  • Netherlands: Letter from Practitioner Denied a Passport by the Jiang Regime, Seeking Help from a Member of Parliament

"My nationality is being taken away from me by the Chinese embassy. The reason for this is simply because of my belief in Falun Gong...However, the violations to my human rights are trivial when compared to what had happened in China. You may have heard already heard of how an eight-month-old baby was tortured to death together with his 30-year-old mother because his mother practised Falun Gong. Brutal persecution against this group of peaceful and kind-hearted people is happening every day, every hour and every minute. I also fear that I will be subjected to similar persecution should I be forced to return to China."
  • AFP (Agence-france Presse): US has "serious reservations" about Proposed Hong Kong Sedition Law

'"Serious reservations remain about provisions for the proscription of organizations endangering national security. As currently drafted, the law stands to blur the dividing lines between the Chinese and Hong Kong legal systems," Reeker said in a statement. Human rights and pro-democracy groups fear China could use the new law to suppress freedoms including those of media, speech and religion.'
  • Times of India: Falun Gong Wave Reaches Indian Shores

'"The SARS issue will help focus the world's attention on the way the Chinese government lies," points out Jauhal. "Our newspaper, Falun Dafa Today, reported about the virus as far back as November. But the government made sure that the news did not spread." He feels that India's admiration for China and its economic might is misplaced as the Chinese government is merely inserting statistics to show its development.'
  • Time Asia Magazine Criticises Thai Decision to Ban Falun Gong Meeting: "I Thought Thailand Meant "Land of the Free"

(March 2001) The article harshly criticised the decision as an act of persecution and pointed out that despite the countries pride in the fact that it has never been never colonised, its claims of independence in foreign policy, and its profession to be devoutly Buddhist, the government in Bangkok is allowing Beijing to dictate religious policy in Thailand.
  • Sweden: Practitioners hold a Concert in the Exhibition Hall of Gothenburg University

A Chinese scholar told the practitioners with deep conviction, “It’s good that Falun Gong assists people in improving health. I stand on the side of “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance”. This is opposite to falsehood, evil, and conflict. “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance” is good. Persecuting Falun Gong is totally wrong”.
  • Letter from the UK Falun Gong Association to the Chairman of the Bills Committee on National Security Regarding Article 23

"We urge the Hong Kong Legislative Council to protect the “one country, two systems” principle and uphold the civil liberties and basic freedoms in Hong Kong by dropping the “decided-by-China” approach to the proscription mechanism."
  • FDI Press Release: Sweden Responds to China's Pressure on Thailand

As part of its worldwide campaign to persecute Falun Gong, the Chinese regime is exerting pressure on the Thai government to deport a Swedish Falun Gong practitioner living in Thailand. The Swedish Embassy in Thailand quickly demanded "an immediate explanation" from the Thai Foreign Ministry for this blatant violation of the human rights of an innocent Swedish citizen.
  • Letter to Thailand Authorities from European Friends of Falun Gong

"Falun Gong practitioners have no political motives for wanting to gain the freedom of practitioners in China, they simply want them to be able to practise Falun Gong freely and in accordance with the Chinese constitution. The Thai government must not allow China to exert political influence on it – it must act independently and must surely see that the detention of Mrs Svensson goes against her human right to freedom of belief and expression."
  • The Scotsman: Painted Protest

'A professional artist for many years, Zhang began to suffer from severe arthritis in 1996. Unable to paint and barely able to walk, there appeared to be little conventional doctors could do to help. But then Zhang decided to try using the five basic positions of Falun Gong to ease the pain in her joints. The results exceeded all her expectations and in just five weeks she was cured.'
  • Slovenia: Zhang Cuiying Painting Exhibition is a Great Success

The exhibition attracted many people, including the Manager who was so touched by the paintings that he provided an extra area of the exhibition hall for free. He also invited a Professor of Philosophy to play classical music to add to the peaceful atmosphere, who expressed an interest in learning the exercises and asked about the books as though he had found a brand new field of thought.
  • Swedish Practitioner Detained in Thailand Without Cause, Swedish Government Demands Immediate Explanation

On April 29 2003, the Thai police searched the residence of Mrs. Pirjo Svensson, a Swedish citizen and Falun Gong practitioner. They arrested Mrs. Svensson and sent her to the Immigration Office, where she was told that she would be deported. Mrs. Svensson firmly refused. This is yet another example of the Jiang regime's extending its persecution of Falun Gong overseas.
  • Weekend Aisen (Danish Newspaper): Falun Gong’s distress call

'The latest annual report on human rights from the U.S. Foreign Ministry ...refers to various sources according to which more than 200 Falun Gong practitioners have been killed while detained, or as a result of torture or abuse. Should only part of this information turn out to be true, then what we are facing is one of the biggest human rights violations in Asia today.'
  • Radio Free Asia: Interview with Falun Gong Practitioners from on the 4th Anniversary of the “4-25” Event

'Jiang Zemin and his group have directed this persecution and one of its most important aspects is telling lies. This can be clearly illustrated by the recent evolution of SARS in China. In the past, people may have argued that what Jiang’s group did was to maintain social stability and the image of the nation. However, the issue of SARS makes it undoubtedly clear to us that if they really cared about public interest and social stability, they would have taken proper measures at an early stage. In fact, they do not really care about social stability or public interest; all that they care for is preserving their vested interests, and maintaining their power and influence.'
  • Czech Republic: Photo Report from Zhang Cuiying’s Painting Exhibitions in Prague
