Family Decimated by Persecution: Husband and Wife Tortured to Death, Mother Detained, Father Dies of Grief

In the past several years, simply because of practising Falun Gong and telling the truth, Zhao Yulan's family was fiendishly persecuted by perpetrators from the Qinghai Provincial government. Their homes were frequently and unlawfully searched and their money and belongings were taken away. "610 Office" personnel detained, sent to forced labour or sentenced to prison four people from their family. Within less than half a year, Zhao Yulan's older son and daughter-in-law died as a result of torture. Her younger son has been detained in the labour camp and has been subjected to forced brainwashing. -
The Brutal Torture of Dafa Practitioners in the Guangdong Province Chatou Labour Camp
2004-06-05Dafa practitioners at the labour camp are forced to transcribe letters prepared by the guards, renouncing their practice and denouncing Falun Dafa. The guards brutally torture those who do not comply, using sleep deprivation, forcing practitioners to stand for long periods of time, and hanging them up by ropes and shackles. The also tie up practitioners into positions that cause severe pain. They have exhausted their means of torturing determined Dafa practitioners. Even Ms. Pang Lihui, a practitioner who is over 70 years old, has also suffered these tortures. Guards took her to the notorious so-called "Guangzhou City Law Education School." They covered her mouth with strong, wide tape, wrapping it around her head about eight times. Ms. Pang could not breathe. -
Further Details of the Beating to Death of 62 Year Old Retired Teacher Ms. Zhao Xiaoping by Beijing Police (Photo)
2004-06-04Ms. Zhao Xiaoping was fondly known as "Sister Xinjiang." At 62 years old, Zhao was a resident in Urumqi City and a retired teacher of a Ceramic Factory. She was arrested for appealing against the persecution of Falun Gong. On January 4, 2001, Ms. Zhao was interrogated by the authorities. When she was returned to the cell, her face was disfigured with 3 big bumps on her head. Her body was covered with dirt, she could not talk, and her lips were tightly shut. She was sent to hospital for emergency treatment on January 5, 2001. The doctors found that she was suffering from internal injuries that consisted of bleeding in her liver, spleen, and stomach. She was also diagnosed as having a swollen heart from the trauma she received and kidney failure. As a result of these massive injuries, Ms. Zhao passed away on January 7, 2001. -
Death of Dafa Practitoner, Ms. Xu Jinzhi from Heilongjiang Province, While Detained at Mudanjiang Prison
2004-06-04Dafa practitioner, Ms. Xu Jinzhi, lived in Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province. In 2002, Ms. Xu Jinzhi was arrested while making Dafa truth clarification materials and the police found Falun Gong flyers in her home. The authorities sentenced her to three years in prison and sent her to the Mudanjiang Prison. On May 25, 2004, Xu Jinzhi's family received a notice stating that she was in critical condition. When her family arrived at the hospital, they saw Xu Jinzhi's emaciated body. They were told she died from a brain hemorrhage. The police didn't allow her family to examine her body and had it cremated two days later, on May 27, 2004. -
Dafa Practitioner Zhang Shengqi from Jilin Province, Dies After Being Subjected to Torture in the Chaoyanggou Labour Camp
2004-06-04Mr. Zhang Shengqi was a 35-year-old Dafa practititioner who formerly lived in Jilin Province. In April 2001 he was incarcerated in the Baishan City Forced Labour Camp. Because he refused to renounce his belief, the guards often brutally tortured him. Later he was transferred to the Chaoyanggou Labour Camp in Changchun City. He suffered all kinds of cruel torture and was persecuted by the authorities there to force him to renounce his belief in Falun Dafa. As a result of the abuse, he became emaciated. In March 2002, he was released on medical parole to his family members care but never recovered and died on February 26, 2004. -
Suizhou City Officials Falsely Blame Falun Gong Practitioners When Unemployed Workers Strike After Failed Appeals to Higher Authorities
2004-06-04The Tieshu Group textile factory in Suizhou City once employed a few thousand workers, but has now gone bankrupt due to corrupt dealings between the factory leaders and the local government officials. In order to be able to support themselves, many jobless workers appealed to higher authorities on several occasions with no result. Finally, the unemployed workers protested by blocking the local railways. Information circulating among the workers said that Mayor Wu Chao was falsely telling the higher authorities that the railway blockings were caused by Falun Gong practitioners. Twenty of them were falsely arrested for allegedly practising Falun Gong and taken to the Hubei Province Denglin Farm (a jail), where the police did not allow visits from their family members. -

Mother of Toronto Resident on Brink of Death from Forced Injection of Nerve-damaging Drugs

Ms. Huang Xin is a retired military examiner. She was sent to the Liaoning Province Female Prison Hospital for refusing to give up her belief in Falun Gong. At the hospital she was injected with nerve-damaging drugs against her will and has lost most of her memory as well as displays slow reactions to her surroundings. -
Dafa Practitioner Mr. Zhao Mingxiang Tortured to Death by Police in Shandong Province
2004-06-03Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhao Mingxiang was 46 years old and lived in Shandong Province. He was forced to leave home for four years because of the persecution. On December 21, 2003, he was arrested while distributing truth clarification materials in Duanbolan Town, Jimo City. Villagers discovered his body in a haystack on December 30, 2003. On May 25, 2004, Zhao Mingxiang's family went to the Jimo City Police Department to claim the body. The police said Zhao Mingxiang died from "hunger and cold weather." Zhao Mingxiang obviously died after suffering nine days of brutal torture at the Duanbolan Police Station in Jimo City. We assume the police disposed of his body in order to escape responsibility. -
Elderly Dafa Practitioner Ms. Zhou Yuqin from Hebei Province Died as a Result of Torture in 2001
2004-06-03Ms. Zhou Yuqin, 59 years old, lived in Tangshan City of Hebei Province. On June 9, 2001, police officer Zhang Zhiqiang and others from the Kaiping Police Station came to her home and detained her in the Kaiping Brainwashing Centre. She was given only three and a half steamed buns each day to eat. The cruel physical and mental torture she was forced to endure made her weaker and weaker, until her life was in danger. The brainwashing class personnel feared to take responsibility, so they ordered her family members to take her home. Forty days after she returned home, all the attempts to restore her health failed, and she died on September 1, 2001. -
Mr. Tian Lifu Passed Away in 2001 from the Torture He Received In Detention in Wuhan City
2004-06-03Dafa practitioner Mr. Tian Lifu was around 50 years of age and lived in Wuhan City. In February 2000, Tian Lifu was abducted and sent to a Detention Centre in Wuhan City where he was physically and mentally tortured. Soon after, he was sent to a Brainwashing Centre where he was further abused and mistreated. His condition worsened by the day but the persecution didn't end. He was handcuffed even when he was rushed to a hospital for emergency treatment. He was sent home and put under watch. During this period, he was constantly harassed, threatened and interrogated. Tian Lifu passed away in November 2001. -
Ms. Sun Qiuxiang and Her Pregnant Daughter Beaten Unconscious by "610 Office" Personnel in Shandong Province
2004-06-03Fifty -three year old Ms. Sun Qiuxiang is a farmer's wife from Huying Town, Shandong Province. Her daughter and herself were both arrested and tortured by police because they practise Falun Gong. Her daughter was pregnant at the time. She could not endure the torture and passed out. The head of the "610 Office," Li Xiaoming, beat her face and legs after she lost consciousness. Later they took Ms. Sun's daughter to the hospital for an intravenous infusion. The next day, when they saw that she was doing OK, they again brutally beat her. They were even so cruel to a pregnant woman. -
Account of Mental Trauma and Persecution Suffered by Falun Gong Practitioners from Sanhe City
2004-06-02Sanhe City in Hebei Province is a small city with a small population. In 1999, it was officially said there were more than 3,000 Falun Gong practitioners there. It is just a rough estimate that since July 20, 1999, at least 41 practitioners were sent to forced labour camps. Hundreds of practitioners were detained and subjected to savage torture. Ms Jia Xueyun used to be very healthy from practising Falun Gong. When the labour camp sent her back home, she had been mentally traumatized and was so emaciated that she weighed only a little over 30 kg [approximately 66 lbs]. -
Brutal Persecution Suffered by Female Falun Gong Practitioners Inside the Nanmusi Women's Labour Camp in Sichuan Province
2004-06-02"I am a female Dafa practitioner from Sichuan Province. I was illegally sentenced to two years of forced labour education and sent to the Nanmusi Women's Labour Camp in Sichuan Province. Nanmusi Women's Labour Camp is a brutal environment and those incarcerated there consider it to be hell on earth. two foreign reporters came to the camp to investigate whether the reports that they had a water dungeon which they used for torture were true. They asked one practitioner. She only replied, "I won't say anything." After that, the guards hung her by her hands from the window frames for four days and four nights." -
Dafa Practitioner Tortured for Delivering Truth-Clarifying Materials
2004-06-02"I am a farmer, resident in Bin County, Heilongjiang Province. In August 2000, a fellow practitioner and I were reported to officers while we were delivering materials that clarify the truth about the persecution. The head of the local police station, and several police officers threatened me. They wanted me to tell them where I got the materials. I refused to tell them. Then they played all kinds of tricks before they began to torture me physically. I was sent to a detention centre and detained for four months.
