At around 9:30 a.m., volunteers from the Minghui School appeared in the streets of Chinatown. They were busy blowing up balloons to decorate the main street. The children from Minghui School worked very hard and constructed three big arches crossing over the street with colourful balloons. The delightful sight brought an atmosphere of celebration to Chinatown.

The parade started at 2 p.m., with the teachers and students from the Minghui School participating. They carried banners reading, "Falun Dafa" and "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" in their hands. As soon as the parade team stopped walking, the younger children demonstrated the first set of exercises. Older children formed a dragon team and a drum team. They all wore yellow T-shirts with blue belts. Other Falun Dafa practitioners performed dances in costumes from the Tang Dynasty and demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises. The parade set out from the Chinese Association building, crossed many major streets of Washington DC and returned to the stage on H street.

At the dinner party after the parade, the organizers thanked and praised Falun Dafa practitioners many times. Invited by the host, a few female practitioners went up to the stage and sang the song "De Du." They wished everyone all over the world good fortune and "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance."
