According to the news reported in Epoch Times, early in the morning of October 22nd, Chicago was covered by dark clouds. In the airport, there was no welcoming ceremony organized by the U.S., but the Chinese Consulate gathered hundreds of people to welcome Jiang. Outside the airport, several welcoming groups of people organized by the Chinese Consulate held up supporting banners while awaiting the arrival. At that time, a big truck organized by Amnesty International China drove past the area. Banners on their truck read "Jiang Zemin: Scum of the Nation, Condemned through the Ages." The truck parked right in front of the welcoming groups. Those who were coerced into joining the welcoming groups put down their banners unconsciously after reading the facts about how Jiang sold out China displayed on the truck. In the end, the motorcade never did drive past that area.

At 10:15, a man from one of the welcoming groups was suspected of being a Falun Gong practitioner and was forcefully driven out of the team; the reason given was that there was a concern that people would speak out loud: "Falun Dafa is good" so that Jiang could hear it

At 10:38, Jiang's private plane arrived at the military airstrip of O'Hare Airport in Chicago. At almost exactly the same time, there suddenly appeared in the sky a strange cloud formed in the shape of a ghostly face. Two places in the airport suddenly caught on fire. All at once, there were police vehicles with flashing lights everywhere in the airport.

At 10:50, Jiang walked slowly off the plane; he left all the welcoming groups who had been waiting for him for over two hours in the cold wind, and hastily got in his special vehicle. The motorcade drove along Interstate 90 into the center of Chicago. The motorcade was followed by an ambulance. The truck from Amnesty International China was also driving along I-90. Along the way, there were 15 locations with Falun Gong practitioners who held up bright yellow banners that read: "Falun Dafa is Good!" and "Stop persecuting Falun Gong!", etc. The security police were in contact with Falun Gong practitioners and even encouraged them to open up the banners.

At 11:20 after the motorcade drove by, the sky above O'Hare Airport brightened again.
