Hong Kong maintains blacklist of practitioners

LONDON, November 19, 2002 (European Falun Gong Information Centre) –Hong Yan, a Swedish Falun Gong practitioner, was travelling in the Far East for her own business (a travel agency). Yesterday she prevented from entering into Hong Kong.

She was previously denied entry into Hong Kong in June 2001 when Jiang Zemin visited the territory. This time she was denied entry again for no reason other than because she is a Falun Gong practitioner and she is on the Hong Kong black list.

She arrived in Hong Kong on flight CA109. When she handed in her passport, it only took two minutes before another customer officer came and took Hong Yan to another room and told her she was denied the entrance. When Hong Yan asked why, they said it from an order from the top as well as from the security services.

When Hong Yan asked to meet the security services, they said he was not working that day. When she asked: “How did you get this order to deny my entrance today since the security man is not at work? Do you have a black list to go after? Last time, when Jiang visited HK, I was denied entrance because Jiang was very much afraid of Falun Gong for his horrible deeds done to Falun Gong practitioners. What is the reason this time?” They couldn't answer.

Hong Yan was sent on flight CA116 with 12 policeman and policewomen. They had video-filmed her all the way to the plane.

Hong Yan can be contacted on: 0086 10-67171090

This incident shows that Hong Kong is still maintaining a blacklist of Falun Gong practitioners. Even when Jiang Zemin is not in Hong Kong, they still refuse law-abiding foreign nationals entry.

The European Falun Gong Information Centre has verified details of 513 deaths since the persecution of Falun Gong in China began in 1999. Government officials inside China, however, report that the actual death toll is well over 1,600. Over 100,000 have been detained, with more than 20,000 being sentenced to forced labour camps without trial.
