When Will These Two Girls Be Reunited with Their Parents?

Mr. Lu Yuebin and his wife are from Liufangzi Town, Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province. Mr. Lu worked for a coal mine. He worked hard, never fought with anyone, and his colleagues enjoyed working with him. The wife is very nice and is always willing to help others. Both of them practise Falun Gong and adhere to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Others consider them good people. The couple has two healthy and happy daughters. The elder daughter is studying out of town and the younger one studies at middle school.

In the past, their mother was very weak. After starting to practise Falun Gong, she became very healthy and more thoughtful. Mr. Lu witnessed his wife's dramatic physical and spiritual changes, and started to practise himself.

In 1999, Jiang Zemin , [former leader of China and instigator of the persecution] and the Chinese Communist Party started persecuting Falun Gong nationwide. Mr. Lu and his wife went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, in the hopes that the government would be able to recognize that Falun Gong is good. However, they were arrested and detained. Their two girls ended up having to be raised by their relatives.

The daughters waited day and night for their parents' terms of detention to end. Then, at approximately 9:00 p.m. on April 23rd, 2008, Wang Wenhui of Liufangzi Town Police Station and others from the Domestic Security Division of the Gongzhuling City Police Department secretly broke into Mr. Lu's home by prying open the door. They stole all of the family's valuables, including their TV, DVD player, a bank certificate worth 20,000 yuan, and over 4,000 yuan¹ in cash. The next day, Liufangzi station police went to Mr. Lu's home and confiscated a motorcycle and more items, including an alarm clock and umbrellas. To top it off, they changed the lock on the door and left.

To avoid being continually harassed and mistreated, the whole family left their home town. At their new location, the father works hard at his new job and the mother takes cares of other people's children to earn an income.

At approximately 6:00 a.m. on October 22nd, 2008, four people from the Domestic Security Division of the city police department, led by Wang Wenhui, went into the family's apartment on the seventh floor of their building. The policemen beat the father and arrested the couple. The younger sister tried to stop them, but she was lifted up and thrown from the living room into the kitchen.

After the parents were arrested, the older sister gave up her studies and rushed home. The younger sister was also forced to stop her studies. To find their parents, all they could do was cry at the gate of the police department. They wanted to meet the with director. Since they had no place to go, the police took them to the assistance and rescue centre at night.

On October 23rd, 2008, it suddenly turned cold. The two girls were still wearing their thin clothes and shivered in the cold wind. A kind guard secretly let them inside the building, but others didn't dare let them stay because they were afraid that they would be punished if the director learned about it. So the sisters had to wait outside in the chilly winter wind, waiting for their parents' release.

Later, the sisters were called to go to the appeals office. The agents there were vicious and told them that their parents disobeyed the law and were therefore detained. The sisters were ordered to sign a notice of detainment. The sisters told the agents that their parents became healthy after practising Falun Gong, that their mother previously played the game Mahjong a lot and neglected the family, but now she is considerate towards everyone. The girls emphasized that their parents had done nothing wrong, that Falun Gong is good, and that they should not be detained. They refused to sign.

Their strong will awoke people's consciences and kind thoughts. Many people in the police department who knew the truth showed sympathy for them. Some kindly brought them coats , others bought food, and still others prepared instant noodles for them. However, the sisters were worried about their parents' safety and couldn't eat the food. For three days and nights, they didn't eat. But they did not retreat and still remained at the police department. They were determined to rescue their parents.

The sisters' righteous actions finally moved people's consciences enough to produce results. On October 25th, 2008, the director of the police department, Wang Zhiqing, met with them. He was also moved by the sisters' words and actions. By now they had become noticeably thin. He called the personnel in charge and immediately approved the release of Mr. Lu to take care of his two children.

The sisters are still telling how the family has been mistreated to relevant personnel in hopes that their mother will also be released as soon as possible and they can all be reunited.
