A Zhuanghe City Court sentenced her to seven years in prison. She is imprisoned in Shenyang City Women's Prison and has become extremely weak due to severe persecution.

In Shenyang City Women's Prison, Ms. Song has been forced to work long hours and tortured both mentally and physically. She is very thin and her hair has turned white.

Around July 14th, 2011, Ms. Song developed appendicitis and was taken to the Shenyang City 739 Hospital in Liaoning Province for an appendectomy. As soon as the operation was over, the guard handcuffed her even though she was very weak. The guards extorted a thousand yuan1 from her brother, but when they tried to extort another three thousand yuan from Ms. Song's son, the family refused to pay.

Ms. Song’s family members asked the prison officials why a healthy person had been tortured to such a condition and requested that they release Ms. Song to recover at home. The prison officials refused their request.
