  • Kind hearted Physician Tortured with Drugs at Dashan Detention Centre in Qingdao City

    Ms. Wu Xin was repeatedly deprived of her right to visit her imprisoned mother at the Dashan Detention Centre in Qingdao City. Only recently was she granted permission to meet with her. When she first saw her mother, she could hardly believe her eyes, "Is this old, haggard, and skinny lady my once-beautiful mother whom I've longed to see?!" Ms. Wu Xiuxin, a physician, was arrested because she practised Falun Gong. After a short while at the detention centre, she was reduced to skin and bones, and it was hard to recognize her. This was due in part to the guards injecting her with and force-feeding her toxic drugs. Often times the drugs were mixed directly into the practitioner's food. In addition, she was regularly tortured both physically and mentally.
  • Practitioner Ms. Liu Hongmei from Heilongjiang Province Repeatedly Arrested and Brainwashed

    On December 8th, 2000 Ms. Liu Hongmei, 42, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She was arrested and detained and hung up with her hands cuffed to the wall. Ms. Liu was sentenced to a one-year term at the Wanjia Forced Labour Camp where she was forced to work, sit straight on a small bench for long periods of time and read articles and watch videos slandering Falun Gong. Because she remained steadfast in her belief in Falun Gong she was isolated and mistreated in a dark and humid cell for long periods of time. As a result she developed scabies all over her body and became unable to look after herself. Being afraid that she might die, the labour camp released her. Officials at her workplace confiscated over 6,000 yuan from her husband's salary.
  • Elderly Practitioners Tortured at Henan Province Women's Prison

    There are approximately 200 Falun Gong practitioners detained at Henan Province Women's Prison (also known as the Xinxiang Women's Prison). In 2005, it was recognized as a "model" ministerial-level prison because of the way the guards there viciously tortured practitioners. The majority of the practitioners are elderly women, the oldest being over 70 years old. The guards force them to string pearls together, the smallest pearl being the size of a grain of rice and the largest one being the size of a soybean. Because the holes in the pearls are so tiny, the women have to wear high-powered reading glasses when stringing them together. After bending over a work table for long periods of time, many practitioners could not endure it and started to experience symptoms of high blood pressure, with some even becoming bedridden.
  • Persecution Account of Mr. Bai Erhong and His Wife in Pingshan County, Hebei Province

    Mr. Bai Erhong and his wife Ms. Luo Shengqiao were persecuted by the authorities in 2005 and 2008 for steadfastly practising Falun Gong. Mr. Bai and his wife went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. They were arrested on separate occasions and were detained in the Pingshan Police Station. Once, when the police forced Ms. Luo to stand for a long period of time, Ms. Luo said, "Since you don't let me sit, I'll just practise the exercises." The police then violently hit her arms and hands with a broom and ordered her to sit down. They also took away some cash Ms. Luo had with her at the time. They did not let her eat anything while she was detained in a detention centre for two days. The couple had to pay 700 yuan before they were released.
  • Ten Years of Persecution Carried Out by the Hunan Province Post Office Administration

    In 2000 at the Hengyang Post Office, CCP Deputy Secretary Zhou Kun assembled employees for a meeting. Zhou said, "This is the third investigation of Falun Gong. If that retired worker was fined 3,000 yuan last time, this time fine him 5,000 yuan again. Let's destroy them financially, let him have no money for food, and see if he still appeals. Retired people who practise Falun Gong must report to the Office of Retirement Administration and not be allowed to leave Hengyang."
  • Crimes Committed by the 610 Office of Guan County, Shandong Province in June 2009

    On June 12th, Li Ruyao, who was in her ninth month of pregnancy, was descended upon by more than twenty people from Guancheng Township government. They forcibly dragged her to the Maternal and Paediatric Health Centre for a forced abortion. Six men held her down on a bed and injected the medicine for induction. Li Ruyao attempted with all her might to break loose but to no avail. One hour later, both mother and the unborn infant were killed. More than a dozen of reporters from different TV stations and newspapers went to report on the tragic scene. Police officers were ordered to arrest anyone who dared any attempt to speak to reporters.

    In May 2008, prior to the Beijing Olympics, I lost my job, family, and home simply for practising Falun Gong. Detention and torture had rendered me disabled. I decided to go to Beijing to appeal and seek justice for Falun Gong and myself. Over the past ten years, since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, I have been incarcerated for close to eight of those years. While locked up, I was subjected to numerous torture methods. The worst of the torture methods was called the death bed. It is a double bed. They tie you up on it, with arms and legs stretched out and with an air cushion under your buttocks to make your arms and legs stretched even harder. At night in the summer, they let mosquitoes bite you. At least three times I almost lost my life.
  • Harbin Police Torture and Fabricate Evidence against Mr. Li Zhigang

    Li Zhigang from Harbin, Heilongjiang Province was arrested on February 28th 2009. He suffered severe torture, causing him to have a high fever, which later caused him to develop tuberculosis. The Nangang District Police Department has refused to release him as of now. They even referred the case to a higher department, and attempted to sentence him in court. On April 14th, the Nangang Procurator withdrew Li Zhigang's case on the basis of insufficient evidence. However, the Nangang District Police Department still continue to submit fabricated evidence, attempting to sentence Li Zhigang. The case has now been sent to the Nangang Court.
  • Cruel Torture Methods in Beijing Women's Forced Labour Camp

    There are eight regular wards in the Beijing Women's Forced Labour Camp and one training ward, and in total they hold more than eight hundred people, 80 per cent of whom are Falun Gong practitioners. Among these practitioners, more than 70 per cent are senior practitioners aged 50-70 years old. They are forced daily to do slave labour for nearly 10 hours, and this time does not include the weed-pulling they do before breakfast or after dinner. Prisoners are used as torturers; they are given special privileges to beat or curse practitioners at will, steal practitioners' belongings, and force practitioners to watch slanderous DVDs or read slanderous materials.
  • Ms. Jiang Fengying from Nanchang City Tortured

    Ms. Jiang Fengying has been victimized several times since the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999. In Jiangxi Provincial Woman's Forced Labour Camp prisoners beat and scolded Ms. Jiang and forced her to do slave labour. She protested with a hunger strike. But the police beat her with a rope and refused to release her even after her sentence was complete. On July 17th, 2002, police officers in the Donghu Branch of Nanchang City Public Security Bureau chained and tortured Ms. Jiang, when she was on her 6th day of a hunger strike. The policemen tore her hair, beat her mouth and her body, stomped on her big toe with the heel of a shoe, hit her head against a steel pillar, and beat her legs using iron bars.
  • Gang Torture Method Used at Zhanjiang City Brainwashing Centre

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. He Zhiwei was brutally tortured by the guards at the Zhanjiang City Brainwashing Centre leaving her with a protruding disc, severe headaches, and dizziness. The guards use people as instruments of torture. The gang torture method works as follows: A practitioner is taken to a room where they are surrounded by a group of people who force the practitioner to stand up. Some people strike the practitioner's head while others attack the practitioner's body. When hitting the practitioner's head, some guards push the practitioner with an open palm, others punch with their fists. At the same time they constantly curse and bully the practitioner with vicious words.
  • Mr. Wang Chengtao Dangerously Emaciated and Mentally Disoriented from Torture in Prison

    Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20th, 1999, Mr. Wang Chengtao has been relentlessly harassed, tortured, monitored, fined, and detained. In April of 2003, homeless and trying to avoid further persecution, Mr. Wang was taken by the police. He was later sentenced to 11 years imprisonment. He is currently being tortured in Shenyang City's Second Prison. As a result, he is now skin and bones and mentally disoriented Mr. Wang's father was in perfect health until he learned about his son's prison sentence. His father passed away on February 17th, 2009. The father and son did not have a chance to see each other one last time.
  • Police Arrest and Brutally Torture Ms. Yang Wenjie and Ransack Her Home

    On June 1st, 2009, Ms. Yang Wenjie was about to leave her home and had just walked down the stairs when she was arrested by over twenty police from the Zhaoyuan Police Department. As soon as they saw Ms. Yang, they surrounded her, beat and kicked her to the ground, grabbed her arms, stole her house key, and handcuffed her hands behind her back before dragging her into a car. They ransacked her home and confiscated Ms. Yang's friend's computer, printer and various Falun Gong books.
  • The Persecution of Practitioners Employed by Kunming Steel Company, Yunnan Province

    Ms. Guan Hongfen, in her forties, was reported while she was telling people the facts about Falun Gong in a certain village in An'ning City in early 2009. Luckily, she escaped. In March she was arrested by 610 Office personnel and national security police in the An'ning City Police Department, sentenced to two years of forced labour, and taken to the Dabanqiao (also known as the "ten-thousand-people pit"). Another practitioner, who had gone along with Ms. Guan to inform people about the persecution of Falun Gong was also arrested. Her situation is not clear.
  • Former Elementary School Principal Dies after Severe Persecution

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Tan Deyi lived in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. At a forced labour camp, Mr. Tan was forced to make toothpicks. If he could not complete the daily work quota, he was not allowed to eat or sleep and had to work overtime. Mr. Tan resisted, so the guards tortured him by piercing his fingertips with sharp bamboo sticks, hanging him up, and other methods. As a result of gross abuse he suffered from recurring abdominal pain and was unable to do heavy work. Mr. Tan He died at home on June 25th, 2009, at the age of 59.
