her family were beyond shock! -
Falun Gong Practitioners Forced into Intensive Slave Labour in Hazardous Conditions at Chaoyanggou Labour Camp
2004-06-01In April of 2001 Chaoyanggou Labour Camp ordered practitioners to work in a factory producing floorboard materials. There the harm of inhaling plastic dust was a very serious problem and almost no safety equipment was offered. Practitioners were forced to do hard labour even when they were not given enough food to eat in any one of the three meals in a day. When they were loading and unloading PVC material, everyone had to carry bags close to or over one hundred pounds and pile them up neatly. Practitioners were soaked with sweat, gasping for breath, while the guards and the head of the hooligans were shouting and cursing the practitioners to work harder. -
Police Beat Dafa Practitioner Ms. Li Xianglan to Death in Shandong Province
2004-05-31Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Xianglan, a 48-year-old woman from a village in Shandong Province, was taken by police to the police station in 2001. When Li Xianglan was taken, her family, who were rural people, became very frightened that they would also be implicated. so they did not even go to the local police station, which was less than 500 meters from their home, to inquire about her. When she was released she was in poor physical condition and barely able to walk. She collapsed on the ground and her distressed husband called for his daughter and son-in-law. They moved her to a bed and discovered that she had already died. Upon viewing the body, they noticed that her legs were all bruised and missing skin in places. -
Additional Facts Regarding the Torture Death of Ms. Liu Caiyun at the Baimalong Forced Labour Camp
2004-05-31Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Caiyun, over thirty years old, came from Yongzhou, Hunan Province. In October 2000, she was abducted by police while she was walking to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. The police took her to Zhuzhou's Baimalong Forced Labour Camp, where she was tortured for eight months. Ms. Liu went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. In March 2003, Ms. Liu Caiyun was tortured until she was in critical condition. Later, Liu Caiyun died as a result of the continual torture she was subjected to at Zhuzhou's Baimalong Forced Labour Camp. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Suffers Severe Mental Trauma from Persecution in Tianshui City
2004-05-3159 year old Mr Yang Keqiang from Tianshui City was formerly a very healthy person and had a nice family until he was subjected to the persecution inside the forced labour camp. After his release, his entire family lost their source of income. This made the already difficult family situation even worse. Now although Yang Keqiang is able to go to work, his mind is still disoriented as a result of the trauma he received. Even his co-workers and people who know him say Yang is now like a completely different person. -
Dafa Practitioner Mr. Zhang Mingkai from Liaoning Province Dies from Torture-induced Illness After Becoming Homeless to Avoid Further Persecution
2004-05-30Zhang Mingkai was a Dafa practitioner from Liaoning Province. On April 9, 2002, authorities in Dalian City launched a mass arrest of practitioners. Zhang was arrested. While in detention, Zhang was beaten and insulted many times by criminals in the same cell. He was also forced to scratch criminals' backs covered with scabies. By the next month when Zhang was released, he had also developed scabies all over his body. After his release, in order to avoid further persecution, Zhang and his wife were forced into homelessness. Because of poor living conditions and lack of medical care, Zhang passed away in May 2003, seven months after he left home. -

Death of Practitioner Zhou Rong in 2001 and Other Persecution Cases in Guizhou Province
2004-05-30Mr. Zhou Rong used to live in a district of Guiyang City. He was arrested when he went to Beijing to appeal in 2000. First he was sent to Tianjin City, then Hebei Province, until he was dying. After he was sent home, his family took him to PLA No.44 Hospital for emergency treatment. He died in the hospital in 2001, only in his 20's. -
Relatives in U.S Appeal for Release of Dafa Practitioner Ms. Yang Shulan in Inner Mongolia
2004-05-30In February 2004, officers from Saihan Branch, Huhehaote City Police in Inner Mongolia arrested Dafa practitioner Yang Shulan. Family members are not allowed to visit her. Her relatives called the police many times to ask about her situation, but they refused to answer any questions. When the relative telephoned and asked, "Why did you arrest an innocent person?" the policeman did not say a word. Her relatives in the U.S. have no choice but to seek help from sympathetic media, supportive government officials, and people with kind hearts. -
Langfang City Authorities Cause Death of Mr Zhengting Ma, His Wife and Daughter Also Suffer Brutal Persecution
2004-05-29Both Fengyin Li and her husband Zhengting were arrested and sent to a local detention centre in Langfang City on five separate occasions. In the detention centre, he was tortured and suffered both physically and psychologically. Later he was sent to a brainwashing centre, where he was psychologically persecuted. He died after being forced to renounce his belief in Falun Dafa. Their daughter Li Ma was sent to the detention centre on two separate occasions.
