    While China was hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, its ruling party, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), has continued its persecution of Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline also known as Falun Dafa that is based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.

    The month of July 2019 recorded 52 new cases of Falun Gong practitioners sentenced to prison by the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) court system.
  • The Chinese Government Has Legalised “Enforced Disappearance”

    Recently, the Chinese government passed a new version of criminal law Article No. 73. Article No. 73 states that individuals who are suspected of jeopardising national security and being involved in terrorist activities can be monitored by the Public Security Bureau without notifying the suspect's family. People believe that Article No. 73 is a way of legalising “secret disappearance.” Under this revision, the rights of Chinese citizens are violated. The government agents or officials are not held responsible for their actions when enforcing the law. Ms. Jiang Sihua was in critical condition as a result of being tortured during her 'disappearance.' She was arrested on May 20th, 2008, and was missing for two months. Her family was unable to obtain any information about her.
  • Massive Arrests in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province

    On April 15th, 2008, 610 Officers started arresting Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioner Ms. Li Wei was on a business trip and thus avoided arrest. However, her husband, Yang Haidong, was arrested. Officials from Ms. Li's workplace visited her parents claiming they would guarantee her safety and a normal working environment [if she would return]. After receiving the information, Ms. Li believed that her company officials were sincere, so she returned to work on July 21st. Two 610 Office agents then took her away and admitted her to the Sanshui Brainwashing Centre.
  • Wang Bo' s Uncle Persecuted Under "Orders from Above"

    On the morning of July 7th, 2007, Wang Bo's uncle Gai Wufan went out to buy breakfast, but was stopped by local police officer Zhang Xinzheng, who was waiting outside his residence. Zhang Xinzheng called a van, and two police officers arrived to take Gai Wufan away. They said he needed to complete the paperwork for serving a term outside the labour camp, and sent him immediately to Shijiazhuang Forced Labour Camp. The police explained that they were carrying out orders from higher authorities.
  • Police Kidnap Xing Youlu, Director of Dongpang Coal Mine Region in Hebei Province

    Around the new year of 2007, several Dafa practitioners from the Xingtai Dongpang Coal Mine and Neiqiu County were kidnapped by police because of distributing Falun Gong materials. Another practitioner, Xing Youlu, director of Dongpang Coal Mine Region, was kidnapped as well. Xing Youlu was tortured, hand-cuffed and put in shackles. He was then sent to the Second Detention Centre of Xingtai.
  • Dafa Practitioner Mr. Wang Quanlian from Chenzhou City, Hunan, Kidnapped

    On April 12th, 2007, practitioner Mr. Wang Quanlian was kidnapped at midnight from a room in Zhuzhou city by the National Security Team of Shifeng District Police Station, Zhuzhou City. Without any legitimate reason or legal proceedings, he was imprisoned in the Zhuzhou Second Prison. Mr. Wang was once sentenced to three-years imprisonment secretly by the 610 Office. At present, no one outside China knows his current situation. We only know that Mr. Wang's health is very bad. His family members are extremely worried.
  • France: Urgently Rescuing Falun Gong Practitioner Ma Jian

    Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Ma Jian is the manager of a French PCM Pumping Industry company in their Beijing office, also the general representative of the company in the northern Asian area. In the afternoon of February 28th, Ma Jian was working in Beijing when a dozen policemen rushed into the office. After trying unsuccessfully to take him away for 'investigation', the police beat him and eventually kidnapped him by force.
  • National Security Agents and 610 Office Members in Xiangtan City, Hunan Province Arrest Practitioners

    On February 25th, 2006, the national security agents of Yisuhe Town in Xiangtan County suddenly dispatched over a dozen personnel to practitioner Mr. Liu Heqing's home to confiscate his property. They arrested Mr. Liu, put him into the police vehicle, and sent him to the Xiangtan City Mental Hospital with his feet in shackles. Mr. Liu was injected with drugs that suppress the central nervous system. Afterwards, the doctor discovered that his mental condition was normal, but Mr. Liu was not allowed to be released until after the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) congressional sessions were over.
  • 74-Year-Old Practitioner Ms. Zhang Ping Arrested by 610 Office in Rizhao City, Shandong Province

    Before she started to practise Falun Dafa, 74-year-old Ms. Zhang Ping, suffered from 18 different illnesses, heart disease being the most serious one. After she practised Falun Gong, all 18 illnesses disappeared. She was a kind person, and yet 610 Office officiials arrested her and ransacked her home several times. She and her family suffered tremendously. 30 police officers went to Zhang Ping's home in several police cars. They arrested her when she was going downstairs and dragged her into a police car. When Zhang Ping's granddaughter cried and tried to protect her, the police nearly shoved her to the ground. Zhang Ping shouted, "You're kidnapping me!" The police said in a cold voice, "Yes, that's exactly what we are doing!"
  • Practitioner and Her Son Handcuffed and Taken Away from Their Shop - Mother Unjustly Detained

    Practitioner Ms. Yang Zehui owns a small food shop and treats every customer according to the standards of "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance." She posted the three words at the front of the store on opening day, September 1st, 2006. Local police officers demanded that Ms. Yang remove the three words, which express the essential principles of the practice of Falun Dafa. Ms. Yang Zehui and her family said, "What’s wrong with these three words? We believe in it." Police tore down the three words. Ms. Yang's son tried to reason with them. They pinned her and her son down, handcuffed them, and took them away. The police then detained Ms. Yang.

    We are Falun Gong practitioners and friends of Mr. Cao Dong and Mr. Niu Jinping. Cao Dong went missing after he met with the Vice President of the European Parliament, Mr. Edward McMillan-Scott. His family members are terribly worried for his safety. Many of us have had similar experiences. Suddenly, one day our relatives disappeared and no one knew where they were. After a long time, we learned that they were imprisoned somewhere, or perhaps even something worse happened to them.
  • Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Wang Xiaolun's Whereabouts Unknown, His Wife Arrested when Enquiring about her Husband

    Falun Dafa practitioner Wang Xiaolun is from Hebei Province. After he was detained in the Gaobeidian Detention Centre for a month, personnel from Gaobeidian National Security Division took him away, on the morning of July 7th, 2006. The day before Wang Xiaolun’s wife went to the detention centre and asked for the release of her husband. Instead, she was arrested.
  • Three Disappearances in Beijing and Liaoning Province

    Zhang Zuobin, 56, was a practitioner from Dalian City, Liaoning Province. He disappeared in March 2002 and has been missing for over four years. When Mr. Zhang's family enquired about him at his workplace, they learned that three women and a man had come to see him at around 10:00 a.m. on the day of his disappearance and asked him to go with them. No one has seen or heard from him since. His family remains extremely worried about him.
  • Hong Kong Practitioner Liu Ding Unjustly Detained in Beijing

    My mother and I are permanent residents of Hong Kong. Because my father became paralysed, my mother, Liu Ding, went back to Beijing, and she has been looking after my dad for the past five years. Recently the Chinese Communist Party has deprived her of her freedom and right to look after my critically ill father. On the afternoon of June 6th, 2006, mother took dinner to dad in the hospital as usual. At about 7:30 p.m. she left the hospital. We lost contact with her at that point. It was reported that she is detained in the Public Security Sub-Bureau of Xuanwu District, Beijing City.
