Ms. Guo Lingna, 49, lives in Kunming City, Yunnan Province. She worked at the state-owned Yunnan Cement Company in Kunming. She has been persecuted on several occasions by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for persisting in practising Falun Gong.

On August 3rd, 2007, Ms. Guo was arrested by officers from Liujiaying Police Station, and held at the Xishan District Detention Centre in Kunming. Ten days later, she was taken by officers from the Xishan District Police Department to the Yunnan Province Women's Forced Labour Camp to serve a two-year term. Her family didn't receive any notice about her detention or forced labour sentence. While she was in the forced labour camp, Ms. Guo's company terminated her work contract without discussion. Ms. Guo's husband was forced to divorce her, when he came under the threat of being fired by his company. Their family was broken apart.

Ms. Guo was arrested again on December 13th, 2009, after having been home from the forced labour camp for only four months. Two college students were distributing product flyers, and handed her one. Ms. Guo gave them a Falun Gong DVD and a "Falun Gong is good" token in return, wishing them good fortune. However, the two students reported her to the police. Policeman Bi Xuefeng and security guard Qian Yongbin from Daguan Police Station came to arrest her. They took her to the Xishan District National Security Team. The police also ransacked her home.

At 10:30 a.m. on July 6th, 2010, the Kunming Intermediate Court held her trial. Her attorney was threatened by the Yunnan Province Judicial Bureau during the process. On August 27th, her attorney informed her family that the Kunming Intermediate Court had sentenced her to three years in prison.

Ms. Guo Lingna is very weak as a result of holding a hunger strike to protest the persecution.
