Employees of Shengli Oilfield Shi Ning, Zhang Aiquan, Wang Mingyun,Yu Desheng, Zheng Ruihuan and Liu Yinglan were consecutively arrested. On March 23rd, 2007, Shi Ning was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment. On July 28th, 2006, Zhang Aiquan was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment, Wang Mingyun and Yu Desheng were sentenced to seven and a half years of imprisonment. On January 25th, 2006, Zheng Ruihuan, Liu Yinglan (husband and wife) were both sentenced to five years of imprisonment and are detained at Jinan City Prison in Shandong Province.

The Shengli Oilfield is located at Dongying City, Shandong Province. Between February 11th and 18th in 1994, Teacher Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa, was invited to give lectures there. In early 1999, nearly 10,000 people at the Shengli Oilfield practised Falun Gong. Practising the exercises and studying the Falun Dafa books enabled the practitioners to understand the real meaning of life. They strictly followed Falun Gong's teachings to be good people, conscientiously carried out their jobs, and helped others whenever they could. They played key roles in uplifting the society's moral standards.

Starting from July 20th, 1999, Jiang Zemin and other top Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials, fabricated rumours and lies to falsely charge and discriminate against Falun Gong and Falun Gong practitioners. Led by the head of the persecutors Lu Renjie, Shengli Oilfield authorities plotted with officials from the Binhai Police Department at the Shengli Oilfield to severely persecute Falun Gong practitioners. As a result, thousands of homes were ransacked and personal belongings confiscated. Thousands were detained, and nearly a hundred were sentenced to three years of forced labour. Several dozens were fired from their jobs. So far, the following six practitioners, Shi Ning, Zhang Aiquan, Wang Mingyun, Yu Desheng, Zheng Ruihuan and Liui Yinglan are still being persecuted in prison.

1. Falun Gong Practitioner Shi Ning

Shi Ning graduated from the Department of Computer Engineering at the China Petroleum University. She is an engineer in the Shengli Oil Field computer centre. In June 1999, Jiang Zemin, former leader of China and instigator of the persecution, went to the Shengli Oilfield. Shi Ning had planned to explain the facts about Falun Dafa to him but was detained for a month and later sentenced to three years of forced labour.

Shi Ning was incarcerated in the First Women's Labour Camp in Shandong Province where the guards ruthlessly tortured her. Two male guards used silent high voltage electric batons to shock her back and armpits for long periods of time. The guards also urged a gang of thugs to beat her for three days. She was frequently escorted to and detained privately at the Shandong Armed Police General Hospital in Shandong Province, to suffer from escalated persecution. As a result of the brutal tortures she weighed less than 30 kg [66 lb] while she used to weigh about 60 kg. Her kidneys were severely damaged.

On January 28th, 2004, Shi Ning and Xia Deyun went to the 610 Office1 at the Shengli Oilfield Refinery to see practitioner Wang Shaohua who had been detained there for a long time. Brainwashing Class head Xia Baocheng and agents from the Binbei Police Department arrested Shi Ning and also Xia Deyun who were escorted to the "610 Office" in the Shengli Oil Plant Transportation Company. Shi Ning started a protest hunger strike against the detention. She shouted, "Falun Dafa is Good!" She also exposed the crimes committed by Jiang's regime, by agents from the Shengli Oilfield "610 Office" and the brainwashing class. The "610 Office" head and the brainwashing class head were extremely fearful and thus tortured Shi Ning even more severely. Shi Ning's life was in peril. Fearing Shi Ning might die in custody, they sent her to Oilfield Hospital. The doctors told the policemen she had little chance to survive, so the policemen ran away. She survived but decided to go into exile to avoid further persecution. On October 15th, 2006, policemen in Yantai City began a sweep, looking for Falun Gong practitioners. Shi Ning happened to be in Yantai then and was also arrested and was first detained at the Binhai Hotel in the Wanguan Area, Laishan, Yantai City. The persecutors later transferred her to Linglong area in Zhaoyuan City and a few days later returned her to the Binhai Hotel. Shi Ning had been on hunger strike for nine days, but the guards there hung her up and beat her the entire time. She was finally sent to the Penglai City Detention Centre. On March 23th, 2007, the Laishan Court affiliated with the Yantai Court sentenced Shi Ning to eight years of imprisonment.

2. Falun Gong Practitioner Zhang Aiquan

Zhang Aiquan was a former third class police superintendent at the Shengli Oilfield Binhai Police Department's traffic team who had distributed Falun Gong materials in July 2000. Because of that, Binhai Police Department dispatched more than 40 policemen in over a dozen police vehicles to ransack Zhang Aiquan's residence. They also held Zhang Aiquan at the Shengli Oilfield Detention Centre for more than a month. He was put in shackles. The abusers transferred Zhang Aiquan to the Dongxin Oil Extraction Plant where his wife Wang Mingyun worked, and they compelled Dongxin Oil Extraction Plant personnel to escort Zhang Aiquan to the Wangcun Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province where he remained for three years.

In the afternoon of May 13th, 2005, officials from the Huantai County Police Department in Shandong Province collaborated with personnel from the Binhai Police Department, to closely follow Zhang Aiquan for several days. They confirmed that Zhang Aiquan had Falun Gong materials and copies of Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party 2 in his car. They arrested and held him in the Huantai County Detention Centre.

3. Falun Gong Practitioner Wang Mingyun

Wang Mingyun (Zhang Aiquan's wife) was formerly employed by the Monitoring Division at the Dongxin Oil Extraction Plant. In July 2000, after Binhai Police Department agents arrested Zhang Aiquan, his wife Wang Mingyun was also arrested and detained in the hotel affiliated with the Shengli Oilfield Survey Drilling Company for over a month. Following that incident, her company fired her from her job under the coercion from the lawless personnel at the Shengli Oilfield.

In the evening of May 13th, 2005, after arresting Zhang Aiquan, the government authorities ordered a gang of people to arrest her. They had stealthily climbed over Wang Mingyun's yard wall. They ransacked her residence, took her computer, her car and some other personal belongings.

4. Falun Gong Practitioner Yu Desheng

Yu Desheng was formerly employed by the Oilfield's Materials Company. Since the onset of the persecution on July 20th, 1999, Yu Desheng went to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. He also practised the exercises outdoors and gave people Falun Gong materials. Because of that, Binhai City Police Department agents detained him. He was sentenced to forced labour in November 2000 and imprisoned at the Wangcun Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province for three years.

Yu Desheng was arrested the morning of May 20th, 2005 at his job by officers from the Huantai County Police Department in Shandong, aided by Haibin Police Department personnel. At the same time his residence was ransacked; computer and car were confiscated as well as some other personal belongings, including copies of theNine Commentaries on the Communist Party were taken. On July 28th, 2006 the Huantai County court read the secret trial verdict for Zhang Aiquan and some other practitioners at the detention centre. Zhang Aiquan was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment, Wang Mingyun and Yu Desheng, seven and a half years.

5. Falun Gong Practitioners Zheng Ruihuan and Liu Yinglan (husband and wife)

Zheng Ruihuan and Liu Yinglan are both electrical engineers in the Jidong Oilfield, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. Because they practice Falun Gong, the CCP officials at the Jidong Oilfield threatened and persecuted them. The couple left home in 2002 and went to the Shengli Oilfield. They were arrested on July 8th, 2005. Participating in the arrest were agents from the Zibo City National Security Department in Shandong Province and those from the Shengli Oilfield Police Department. The couple were imprisoned at the Shengli Oilfield's Binhai Detention Centre and suffered from long-term tortures. On November 30th, 2005, Dongyin District Court in Dongying City put them on trial. On January 25th, 2006, Dongying District Court held the second secret trial and sentenced Zheng Ruihuan and Liu Yinglan to five years in prison. They were incarcerated at Jinan City Prison, Shandong Province.

Corrupt official Lu Renjie from Shengli Oilfield often went to the house of prostitutes. He assembled a group of thugs to not only personally persecute Falun Gong practitioners, but also set up a website that slandered Falun Gong. In addition, they bribed Zhao Xiucheng, Song Jin and Jia Xianglun to type materials for them and published books and magazines that discredited Falun Gong. Furthermore, they sponsored activities such as essay competitions, entertainment performances, and held exhibits. They threatened that the employees would lose their jobs if they did not write articles that slandered Falun Gong. They spread seed of hatred toward Falun Gong among people and incited and forced the general public to persecute Falun Gong.

Note

1. "The 610 office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.

2. Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party: Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party is a series of essays published in late 2004 that reveal the true nature of the Communist Party. The Nine Commentaries have led millions of people to renounce their membership in the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). "A book that has shocked all Chinese around the world. A book that is disintegrating the Communist Party." http://ninecommentaries.com
