The family of Ms. Cui Lixin, who has been detained in Zanhuang County (Shijiazhuang City) Detention Centre and has been in critical condition since June 22nd, 2007, has requested Ms. Cui's release. She has not been eating or drinking, has been vomiting blood and also has blood in her urine. Her mind has become unclear, and her life is in danger. Police officer Tan Jun, is in charge of her case at Yucai Street Station said, "We will not release her even if she is dead, because she practises Falun Gong."

Ms. Cui, 35, former employee of Shijiazhuang City Thermo Power Plant, was sentenced to four years in prison in 2000 because she appealed for justice for Falun Dafa. She served her term in Taihang Prison in Baoding City. She endured numerous tortures, and was dismissed by her employer.

After she was released in 2005, she found a job in a foreign company in Beijing. She is an electrical engineer, and is well-respected for her good character and technical skills.

On June 21st, 2007, police officer Tan Jun from Yucai Station led a group of officers to Ms. Cui's home. Her nine-year-old child was home alone. Police ransacked her home, took her computer, VCD player, printer, fax machine, 6,300 yuan1 in cash, and a bank card with a balance of 36,000 yuan. They threatened Ms. Cui's husband in order to make him tell them of his wife's whereabouts. They then arrested Ms. Cui at Shijiazhuang City Train Station when she was on a business trip. Ms. Cui's child was very frightened, had nightmares, and could not sleep. Ms. Cui's husband went back many times to ask for their cash and bank card, but Tan Jun refused to give them back.

On the morning of June 22nd, 2007, Ms. Cui began a hunger strike to protest the detention. Police officers stepped on her head, twisted her arms, and almost fractured a bone. Police tried to force her into a labour camp, but the camp rejected her due to her obvious injuries. Ms. Cui is now detained in Zanhuang County Detention Centre.

Ms. Cui's child was only two years old when she went to Taihang Prison, and now she is nine years old. Ms. Cui's mother just passed away, and her father and mother-in-law are distraught because of her mistreatment. Ms. Cui is very weak and could die at any time. Please help rescue her!
