European Dafa Practitioners go to Belgium to Support the Submission of the Lawsuit against Jiang

Entrusted by Falun Gong practitioners, the renowned Belgian human rights lawyer Georges-Henri Beauthier filed a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin and Li Lanqing with the Federal Prosecutor on charges of genocide, anti-human behaviour and cruel torture on the morning of August 20th. Many Dafa practitioners from various European countries went to Belgium to support the case. -

Passers-by expressed their sympathy with the persecution that Falun Gong practitioners are suffering in China. They showed great interest in the lawsuits filed in many countries against the former Chinese President, Jiang Zemin, who is the prime culprit of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Many of them indicated their support for the legal actions taken by Dafa practitioners. -

Our lawsuit is the 11th international lawsuit to emerge in the last two years against Chinese government officials or entities for their role in the persecution of Falun Gong. Three of these lawsuits in the United States have already handed down judgements against Chinese officials for torture and other crimes committed in the persecution of Falun Gong.But the real terror of Jiang's genocidal policy towards Falun Gong is not found merely in the number of dead or the number of imprisoned. What Jiang unleashed in July 1999 was a horrific form of genocide that not only seeks to "physically destroy" 70-100 million people because they believe in "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance", but has sought to destroy that belief itself. -
Belgium: Lawsuit against Jiang Draws Great Interest from Belgian Media

On the 20th of August, Belgian Falun Gong practitioners organised a press conference about the lawsuit against China’s dictator Jiang Zemin, at the Federation Court in Brussels, the capital of Belgium. Major Dutch and Belgian media organisations attended the conference. Outside the court, Falun Gong practitioners’ peaceful demonstrations of the exercises also attracted media attention. -

2003-08-22After we displayed banners, pictures of persecuted practitioners in China and information about the International Lawsuit against Jiang, people immediately came to sign our petition. We gave them materials and they were happy to receive them. When Chinese tourists saw our exercise demonstration, they accepted our newspapers and materials without worry. -
Germany: First Public Performance of the Play “Suing Jiang” in German

A blue banner, with a German translation of “Suing Jiang Zemin for Genocide”, formed a stage curtain. Jiang was being charged with instigating the persecution against Falun Gong, which has now been going on for four years. Chinese practitioners acted as witnesses, giving evidence and recounting their horrendous memories from time spent in China’s labour camps. -

Germany: Letting People Know the Truth at an Information Day in Limburg City

At the very beginning, there were three young Chinese people standing at a distance from us and looking at us with suspicion. After talking to practitioners for half an hour, they came to our table to learn about the persecution of Falun Gong in China in detail. They told us that we should broadcast the truth about the persecution on TV. -
UK: A “Thank You” Letter to Practitioners from the Organisers of the Edinburgh Festival

For the second year in a row, Falun Gong practitioners won first prize in the opening parade of Edinburgh’s world famous international festival. Pictures of practitioners also appeared on the front page of several Scottish newspapers. Recently, festival organisers wrote a letter to Falun Gong practitioners to express their gratitude and to ask them to pick up the first prize trophy. -
Finland: SOS Tour Attracts Media Attention in Every City

During this SOS Tour, practitioners had some great opportunities to tell people about the legal process to bring Jiang to justice. In some of the cities they visited, people had never seen Falun Dafa before and were supportive. In every city, a journalist from the local newspaper came to report on the activity and practitioners appeared on the front page of the following day’s paper. -
Sweden: Celebrating Five Years of Falun Dafa in Kalmar City

Five years ago, we did not even have a video tape to learn the exercises from. We had the book Falun Gong, with pictures of the exercises. We put a key on top of the page so that it was not turned over by the wind and then we practised the exercises, comparing our movements to the pictures. We tried to perfect our movements by pointing out each other’s mistakes. -

Over three days, the UK practitioner and some Irish practitioners went to three of the biggest cities in Ireland - the capital Dublin, Galway, and Limerick - and three important cities in Northern Ireland - the capital Belfast, Lisburn, and Newtown. A Western man and a Hong Kong lady had heard some of Jiang’s propaganda about Falun Gong. A Chinese practitioner talked with them and showed them photos of persecuted practitioners. They said they had suspected that the propaganda was lies and now it was confirmed. They left after wishing the practitioner good luck. -
Sweden: Falun Dafa Catches People's Attention at the Middle Ages Festival in Gotland

No matter whether practitioners practised exercises in the park or demonstrated them by the roadside, they caught the attention of passers-by, who came over to ask for flyers. Practitioners grasped every opportunity to let people know more about Falun Gong and the brutal persecution that is happening in China.
