Ms. Zhang Yanju Recovers from Breast Cancer by Practising Falun Gong; Later Arrested for Telling People the Facts about the Persecution

Police arrested Ms. Zhang Yanju on February 22nd, 2011 while she was distributing Falun Gong materials. The officers interrogated her and broke into both her and her son's houses, where they performed searches. Ms. Zhang is now locked in the Pei County Detention Centre and will soon face a so-called “trial”. Ms. Zhang at one time suffered from breast cancer. She visited major hospitals but none of the doctors were able to cure her. Ms. Zhang began to practise Falun Gong in 2004. She faithfully observed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance in her daily life. Her health gradually improved. -
Ms. Gao Mingxia from Qingdao City Sentenced to Five Years In Prison
2011-06-19After practitioner Ms. Gao Mingxia was detained for nearly one year, 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) officials sentenced her to five years in prison on May 26th. Ms. Gao stated in court that she had not violated any laws by practising Falun Gong and becoming a better person. She said it was the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) judicial officials and 610 Office who had committed crimes since they fabricated stories to defame innocent people. After the CCP began to persecute Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Ms. Gao was sent to a labour camp twice, where she was severely tortured. -
Facts Regarding the Persecution of Ms. Zheng Guixiang and Mr. Wang Shuyu from Jiamusi City
2011-06-18Ms. Zheng Guixiang and her husband, Mr. Wang Shuyu are both Falun Gong practitioners. Ever since the persecution of Falun Gong began, they have had their home ransacked many times. They were arrested and had money extorted from them. In April 2009, while hanging banners exposing the persecution of Falun Gong, the couple were arrested by police. They took them to the detention centre. The guard forced the couple to perform laborious work including picking potatoes and leeks. He also forced them to wash a lot of bedsheets and clothing. Wang Xunjie often came to the detention centre to pressure Ms. Zheng and Mr. Wang to sign a guarantee statement to renounce practising Falun Gong, but they both refused to comply. -
Severe Persecution in the Wujiaqu Women’s Forced Labour Camp, Xinjiang Autonomous Region
2011-06-18Officials and guards in the Wujiaqu Women’s Forced Labour Camp in the Xinjiang Autonomous Region harshly persecute Falun Gong practitioners, and order inmates to torture practitioners. On January 30th, 2011, team leader Liu Yan and guard Zhang Yanyan sent practitioner Ms. Ning Xianghua to Liu’s lounge, where the monitoring system was not installed, and ordered inmates Gu Qiuhong and Lin Yuan to take off Ms. Ning’s clothes and beat her. Ms. Ning tried to resist, but was immediately subjected to brutal beatings. After that, Ms. Ning was forced to stand still for over three hours. -
Ms. Wan Hognxia Arrested Again after Being Persecuted Many Times
2011-06-18Since Jiang Zemin's [former leader of China and instigator of the persecution] regime started to persecute Falun Gong in 1999, practitioner Ms. Wan Hongxia from Langfang City, Hebei Province, has been arrested and detained many times, including four times in detention centres, two times in brainwashing centres, and three years in prison. On May 12th, while Ms. Wan and another practitioner were distributing leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong close to the intersection of Xinkai Road and Jianguo Road, four policemen arrived. The two told the police that they were good people and were not breaking any law. They asked the police not to persecute good people. The officers did not listen to them and arrested them. -
Cases of Falun Gong Practitioners Persecuted in Beichuan County, Sichuan Province
2011-06-18In September 2009, Ms. Teng Hongbin, in her 40s, was arrested, as she distributed Falun Gong informational materials at the Mianyang Railway Station. She was subsequently sentenced to three years in prison. Forty-year-old Ms. Liu Ping from Jiuyuan was sentenced to four years in prison, and Ms. Jiang Wenping from Yongxing Town, in her 40s, was sentenced to three years in prison. The trial was held covertly without informing the practitioners' families. -
Older Practitioner Mr. Sun Xianming from Jilin Province Died As a Result of Physical Abuse and Torture During Two Forced Labour Terms
2011-06-17Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Sun Xianming, 59, from Tonghua City, Jilin Province, was subjected to two forced labour terms. He was bedridden, and his weight dropped to merely 30 kg as a result of severe physical abuse and torture while he was incarcerated in the labour camp. After he was last released, he had lived away from home to avoid being harassed by local 610 Office agents (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and died in another city on April 30th, 2011. -
Mr. Ma Zhenyu Detained for the Fifth Time
2011-06-17Mr. Ma Zhenyu was arrested on May 29th, and is being held at the Xiaguan Detention Centre. This is the fifth time he has been arrested. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong in July 1999. On July 20th, 1999, Mr. Ma and four other practitioners were among the first to be arrested by the CCP in Nanjing. Mr. Ma was arrested again in November 2000 and was sentenced to seven years in prison after being tortured and interrogated. His wife had to divorce him in order to protect their daughter from the CCP's persecution. -
Ms. Yao Shaoyun from Xinyang City, Henan Province Forced to Leave Her Hometown--Non-Practitioner Husband Arrested
2011-06-17Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yao Shaoyun lived in the staff dormitory of a college with her husband, Mr. Lu Weikuan, who taught English at the college and doesn’t practise Falun Gong. Mr. Lu was called away by college officials on June 1st, while he was teaching a class. Police arrested him. They searched the entire dormitory and confiscated Falun Gong books, a computer, cash, and a bank book for an account containing over 60,000 yuan, as well as other personal belongings. The bank account contained what the couple had saved for years in order to buy a house. When Ms. Yao learned about the incident, she was forced to leave her hometown due to saftey concerns. Her husband is currently detained in the Domestic Security Division. -
I Was Brutally Tortured in Liaoning Province Women’s Prison
2011-06-17I was detained in the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison on December 28th, 2007. While in the prison, I refused to read the articles slandering Falun Gong. As a result the guards began to assault me. To protest the violence, I began a hunger strike. Guards tried to force-feed me and I became so ill they took me to the hospital. The guards placed with a violent murderer, Jiang, in a cell to torture me. Jiang and others forced me to squat barefooted in the cold harsh wind on January 19th, 2008. They tied me up with rubber bands, taped my mouth, and threw me into an ice box full of ice, then poured water all over me. They stripped my clothes off, grabbed my hair, and dragged me on the floor. They whipped me with a belt, kicked me, and crushed my toes. I was tortured until they got tired or when I lost consciousness. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Lin Wenwei in Critical Condition after Torture
2011-06-16In November 2010, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Lin Wenwei was so severely tortured in Fuqing Prison that he was in critical condition. He regained consciousness after several days of emergency treatment. His whole body was black and blue. His internal organs were damaged, and he showed symptoms of brain atrophy, as he could not think or speak clearly. It is not known what kind of lethal drug that prison guards had injected him with to damage his nervous system. Mr. Lin was sentenced to four years in prison at the end of 2009, as well as three years in prison in 2000. -
Persecution Suffered by Mr. Wei Anyue, His Wife and Mother-in-Law
2011-06-16Mr. Wei Anyue, 52, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in 2000. He was arrested by police and detained. Thereafter he was repeatedly arrested and detained. Mr. Wei was arrested again and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment by the Qilihe District Court in April 2004. Guards forced him to watch videos slandering Falun Gong. When he refused to follow instructions, he was kicked and beaten. He was later sent to the prison mechanical factory to do hard labour. He is often beaten and forced to make carpets by hand. -
Ms. Zhao Mei and Ms. Huang Wanping from Songzi City, Hubei Province Facing Unjust Sentencing
2011-06-16Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Zhao Mei and Ms. Huang Wanping were arrested on May 18th, 2011 by officers from the Yanglin Township Police Station while they were distributing Falun Gong CDs. Later, they were transferred to Songzi City Detention Centre. Currently, these two practitioners are facing court sentencing. -
Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Tricks at a So-called “Law Education Centre” in Haidian District, Beijing
2011-06-16The “Law Education Centre” in Haidian District, Beijing is a place the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) uses to brainwash practitioners. On July 7th, 2010, I was taken into custody by the director of the 610 Office in Haidian, a policeman, and someone from our community committee. I was taken to Beijing Haidian District Law Education Centre. I knew it was a place for brainwashing practitioners. Three women brainwashed me together, and used deceitful methods to fool me. Brainwashing methods included playing videos attacking Falun Gong. One person would talk with me, another constantly stared at me, and the third sat to the side, watching. Studying the Falun Gong teachings or doing the exercises was forbidden. -
Chen Xiangrui Beaten to Death by Police, Organ Theft Suspected
2011-06-15On March 11th, 2003, police broke down the door and swarmed into Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Chen Xiangrui's home. They punched and kicked Mr. Chen,dragged him outside and threatened to beat him to death. Then they forced him into their van, shoving him face down under the seat with one officer stepping on his body. Dozens of people witnessed this incident, as the policemen were very loud and caused a big disturbance. Police hung Mr. Chen up and assaulted him with electric batons, a hammer, and a rubber club. The officers interrogated and brutally tortured him all through the night. As his condition was critical, the police sent him to the hospital. Mr. Chen died on March 12th.
