The court in Miyi town, Sichuan Province announced its decision on September 3rd, 2009: Luo Shimei, Gao Longying, Zhang Zhenghuan, and Zhou Jianxian were sentenced to prison: Gao Longying for 5 years; Zhang Zhenghuan for 4 years; Luo Shimei for 3 years, and Zhou Jianxian for 2 years. Luo Shimei and three other Falun Gong practitioners were sent to Longquanyi Women's Prison of Chengdu in Sichuan for persecution.

Ms. Luo Shimei, thirty years old, lived in Majiaoqian village of Ekou town in Miyi county. On April 14th, 2009, Luo Shimei, Zhang Zhenghuan, Gao Longying and Zhou Jianxian distributed leaflets exposing the persecution and told people the facts about Falun Gong in Malong township, Miyi county. They were tracked by Miyi National Securities team lead, Yang Zihua, who ordered other policemen to arrest the practitioners. During the same night, Binggu policemen broke into and searched the homes of practitioners Zhang Zhenghua and Luo Shimei. The policemen broke down the door of Luo Shimei's home and took away her Falun Gong books and DVDs.

Since the Communist Party began persecuting Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Luo Shimei has been arrested five times. On May 12th, 2000, Luo Shimei went to Beijing to appeal. She was detained in the Beijing police station for one day, in the Beijing office of the Panzhihua police station for two days and two nights, and in the Miyi Detention Centre for one month. In July 2000, Luo Shimei was detained again by the Yaokou village government of Miyi for three days. She was subjected to brainwashing and not allowed to sleep. On December 17th, 2000, Luo Shimei was arrested and sent to a Forced Labour Camp for one year for passing out informational materials about Falun Gong. She then was sent to the Zizhounanmusi Women's Forced Labour Camp of Sichuan for further torture. On July 13th, 2002, she was arrested for no other reason than that she firmly believes in Falun Gong. She was sentenced to a Forced Labour Camp for two years.

After Luo Shimei returned home from the Forced Labour Camp, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) incited her husband to hate Falun Gong and practitioners and he divorced Luo Shimei. After the divorce, Luo Shimei was granted custody of their young daughter but she was not given any rights to the house or any of the land. Luo Shimei sold goods in the Miyi Binggu Farmer's Market to support herself and her daughter and they lived in a simple 10 square feet room.

On April 14th, 2009, Luo Shimei was arrested again. Her ten year old daughter has to survive with the support of relatives and other practitioners to pay rent and buy food. This little girl goes to school during day time and cooks after school. In the mornings, she rushes to have breakfast and then travels about five miles to her school. She does not usually have enough to eat and is not getting the nutrition she needs. Winter is here but she does not have winter clothes! Luo Shimei's daughter is broken-hearted, as she has lost the care of both her father and mother.
