  • Mr. Feng Qi Dies as a Result of Persecution in Suzhou No. 3 Prison, Anhui Province

    Mr. Feng Qi was arrested on March 1st, 2008 and he was taken to the Changfeng County Detention Centre. Mr. Feng was sentenced to three years in a forced labour camp, and was transferred to the Suzhou No. 3 Prison. Practitioners are forced to watch videos and read materials slandering Falun Gong. Whenever practitioners refuse, guards order inmates to beat them. Mr. Feng was left physically disabled as a result of the torture he endured. Mr. Feng Qi passed away on July 31st.
  • School Teacher Ms. Zhang Shuling from Suihua, Heilongjiang Province Dies As a Result of Persecution

    Teacher Ms. Zhang Shuling was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division on July 5th, and later held in the Nongken Detention Centre in Suihua City. She passed away on July 30th. Ms. Zhang taught her students according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, but had been subjected many times to persecution at the hands of local police and her school officials. She was fired from her job, and was arrested on November 26th, 2003 as she was distributing information about Falun Gong and given a three-year prison term. The three-year persecution left Ms. Zhang physically and mentally devastated.
  • Persecution Details of Falun Gong Practitioner Zhou Lianying

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhou Lianying has been arrested five times during the past 12 year since the persecution launched by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began. Her home has been ransacked seven times, and her daughter was suspended from middle school due to her belief. Ms. Zhou has been subjected to beatings, slave labour, and three years in a forced labour camp. The health she regained after cultivation was ruined, and she was in critical condition when released.
  • Engineer Mr. Ma Zhenyu Brutally Interrogated at Xiaguan Detention Centre

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Ma Zhenyu was arrested by police about two months ago. On the street, police savagely beat him. He was brutally interrogated and underwent brainwashing at the Xiaguan Detention Centre. However, simply because he practises Falun Gong, he was arrested by the Chinese authorities several times and had previously been imprisoned for seven years at Suzhou Prison.
  • Mr. Ouyang Haiwen Sentenced to Four Years in Prison for Practising Falun Gong

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Ouyang Haiwen, 56, once travelled to Beijing to speak out for Falun Gong, only to end up being beaten by Chinese police and suffering from intracranial bleeding. He was later sentenced to two years in a forced labour camp for sharing important facts about Falun Gong. He once suffered from the brutal torture of being force fed for several months because he had protested being thrown into a forced brainwashing facility for practising Falun Gong. He was at the brink of death several times because he went on hunger strikes as a non-violent means to protest his unconstitutional incarceration. Not long ago, while he was connected to IV fluids and an oxgen tank, a group of medical staff took him to court for a sham trial because he had practised Falun Gong; yet he appeared in court, dignified.
  • Falun Gong Practitioner's Teenage Daughter Taken Hostage by Tianjin State Security Bureau

    On July 20th, 2011, Li Yang, the teenage daughter of Ms. Yang Chunxiang, a Falun Gong practitioner in Tianjin, was arrested by officers of the Tianjin State Security Bureau. It was rumoured that Li Yang might be released in exchange for Ms. Yang Chunxiang. Ms. Yang Chunxiang and her daughter went out to distribute leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong on May 12th. When someone reported the pair's activities to the police, Ms. Yang and her daughter were arrested by police.
  • Practitioners Severely Injured After Being Chased By Police in Jixiang County, Shandong Province

    Ms. Song Furong, 66, Ms. Liu Dali, in her forties, Ms. Liu Jing, 48, and another practitioner were reported to the police when they were seen distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong in Jintun County, Shandong Province. Four police cars were driving in the wrong direction on State Highway on July 16th, causing panic and chaos, to try and catch practitioners riding motorcycles. One of the motorcycles crashed and the rider fell, breaking several bones and leaving her unconscious. The second motorcycle stopped to help, and the two ladies on it were arrested and sent to Jixiang Police Station.
  • Police Shoot at Peaceful Falun Gong Practitioner During Arrest

    On May 23rd, 2011, police discharged their weapons while arresting a Falun Gong practitioner as he was working in a field. Mr. Sun Yi was arrested by local police while doing farm work. Although officers shot at Mr. Sun, he was fortunately not injured. Mr. Sun is currently being held in the Mianyang Detention Centre. Previously, Mr. Sun was sent to to a forced labour camp for 18 months.
  • Ms. Ding Zhenfang, 62, Dies after Three Years of Barbaric Torture in Liaoning Women's Prison

    Ms. Ding Zhenfang, 62, died as a result of torture in Liaoning Province Women's Prison on August 1st. Ms. Ding was sentenced to eight years in prison in July 2008 and has been incarcerated in the Liaoning Province Women's Prison. Trying to force her to give up her faith, the prison authorities put her in a small confinement cell and used all kinds of ruthless methods to torture her. When Ms. Ding's family members arrived to see her one afternoon in September 2008, prison officials made all kinds of excuses to keep them from seeing her. When her family went to see her two years later, on August 2nd, 2010, the prison authorities only allowed her husband to see her after prolonged negotiation. She was carried out of her prison cell on a stretcher; she was skeleton-like, spoke haltingly, and was very feeble.
  • Ms. Wu Hanbing from Chengde City, Hebei Province Suffers Brutal Persecution at the Hands of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP); Family Torn Apart

    Ms. Wu Hanbing benefited greatly from Falun Gong, both physically and mentally. Ever since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started its persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, she has suffered mental, physical and financial persecution at the hands of the CCP because of her belief in Falun Gong. In 2009, Wu Hanbing was sentenced to one year and nine months of forced labour again. On May 15th, 2011, one month before Wu Hanbing was released from the forced labour camp, the two houses she owned were demolished against her will by the city construction planning department using bulldozers. At that time, she was imprisoned at a forced labour camp.
  • Ms. Wang Ping from Wuhe County, Anhui Province, Once Again Subjected to Forced Labour

    Ms. Wang Ping, about 40 years old, was sentenced to a two-year forced labour term. She was taken to Hefei Women's Forced Labour Camp in early July, 2011. It was learned that Ms. Wang suffered a nervous breakdown during her previous incarceration at the Anhui Province Women's Forced Labour Camp. In January 2005, she was given a two-year forced labour term (one year on medical parole). Anhui Province Women's Forced Labour Camp guards secretly detained her in a solitary confinement cell, where they beat her daily and forced her to write “thought reports.” If she didn't write them, she was deprived of sleep. Occasionally she was allowed to sleep at 1:00 or 2:00 a.m., but she would be awakened at 4:00 a.m., so the police could torture her again. Because she refused to be “reformed” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] she was often severely beaten.
  • Ms. Yang Xiaohua, 42, from Chifeng City Passed Away in 2007

    When Ms. Yang Xiaohua's husband left her and her daughter, she became seriously ill. She was very poor and could not afford medical treatment, so she suffered from her illnesses for many years. After she began to practise Falun Gong, all of her illnesses soon disappeared and her health improved. In 2001, a policeman went to Ms. Yang's home and shouted at her angrily, saying that he had not been given bonuses and was not promoted because she practised Falun Gong. He then arrested her and took her to the police station. Ms. Yang was detained for several months, and was then transferred to the Tumuji Forced Labour Camp in Inner Mongolia in November 2001. She was made to do forced labour and was tortured every day at the camp. Unable to continue practising Falun Gong, her physical health quickly deteriorated. After her release in March 2003, Ms. Yang was continually harassed and threatened by the authorities. Ms. Yang Xiaohua passed away in 2007.
  • Older Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Ou Jiafa from Chenxi County, Hunan Province, Died from Forced Administration of Unknown Drugs

    Mr. Ou Jiafa, in his 60s, died in May 2011. In 2002, he was sentenced to three years in prison for practicing Falun Gong. He was held in the Huaihua City Brainwashing Centre in September 2007. Those in charge forced Mr. Ou to take drugs that destroyed his central nervous system. As a result he walked slowly, drooled, and spoke unintelligibly. He never recovered. Chenyang Town 610 Office personnel (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) went to Mr. Ou's home frequently in March 2010 to harass him, sometimes as often as twice a week. They confiscated his personal belongings. When he accused the agents of taking things, they said, “The government allows us to steal.” He was even harassed before his death.
  • Ms. He Bigang from Loudi City, Hunan Province Persecuted to the Point of Mental Collapse

    On February 28th, 2001, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. He Bigang was arrested from her home by a group of police led by Wang Lina and Liang Hui from the National Security Team in Loudi City. She was later secretly sentenced to seven years by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and detained at Hunan Province Women's Prison. She was persecuted until she suffered a mental collapse. She was released on March 3rd, 2008, and she is still suffering from a mental disorder today.
  • After Being Sent to Forced Labour Twice Before, Mr. Zhang Jingzhou Now Sentenced to Five-and-a-Half Years

    Mr. Zhang Jingzhou has already been sentenced to forced labour camps twice before. During mid June 2011, he was again sentenced to five and a half years of imprisonment by a Hongshan District Court in Wuhan City. During the 12 years since the Communist regime launched its brutal suppression of Falun Gong and since Zhang refused to give up the practice, he was seized and detained and his house ransacked countless times. Mr. Zhang was sentenced to a total of three and a half years of forced labour twice and subjected to brainwashing. His wife divorced him because she was unable to bear the persecution.
