Former Director of Police Station Abducted in Beijing

On November 20, 2001, Falun Dafa Practitioner Shang Xiping, the former Director of the Huanan Forestry Bureau Police Station in Heilongjiang Province, was abducted in Beijing along with 16 other practitioners when they were sharing cultivation experiences with each other. After their arrest, they went on a hunger strike to protest their illegal detention. Shang Xiping was later escorted back to his hometown by the local police and was again illegally detained there.

Guo Ren'ai is another practitioner who is being illegally held in the Huanan Forestry Bureau Detention Centre. She is about 50 years old and is a senior teacher from Middle School No. 1. She was forced to leave her home and wander about to avoid illegal arrest and torture. However, in October, the police abducted her while she was buying vegetables at a market. She has been illegally detained ever since.
