Details of the Persecution in Detention Centre of the Jilin City Police Department (Reenactment Photos)

To protest the persecution in the detention centre, Ms. Dong held a hunger strike, refusing to eat or drink. Police force-fed her with a substance mixed with some unknown drugs. Every time they force-fed her, they forced the tube into Ms. Dong two, three, sometimes even four or five times, causing great pain. Sometimes she was almost suffocated by the force-feeding. -
65 Year Old Ms. Gao Xizhen Died in January 2005 As a Result of the Persecution

In October 2003, Ms. Gao Xizhen was reported to the police while posting Falun Dafa leaflets exposing the persecution. The police arrested her and beat her until she suffered bleeding in her brain. She passed out, but the police did not take her to the hospital for treatment. Instead they drove her to her house, dragged her in a semi-conscious state and robbed her of more than 1000 yuan. Her family sent her to the hospital where they found that Ms. Gao had blood clots in her brain. Since the injury, Gao Xizhen often lost her memory or passed out and fell to the floor. On the afternoon of January 23, 2005, she passed out again but never regained consciousness. -
Three Older Practitioners from Hebei Province Die as a Result of Persecution
2005-05-08In October 2002 59 year old Mr. Wang Xiaoshan was arrested for the second time. After seven months of torture at a detention centre, he was sent to a forced labour camp. In early 2005, Mr. Wang experienced heart failure from the horrifying abuse he suffered, and was released on medical parole on February 6. Later, he was arrested again, and was released only after paying a 1,000 yuan fine. For an impoverished family that has endured persecution for many years, 1,000 yuan was a large amount of money. Wang Xiaoshan passed away on March 27, 2005. -
Police from Shandong Railroad System Arrest Falun Gong Practitioners Using Despicable Means
2005-05-07Shandong Province began a second large-scale arrest directed at Falun Gong practitioners and implemented a form of martial law. This spread to the railroad system, where officials used despicable means to arrest Falun Gong practitioners. At the entrance and exit of every railroad station in Shangdong Province, the police set up computers, and on-call officers are present around the clock. Most of these officers came from prisons and labour camps. They force any passenger that they suspect to be a Falun Gong practitioner to show his or her ID. -
Thirteen Falun Dafa Practitioners Died in the Persecution
2005-05-07Miss Zhang Zheng, 14 years old, was a middle school student in Anhui Province. She was a good student with high morals. She went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong and was unjustly sent to a forced labour camp. During her detention, her home was ransacked and searched several times. She was frightened and under intense pressure. She was not allowed to continue doing the Falun Gong exercises or study any Falun Gong books. In November 2000, she showed symptoms of leukemia and died in February 2001. -
Seven Falun Dafa Practitioners Who Died Under Persecution
2005-05-07In 2000, 39-year-old Ms. Wang Wanzhen went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa, after which the persecutors detained her in a house where they took her shoes away and handcuffed her to a door handle. With her hands shackled to the door handle, she could neither stand up straight nor squat down, with her bare feet on a concrete floor. After members of her family picked her up and took her home, the police came many times to harass Ms. Wang at home. She died in March 2001 as a result of the huge mental pressures inflicted on her. -
Six Falun Dafa Practitioners Die as a Result of Persecution
2005-05-07After a period of practising Falun Dafa 70 year old Mr. Sun Zhaoben's white hair turned black. He maintained a high moral standard, and he was well thought of in his hometown. In March 2003, he was arrested by a female police officer sent to the County 610 Office, detained for 21 days and had to pay two thousand yuan in extortion money for his release. He suffered numerous tortures during his detention, which caused him severe physical harm. He died on August 4, 2003. -
Three Falun Dafa Practitioners Missing After Appealing in Beijing
2005-05-06Miss Cheng Fengjun is about 60 years old, and is from a village near Longkou City. She was arrested in late 2000, and her whereabouts remain unknown. She was taken to a brainwashing centre at Jinglao Centre the day after her arrest, and she has been missing ever since. But sources reported that she stayed there for one day and disappeared the next day. There has been no news about her. -
Fifteen-year-old Boy Takes Poison and Dies After Mother Is Sent to Forced Labour Camp
2005-05-0639 year old Ms. Guan Shujun, was sent to a forced labour camp from January 2001 to June 2003, for being a Falun Gong practitioner. Her fifteen-year-old son who did not practise Falun Gong, Wang Xiaoshuai, was miserable at having lost his mother and then had to endure the other students' dirty looks and gossip. He was unable to bear the trauma and took poison and died on August 30, 2001. -
The Cruelty of the "Falun Gong Special Team" in Hunan Province
2005-05-06After the brutal persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999, a group of the most inhumane policemen were selected from villages, districts, and towns under Jinshi city to form a "Falun Gong Special Team". The objective of this team was to torture Falun Gong practitioners who were illegally arrested and imprisoned within the Jinshi City police station. One practitioner, Ms. Zhang Hengying, was arrested for trying to appeal to the government in Beijing on behalf of Falun Gong and sent to the Jinshi City police station, where she was tied up and whipped by policemen from this special team. -
Fifty-nine-year-old Practitioner Liu Guixiang from Shandong Province Died As a Result of Persecution
2005-05-06Ms. Liu Guixiang was 59 years old. Since practising Falun Gong, all of her previous ailments such as heart disease, high blood pressure and kidney disease were cured. Around October, 2001, town officials arrested her for appealing in Beijing. She was ruthlessly beaten up and forced to pay a fine. Due to the long-term harassment and threats, her heart disease recurred and she passed away on October 18, 2004. -
Ms. Sun Guihua Tortured to Death in Shenyang Women's Prison in 2003
2005-05-05In May 2003, practitioner Ms. Sun Guihua was detained in prison for practising Falun Gong. Inmates were incited to to brainwash Ms. Sun, they forced her to recite the prison regulations, and punished her for not cooperating with them. They tortured her by starving her, and depriving her of water and sleep and the toilet. Ms. Sun refused to participate in the forced labour during the daytime. As punishment, she was forced to stand in the toilet until midnight. Ms. Sun was tortured like this for three days. On the morning of the fourth day, inmates got up and tried to awaken Ms. Sun, shouting at her and beating her. She did not respond and died shortly after. -
Hebei Province Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Yan Haibo Killed by the "610 Office", the Public Security and Baoding Forced Labour Camp
2005-05-05Mr. Yan Haibo, a 33 year old practitioner was arrested several times for appealing for Falun Gong. At the end of July 2002, he was kidnapped and taken to the police station, where he was severely tortured. Later he was detained for two and a half years at a forced labour camp, where the cruel torture continued. Because of the constant, long-term pressure from such terror tactics, Mr. Yan's spirit was broken. By late February 2005, Mr. Yan's physical health had deteriorated beyond repair. A hospital in Beijing diagnosed him as having kidney failure, cerebral oedema, and haemorrhaging in the eye. He died on March 31, 2005. -
Nineteen Dafa Practitioners Die After Harassment and Persecution in Hunan, Shandong, Jilin and Liaoning Provinces
2005-05-05Ms. Yuan Wenshu, 58, was a retired high school teacher living in the school grounds. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, she went to the Provincial Capital and Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Dafa. She was detained, harassed and threatened numerous times by officials from the school, the police, and the public security bureau. She could no longer practise Falun Gong freely, and her family would even question her on calls received from her students. She lived under constant terror. In April 2002 the principal of the school called her and ordered her to report to the school. After learning that they intended to arrest her upon arriving at the school, she decided to escape. She left. While away from her home, she detected a lump in her breast. On November 4, 2002, she was lured to the school and detained by the police for 15 days. Her health deteriorated afterwards, and she died on April 12, 2005. -
After the Chinese Government Began to Persecute Falun Gong, My Life Changed
2005-05-05I started to practise Falun Gong in 1998. After becoming a practitioner, I soon gave up the bad habit of smoking. I felt incredible relaxation, mental clarity and freedom from stress. But after the persecution began my life changed. Being a practitioner, the Chinese police detained me five times. During my time in jail, I suffered all kinds of corporal punishment. For example, the policemen locked my hands and feet in special punishment equipment, they blocked my mouth, took off all my clothes, electric shocked my buttocks, and more. The torture left me with multiple scars on my hip. I was in despair while living in China. Thankfully I got an opportunity to escape to Africa, where I was granted refugee status.
