Between January 2007 and December 2009, Guangshan Police Station 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) in Henan Province arrested more than ten Falun Gong practitioners on different occasions. Six practitioners are still being persecuted there. They have not been able to escape or be released on bail.

Mr. Jian Xuefu, 40, is a teacher. He was arrested five times by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) because he wouldn't give up practising Falun Gong. He was sent to a forced labour camp for four years. In September 2008, CCP agents arrested practitioners using the excuse of "preparing" for the Olympics. Mr. Jian was arrested in his own house by 610 Office agents who spied on him. While he was in the detention centre, he was beaten with electric shock batons and deprived of sleep. When his family went to see him, he was undernourished and very thin. In March 2009, without an open court session, without Jian's or his family's signatures, and without a lawyer to represent him, the Guangshan County 610 Office and the court sentenced Jian Xuefu to a six-year sentence, then sent him to Xinmi Prison in Zhengzhou City. That was the second time that he has been incarcerated in that prison.

Mr. Wang Xincheng, 48, is a farmer. When he was clarifying the truth to people in May 2008, he was arrested by 610 Office agents. He was tortured in the county detention centre for an unusually long time and brutally beaten. He was subjected to forced labour for four years without a public trial. Mr. Wang was sent to Xinmi Prison in Zhengzhou City in January 2009.

Ms. Ruan Xianghua, 47, is Wang Xincheng's wife. She was arrested in February 2007. She was interrogated and forced to pay 5,000 yuan1 to be released. Ms. Ruan has since been followed several times. Her house was also ransacked numerous times. On September 3rd, 2008, she was arrested by 610 Office agents while she was at her relatives' house. Her son, who is in middle school, was left on his own. Practitioners from same area, along with Ms. Ruan's family and friends, tried to persuade different authorities to release her, but were unsuccessful, and Ms. Ruan was subjected to a three-year term. She was sent to Xinxiang Women's Prison in Henan in March 2009.

Ms. Dong Yurong, 55, was arrested in January 2007 for distributing informational materials. The 610 Office sentenced her to a four-year term, claiming that her appeal in Beijing was illegal. She was sent to Xinxiang Women's Prison in Henan in May 2008.

Ms. Hu Qingxian, 43, is a teacher. She was deceived by the 610 Office in February 2007. The 610 Office agents summoned her, saying, "Something needs to be clarified." She was sent directly to a detention centre and is still being persecuted there.

Mr. Zhu Shiwang, 35, was persecuted by the CCP several times for practising Falun Gong and lost his home in the end. He was arrested by agents from the Kunshan Domestic Security Division in Jiangsu while he was working outside. He was sentenced to a six-year term and is now in Wuxi Prison.
