Mr. Xiao Furen (who is in his 20s) from Shaoyang City, Hunan Province, works in another province. When Mr. Xiao learned that his mother, Ms. Wang Wuxiu, was detained in Ward 6 at the Hunan Province Women's Prison for practising Falun Gong, he made the long trip back to Changsha City to visit her during the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Ms. Wang Wuxiu was arrested on April 18th, 2009. Participating in the arrest were Shaoyang City 610 Office agents (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). This year Beita District Court officials covertly sentenced Ms. Wang to three years in prison. She was then taken to Hunan Women's Prison in Changsha on July 8th, 2010.

Ms. Wang's son arrived at the prison on September 14th to visit his mother. However, the prison guards forbade him to visit her and drove him out of the prison. They told him that his mother had not written the three statements to renounce practising Falun Gong, so he could not see her.
