On January 21st, 2010, police from the Longfeng Police Department and officials from the Longfeng Street Residential Committee in Guangzhou City arrested Ms. Luo Liping. Later, she was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labour. By then, Ms. Luo had been detained at the Chatou Forced Labour Camp in Guangzhou City for almost six months.

It was reported that Ms. Luo and the Falun Gong practitioners at the labour camp were forced to do "homework." The camp guards gave them many kinds of strange questions. Any practitioner who could not give a satisfactory answer would be punished. Practitioners were forced to sit on stools from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Practitioners in the same room were not allowed to talk to each other. Any eye contact would be called. The camp guards also interrogated practitioners to try to find out the source of Falun Gong materials.

Due to the hot weather and long periods of forced sitting, Ms. Luo developed malignant sores on her buttocks. But the camp guards refused to give her any treatment. She was in extreme pain.

Many female practitioners from Guangzhou City are being detained at the Chatou Forced Labour Camp.
