Three Farmers from Jingle County, Shanxi Province Sentenced to Forced Labour

On August 16th, three practitioners Mr. Wang Jiuhuan, 67 years old; Mr. Shang Xiwei, 56 years old; and Mr. Shang Cunwei, 58 years old from Shenjia Village in Shanxi Province were taken away by County and Town police and detained in the county detention centre. They have been sentenced to forced labour. Mr. Wang, who is nearly 70 years old, was tortured during interrogation. His arrest has brought pain to his family, who cannot understand why this innocent man was detained. -
Mr. Ci Hai from Qiqihar Dies after Enduring Torture in Tailai Prison
2011-09-05Mr. Ci Hai developed liver ascites and other illnesses after enduring many years of mental and physical abuse by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). In 2006, he was sentenced to four years in prison by the Tiefeng District Court. Mr. Ci was finally released in 2011 after four years of brutal torture. He no longer had a job and had no income. He was in a deep depression and developed liver ascites and other illnesses. He became emaciated and his complexion turned yellowish. He developed many pustules all over his body. The pustules burst and discharged pus. Mr. Ci died in great pain on the evening of August 23rd at the age of 39. -
Ms. Guo Min Dies after Eleven Years of Unjust Confinement in a Mental Hospital
2011-09-05Ms. Guo Min began cultivating Falun Gong in 1996, and benefited both in mind and body. In March 2000, the persecution escalated, but she did not want to give up her faith even though she was under huge pressure from her family, employer, and the community. She was arrested and taken to mental hospitals, where she was locked up for more than eight years. People still saw that she had a clear mind, with no mental illness symptoms. She endured physical and mental tortures. She had been haemorrhaging since July 2010, and the doctor found that she was in the late stages of uterine cancer. She died on August 4th. -
Older Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Cui Peiying from Beijing Died after Years of Persecution and Torture in Detention
2011-09-05Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Cui Peiying was incarcerated in forced labour camps twice. As a result of torture and abuse, her health kept deteriorating. Ms. Cui's legs were swollen and she was in great pain. They cut an opening in her legs to drain them of pus and blood. The swelling disappeared only after the pus and blood were drained. In July 2011, Ms. Cui started to have bladder and bowel incontinence and eventually wasn't able to take care of herself. She passed away on August 19th. -
Doctor Su Gang Is in Critical Condition at the Guozhen Forced Labour Camp in Shaanxi Province
2011-09-05Mr. Su Gang was subjected to eighteen months in a forced labour camp after he was arrested in May 2011 in Baoji, Shaanxi Province. He was taken to the Third Brigade of the Guozheng Forced Labour Camp, also called Shaanxi Qinling Copper Factory. As a result of torture, he was unable to walk or take care of himself, and developed tuberculosis. Mr. Su Gang was repeatedly beaten by the “beater team”. They subjected him to various tortures, such as splitting the legs, standing punishment, squat punishment, sleep deprivation. The labour camp did not give him any medical care. Mr. Su Gang went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. He is now in critical condition. -
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhou Kailan from Chongqing City on the Verge of Death Due to Force-feeding
2011-09-04On July 24th, the authorities at the Wanzhou District Brainwashing Centre in Chongqing began force-feeding Ms. Zhou Kailan, who had been on a hunger strike for four days in protest of being detained and persecuted. A dozen officials held her down, some holding her feet and legs, some restraining her hands and arms, and several retraining her head. They then inserted a tube, more than a metre long, down one of her nostrils and into her throat. The violent insertion caused excruciating pain, and Ms. Zhou repeatedly screamed in desperation. After a while, white foam gushed out of her mouth. A doctor wiped it off with a towel, and they continued to force-feed her. Soon after, Ms. Zhou stopped moving. -
The Guards Tortured Ms. Liu Shanzhen, a Disabled Farmer, Broke Her Legs and Drove Her to a Mental Collapse
2011-09-04Ms. Liu Shanzhen was just released by Tumen City Police Department. Prior to being persecuted, Ms. Liu was an articulate speaker, but now she responds with laughs, just like someone suffering from dementia. On December 14th, 2008, Domestic Security Division agents from the police department arrested her simply because of her faith in the principles of Falun Gong, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. While Ms. Liu was held in the Anshan Detention Centre, guards broke her already disabled legs and tore a tendon. Now her foot dangles from her leg, because the tendon was never repaired since she was injured three years ago. In July 2009, the Tumen City Court secretly put Ms. Liu Shanzhen on trial. The Court, under the control of the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), sentenced Ms. Liu to four years in prison. -
Ms. Song Ping Suffering Severe Persecution in Shenyang Women's Prison After Receiving Seven-Year Sentence
2011-09-04Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Song Ping was arrested when she was telling people the facts about Falun Gong on the street in mid-December 2006. A Zhuanghe City Court sentenced her to seven years in prison. She is imprisoned in Shenyang City Women's Prison and has become extremely weak due to severe persecution. In Shenyang City Women's Prison, Ms. Song has been forced to work long hours and tortured both mentally and physically. She is very thin and her hair has turned white. -
Details of the Persecution of Falun Gong Ms. Zhou Xiuli from Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province
2011-09-04Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhou Xiuli was arrested on June 16th by Nancha District 610 Office agents (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). She was detained in a brainwashing centre for 23 days. During her detention, her daughter was taken to a brainwashing centre twice and was detained for 10 days. Ms. Zhou has been persecuted and tortured numerous times by the communist regime because she refuses to give up the practice of Falun Gong. -
Lanzhou City Practitioners Dr. Luo Yongde and Wife Ms. Xin Xiangcao Suffer Years of Persecution (Part 1)
2011-09-03Falun Gong practitioners Dr. Luo Yongde and wife Ms. Xin Xiangcao live in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province. Their homes were ransacked multiple times by the local police and they were arrested, detained, and taken to a forced labour camp multiple times, causing great physical and mental suffering. Their son does not practise Falun Gong, yet he was tortured for 11 days with a “Tiger Bench” by the police. -
Ms. Sun Lanping from Lanzhou City Arrested Again, Taken to Gongjiawan Brainwashing Centre
2011-09-03On July 26th, 2011, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Sun Lanping was taking care of her disabled mother, in her mother's home. She was about to return home when police arrested her and took her to the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Centre. Not long after 8:00 p.m., her family came to the brainwashing centre to see her, but they were denied visitation. Her current status is unknown. Ms. Sun was persecuted on several occasions over the past ten years. She was arrested by police in June 2001. She was then taken to the Lanzhou Dashaping Detention Centre for six weeks. Following her detention, she was imprisoned at the Pingantai First Forced Labour Camp for one year and six months. -
Practitioners Tortured by the Congtai Police in Handan City
2011-09-03The main persecutors of Falun Gong practitioners in Handan city, Hebei Province are director Niu Shengmin and Wang Yongxiang, the political commissar of the Congtai police department. Many Falun Gong practitioners were injured to the point of physical disability and suffered extreme mental distress and trauma. Also, they were sent to forced labour camps. Others were forced to get divorced and separate from their families or be killed. Many are still in jail or a forced labour camp. -
A Female Farmer from Tancheng County, Shandong Province Arrested Again After Having Been Released from a Three-Year Forced Labour Term
2011-09-03Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wu Shaoxia was sentenced to a three-year forced labour term in 2008 and was released in late 2010. She was arrested again in August 2011. The police also arrested her non-practitioner daughter and her grandsons, one about three years old and the other about a year old. The police detained her daughter and grandsons for half a day before releasing them but continue to detain Ms. Wu. -
After Serving Two Forced Labour Camp Terms, Mr. Hao Fengyi from Longhua County, Hebei Province is Arrested Again
2011-09-02Mr. Hao started practising Falun Gong in 1996, and has benefited both physically and mentally from the practice. On July 20th, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began the persecution of Falun Gong, and Mr. Hao has since been arrested and harassed many times. He was held in a forced labour camp twice. On August 8th, 2011, officers from the Domestic Security Division of Chengde Police Department arrested him again. He has four children, and the youngest is only eight-months old. His mother is in her seventies. His wife cares for the farm and the family by herself. Mr. Hao is being held at the Shuangluan Brainwashing Centre. -
Mr. Ni Zhenxuan from Shijiazhuang City Sentenced to Three and a Half Years of Forced Labour
2011-09-02Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Ni Zhenxuan, 66, was sentenced to three and a half years of forced labour, from March 5th, 2011 to September 4th, 2014. The police ransacked Mr. Ni's home and confiscated their personal belongings, including a satellite TV dish, a satellite TV receiver, and a computer. Later that day, the police broke into Mr. Ni’s sofa factory and confiscated printing equipment. Mr. Ni was taken into custody at his workplace. He has announced his intention to appeal.
