Calling On the Graduates of Shanghai, Xian, and Hsin Chu Chiau Tung University to Help Release Detained Falun Gong Practitioners

I am a graduate of Shanghai Chiau Tung University. After finishing college education, I worked in Chiau Tung University. At the local Falun Gong practice site, I became familiar with a practitioner called Chu Yen Lai. I felt that he was a very reliable and righteous person. Now, it has been three years since I last saw him. I was shocked to learn that police kidnapped him because he practises Falun Dafa. He has suffered from brutal torturing, and this resulted in him being unable to walk properly. Taking a look at a photo of his peaceful and high-spirited face, I felt deep admiration for his bravery.

Since Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin began his brutal persecution of Falun Gong in July 1999, the Dafa practitioners in Shanghai Chiau Tung Universtiy have appealed for justice and told people the truth. They helped many people to see through the lies spread by the state-controlled media. So far, many of them have been unlawfully sentenced to brainwashing and forced labour.

Kuo Hsiao Chun, a teacher in the Computer Science Department, was unlawfully sentenced to five years of brainwashing (known by Jiang’s regime as “re-education”), while a graduate of the Computer Science Department, Li Chien Pin, was tortured to death. As overseas practitioners, we have to double our efforts to reduce the suffering of the practitioners in China and help obtain the release of the illegally imprisoned practitioners as soon as possible.

Here I would like to call on the graduates of Shanghai, Xian and Hsin Chu Chiau Tung University to help secure the release of Chu Yen Lai and other detained Dafa practitioners. We need overseas Chiau Tung University graduates to speak out and offer their support to end this ruthless persecution of innocent people.

I would also like to ask fellow practitioners in China to collect concrete evidence of the persecution of graduates from Chiau Tung University. This information would be helpful in obtaining the release of these practitioners. Also, please investigate the staff of the “610 Office [An agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems], the heads of all departments in Chian Tung University and others involved in the persecution. The names of those associated with the persecution can then be posted on the “Fawanghuihui” website [a website listing the names of all criminals taking part in the persecution of Dafa practitioners in China].
