Li Chunyuan said that when he was in the West Building he was often deprived of sleep, forced to kneel on one leg, and to endure other abuses. The persecution he suffered was so severe that he almost collapsed. The prison police in the West Building once told him, "In the Tuanhe Forced Labour Camp, if you are not willing to be transformed you either die or end up crazy." -

2003-05-04In the beginning of 2003, she was reported while she was distributing this material in the countryside. She had committed no crime; her only wish was to tell people the true situation of Falun Gong. On February 11, 2003, she was once again arrested. On February 28, Zheng Lanfeng died of torture. 2003-05-04While in detention, because he firmly cultivated Dafa, he was subjected to both mental and physical torture. As a result, he could not eat, and an x-ray examination showed there was a shadow in his lungs. Not wanting to take responsibility should he die in the labour camp, the camp released him on medical parole in October 2001. However, the camp kept harassing him while he was home recovering. Not being able to recover, Mr. Xu passed away in May 2002. -

2003-05-03On the morning of April 25, 2003, police in the Jinzhou City Labour Camp contacted his family and lied, saying that Shi suddenly got sick with difficulty breathing and lost consciousness, and had been sent to the 205 Hospital Respiratory Department for a rescue effort. Witnesses said, "Shi Zhongyan had been tortured until only skin and bones were left, his toes were purple and blue, and he lost consciousness. He wore a set of cotton jacket and pants without any underwear. He looked like he had been dragged on the ground during the forced feeding." -
In Memory of Practitioner Yao Sanzhong
2003-05-03Practitioners were beaten at these prisoners' whim. Such were the conditions in the camp that Yao Sanzhong lived in. He endured constant physical and mental abuse. He eventually passed away under the torture. Yao was someone who believed in "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance." He was a young teacher who dared to speak the truth and was then taken away from his parents, his wife, his young son, his students and his beloved music career. -

2003-05-02Since September 19, the police chief Liu Wangquan and deputy chief Li Shuoguo mobilised all the officers from the police station to search for him. They arrested all the local Falun Gong practitioners, and everyone who was related to Huang was under surveillance. Some practitioners were used as hostages and were detained at the police station for seven days. Only one practitioner escaped. -

Events Leading up to Falun Dafa Practitioner Li Junchen's Death
2003-05-01The food there was poorly sanitised and wasn't even thoroughly cooked. He had to sleep on the floor [usually concrete which is both hard and cold] and was kept in the dark without any natural light all day. After over 20 days of being illegally detained, he started to suffer from diarrhoea. More than a month later, he gradually became thinner and thinner and his health was steadily deteriorating. However, the public security guards and the chief of detention centre turned a blind eye to Li's suffering. -
Masanjia Forced Labour Camp Murder Female Dafa Practitioner Yet Deny Responsibility
2003-04-30When Zhang Guizhi's family asked to learn the cause of her death, the camp director did not respond. The team leader forbade them to take pictures of her body. Her family noticed wounds on her body and bloodstains in her nose and mouth. There were purple speckles on her body. When asked why her body looked black and blue, the police claimed that a fall while taking a shower triggered her heart problem, which led to her death. -

Police Hide Violence Behind Closed Doors at the Tuanhe Transfer Office and Xin'an Labor Camp in Beijing
2003-04-30Police proclaim to the outside world that Falun Gong practitioners are living a good life in labour camps and that "everyone has a potted flower and a pet gold fish." In fact, those fish were brought by Falun Gong practitioners' families because police ordered them to do so when they came to visit practitioners. Police wanted to use such things to cover their brutal treatment of Falun Gong practitioners.
