I live in Berlin. I have had the opportunity to meet people that suffered under the former East German Communist regime. Since the fall of the Berlin wall 18 years ago, they have been battling to keep people from forgetting the crimes committed by the Communist Party, as well as forgetting the suffering of the victims. They are still striving for their rights. They are striving for the opportunity to speak. Their efforts continue to remind people who live in the free society that, just as in the past, there people today who don't live in the freedom that som many of us take for granted. -
Former Drug Addict in China Finds out About Falun Gong Whilst in Jail
2007-05-10Having heard that the daughter of a relative had been jailed two years ago for taking drugs, I gave her a copy of an article entitled, "A Letter to the Beijing Residents." When she read the letter, she screamed with surprise. "I was asked to do the same thing to a Falun Gong practitioner when I was in jail. Everything it says here is true. Why does this still happen? Isn't it disgraceful?" Overwhelmed by the incident, she related to us her experience while she was in jail. -

Falun Gong is Really Magnificent
2007-05-04This story happened on the road facing the Jiangnan Wholesale Market on Jilin Street in Jilin City, China. On March 4th, 2007, which was the Lantern Festival, the whole Jilin City area had a severe snow storm, which was historically rare. Two days after the snow, the road was still covered with a slippery layer of ice and snow. It was really hard for people to walk on the road because it was very slippery. The road conditions were very dangerous. -

Remembering April 25th, 1999
2007-05-01Ten thousand Falun Gong practitioners appealed at Zhongnanhai (China's central government building) on April 25th, 1999 and peacefully requested premier Zhu Rongji to resolve the illegal arrest of Falun Gong practitioners in Tianjin City. It was the 88th anniversary of Tsinghua University's founding; it is more than mere coincidence--there is a reason for everything. Each year, as a Tsinghua University alumnus, I always have a lot of feelings during this special time. -

2007-05-01Last year, on January 15th--the Lantern Festival on the lunar calendar--her boyfriend's nephew, who was riding on a motorcycle, crashed onto a moving concrete mixer truck. His front teeth were knocked out, and his nose was torn up. Blood sprayed out of his nose and mouth. He was sent to a hospital for emergency treatment, where it was discovered that he had a serious intra-cranial hemorrhage. His blood pressure was only 24, and his pulse was 196. The hospital notified his family: Be prepared for his death! -

We have endured so many turbulent storms, and it is hard for people to imagine the miserable hardships that practitioners have suffered in the past eight years. How I Became a Falun Dafa Practitioner
2007-04-29I always thought that the Party was right in every respect. I even believed that in the past prisoners of war had been humanely treated in their "transformation" and even more so the peaceful Falun Dafa practitioners, who believe in "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance." But I tell you that I really did witness these things in the prison. I saw the horrible torture with my own eyes and heard the screams with my own ears.
