Please Voice Your Opposition Against Article 23 of the Basic Law

The Hong Kong government’s proposal to implement Article 23 of the Basic Law has aroused an outpouring of concern from Hong Kong citizens and people all over the world. If passed, the legislation would jeopardise Hong Kong citizens’ personal freedoms, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly and freedom of information. Hong Kong’s status as an international finance centre will be shattered. If we wait until the Hong Kong government enacts the Article 23 legislation, it will be too late. Another method is to use other channels to express your opinions of Article 23 legislation, even after the consultation period finishes on December 24th. Finally, you can communicate your opinions to your government, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Asian Chamber of Commerce, or Hong Kong-based associations.
