On May 7th, 2010, police officers from the National Security Team of Xichang City arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Hu Yunhuai. On May 27th, she was arrested by the Xichang Procuratorate. Now she is detained at the Tuohuang Detention Centre in Xichang. She has been subjected to brutal persecution and as a result has become seriously ill.

In the past, Ms. Hu had a lot of diseases and a bad temper. After she started to practise Falun Gong, both her health and temperament saw great improvement.

In the Tuohuang Detention Centre, the police officers forcibly removed the dentures from her mouth. Without her dentures, it became very difficult for her to eat any food. Police officers from the National Security Team kept interrogating her, putting her under tremendous mental pressure.

Ms. Hu has been persecuted to the point of becoming seriously ill. Detention centre authorities were afraid to be held responsible for her death, so they informed her family about her situation. Recently, Wu Hongtie, head of the National Security Team of Xichang, and Chen Qi, deputy head of the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), went to the Tuohuang Detention Centre to extract a verbal confession from her, despite her obviously deteriorated health condition. Even now, they are still pressuring her. Ms. Hu's detainment has brought great suffering to her family. They are seeking help to ask for her release.
