Shibalihe Forced Labour Camp Attempt to Cover up True Reason for Death of Elderly Lady Dafa Practitioner

May 24th report: Dafa practitioner Ms Sun Guilan, around 60 years of age, was a farm worker who lived in Yucheng, Shangqiu City, Henan Province. Sun Guilan was illegally detained at the Shibalihe Forced Labour Camp in Zhenzhou City. Her term expired long ago but the labour camp even more unjustly refused to release her, and would not allow other people to talk to her. They also forced the elderly lady to do hard, exhausting labour and tortured her physically and mentally. The authorities often asked for information about her husband, who is also a Dafa practitioner. They ordered her husband to write a "guarantee statement" saying Sun Guilan had given up her Dafa practice.

One morning, Sun Guilan went to a workshop to do some cleaning as usual. Later, she was found dead beside a sink outside the workshop. Wang Yan, the labour camp chief, said that Sun Guilan, "hung herself on a rope from the water pipe in the toilet." However, according to observations, the water pipe is less than one metre above the floor, so it would have been impossible for Sun Guilan to die from hanging on this pipe. The labour camp tried to use various means to cover up Sun Guilan's death.
