On the afternoon of May 26th, 2006, practitioners of Shizuoka County, Japan hosted a press conference at Press Club in the County Government Building, calling for attention and help to stop the on-going crimes of organ harvesting from live practitioners, and to stop the Human Body Show scheduled to be held around Japan. On the same day, reporters from NHK, Shizuoka Broadcasting, The Daily Yomiuri, The MAINICHI Newspapers, Kyodo News and others newspapers and TV networks attended the conference.

Reporters from major media attended the conference Reporters talked with Mr. Sato (right), editor of the Epoch Time - Japanese edition

Mr. Sato, editor-in-chief of The Japanese Epoch Times edition first introduced about the Sujiatun incident, and played part of the interview with a witness of the atrocities occuring at the camp together with a recording of a phone call made by some volunteers who called a several major hospitals to inquire about kidney and liver transplant and more specifically about obtaining organs from Falun Gong practitioners.

Each of these sources independently verified that major hospitals in China are using organs from practitioners for transplants. According to the interview recording, Peter [pseudonym used to protect his identity] said that he witnessed organ removal in person at the hospital at Sujiatun in 2003. He also noted that security was very strict at the time.

Practitioner Ms. Liu of Shizuoka County told that, when she went to talk to Marrow Bank and Kidney Transplant Friendship Association of the county, their responses were astonishing. They said that they knew about the backward organ transplant techniques in China, follow-up service issues, organ trade in the black market, and the Chinese authorities using death-row prisoners' organs for transplants.

Doctor Lei Shuhong explained that organ transplant operations have been increasing quickly in recent years in China, and many hospitals do operations without permits. This explained the ease at which organs are obtained at hospitals. Comparing organ transplant data from China and other countries over recent years, together with CCP hospitals directly promotion instant organ availability, suggests that a large number of people are readily available to be killed at any time. Given the interviews with eye-witnesses, many of these people are Falun Gong practitioners.

Ms. Lei Shuhong said that she wondered where all the organ donors came from. Last year, there were 4000 liver transplants and 10,000 kidney transplants in China. Government officials however have announced only 1770 executions that year. Even if they were all used in organ transplantation, the gap is still huge.

Ms. Lei also pointed out that most of the liver transplant centres in China were established by the end of 2000 or early 2001. The most reasonable explanation is that the live organ harvesting on Falun Gong practitioners starting in 2001. This is also consistent with what one of the witnesses mentioned: that the organ removal from practitioners began in 2001.

In 2001, a single report showed that there were 14 cases of kidney transplants on April 20th in Taiping Hospital of Humen Town, Dongguan County. Also, according to news from the Guangzhou Daily website, The First Hospital affiliated to the Zhongshan Medical University had even more than ten cases of kidney transplants daily (the highest is 19 cases), while 6 liver transplants were recorded daily. This shows that this atrocity has been ongoing since 2001. It also corroborates what the third Sujiatun witness said about the hospital having a huge concealed concentration camp for Falun Gong practitioners in China.

Fu Lin holds his brother's picture. He is appealing for help to determine the whereabouts of his brother

Local practitioner Fu Lin explained that his entire family practised Falun Gong and that five of the six of them were persecuted in China. His fourth brother Xie Yunhuan, 31, studied in Japan and was unlawfully imprisoned after going back to China to appeal. He was sentenced to ten years in prison for "making 90 fliers and printing 1400 pamphlets". He said that his brother is still in prison, and the authorities don't permit family visits. So it's been a while since he has had any contact with him.

At the end of the press conference, the representative of Japanese NPO and the Falun Dafa Association, Mr. Tsuruzono Masaaki called on media to help to end the killing as early as possible. He said: "Most Japanese people might think that this organ harvesting doesn't have much of an effect on Japan. Actually, many Japanese have spent a lot of money having kidney transplants in China. They in fact are helping the Chinese Communist regime to kill people."

The reporters present asked many questions after the conference.
