  • Older Ms. Liu Yuxian Died Just Months after Release from a Detention Centre

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Yuxian from Jilin City, Jilin Province recently passed away in September 2014, after long term persecution. She was 56 years old. Ms. Liu was arrested again in April 2014 after she was reported for talking to people about Falun Gong and the persecution and taken to Jilin City Detention Centre. After the persecution began on July 20th, 1999, Ms. Liu was repeatedly arrested and detained.
  • 13 Arrested for Demanding a Falun Gong Practitioner's Release

    Thirteen people were arrested outside a brainwashing centre for asking for the release of Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Ye Shumao on October 18th, 2014, two days after Mr. Ye was arrested. Mr. Ye was taken to the Shangying Brainwashing Centre. Of the 12 who remain in custody, several received a 15-day detention notice.
  • Arms Disabled after Enduring Handcuffing Torture for Three Hours

    A Falun Gong practitioner in her fifties was arrested in 2000, in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province. When Li Xiejiang from the Jinzhou 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) interrogated her, he handcuffed her arms behind her back for three hours, in a way that left her permanently disabled.

    On June 16th, 2005, our sister Gao Rongrong was persecuted to death. Rongrong was brave. We don't know what happened to her in her last three months, except that she had been kept alone. We never got to see Rongrong's body; the authorities had disposed of it almost immediately. She had used her own life to show the world the brutal, ugly truth behind the Communist regime in China.

  • Prison Known for Using Psychotropic Drugs Suspected of Claiming Another Victim

    A 57-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, Mr. Zhang Wenlong, was sentenced to a three-year term and sent directly to prison 15 days after his arrest on February 18th, 2014. When his family went to see him on October 13th, 2014, he was incoherent and didn't recognise them. The “crime” he was sentenced for was distributing literature that exposed the persecution of Falun Gong.
  • College Professor Locked in Solitary Confinement for Seven Days, Subjected to Freezing and Starvation

    Guards at Daqing Prison recently put Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Baosheng into a solitary confinement cell for seven days and tortured him various ways. Mr. Zhang, 52, is a former professor at Heilongjiang College of Construction. He was sentenced to five years in prison in 2012 for singing a Falun Gong related song at a wedding. He has been detained in Daqing Prison since October 2012.

Her two older sisters now living outside of China share their family's pain with the public in hopes that more people can see through the Chinese Communist Party's brutality and stand up against the senseless persecution.

  • Practitioner Arrested for Browsing Falun Gong Website

    Mr. Jin Biao was arrested and put on trial for browsing Falun Gong websites. This case might shed some light on the communist regime's surveillance of the Internet. The Chinese Internet police, based in Dandong City, Liaoning Province, discovered that Mr. Jin was browsing Falun Gong websites on his mobile phone at his home in Fengcheng City on July 2nd and they arrested him. The Dandong police ordered the Fengcheng police to arrest him.
  • Bakery Owner Dies at Home Soon After Suffering 90 Days of Abuse in Detention

    When bakery owner Wang Haijin was released on July 22nd of this year, he didn't think he'd come home alive. He had suffered unimaginable abuse, including force-feeding, beatings, sexual assault and forced labour, during a 90-day incarceration for his belief in Falun Gong, a self-cultivation practice being persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party. Mr. Wang finally succumbed to heart problems. He passed away in the early morning of October 9th, leaving behind his wife and two school-age daughters.
  • Shenyang Entrepreneur Arrested and Tortured for Practising Falun Gong

    Once a successful entrepreneur who did international trade between China and Ukraine, a 47-year-old Shenyang man saw his livelihood crushed by the Chinese Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong. Mr. Ouyang Hongbo was sentenced to three years in March 2007, just months after he began to practise Falun Gong. By the time he was released in 2010, he had lost his business. He moved back home to care for his 83-year-old father, only to be arrested again four years later.
  • Practitioners Tortured, Disfigured, and Sexually Violated With Burning Cigarettes

    Cigarettes have been used to torture practitioners everywhere on the body and in every which way during the persecution of Falun Gong. Ms. Xiao Yi, 19, was taken to the Changzhi Mental Hospital in Shanxi Province for further torture. Guards there raped her 14 times over the course of three nights. The guards who raped her burned her nipples, breasts, and genitals with cigarettes, leaving numerous burn marks on her body.
  • Officer Identified as Culprit in Gruesome August Torture Death

    Wu Jilong, head of the Domestic Security Division at Tumen City Police Department, has been identified as the main culprit in the death of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Shuxian. She died the day after her arrest. Local authorities claimed that she had a heart attack, but marks of torture on her body proved otherwise. There were cuts in the flesh on her thighs and burns around her private area. Marks of blood and shoeprints were visible on her back.
  • Looking Beyond the Product Label: Filthy Toothpicks Made by Forced Labour

    In Wangfangdian Detention Centre in southern Liaoning Province, detainees are made to do forced labour for long periods of time. The products they make include toothpicks in assorted colours, the kind often used in restaurants, hotels, and homes. Detainees here refuse to use these toothpicks, as they were produced in terribly unsanitary conditions. Forced labour in these detention centres peaked between 2000 and 2002, when the Chinese Communist regime's persecution of Falun Gong was at its most rampant and a large number of practitioners were detained there.
