Ms. Long Lihong, a Falun Gong practitioner from Lanshan, Hunan Province, was hoodwinked by the Lanshan police in 2008 and incarcerated at the Baimalong Forced Labour Camp in Zhuzhou City because she practises Falun Gong. She was subjected to one year of forced labour.

In July 2008, she was working in a clothing factory in Tongxiang City, Zhejiang Province. Because she explained the facts about Falun Gong, she was reported to the police by someone working in the same factory. A few police officers quickly came to the factory and took Ms. Long to the police station.

They interrogated her to find out if she had Falun Gong books or other Falun Gong-related things. When they found nothing on her, they could do nothing to her. They then went straight to the factory where she worked and ransacked her belongings. They even went so far as to drag one of her co-workers to the police station for interrogation. They could not come up with any evidence, so they took pictures of Ms. Long and also took her fingerprints against her will. Later they pretended and said, "Okay, that's all. You can go back to the factory. As long as you do your work properly, it will be fine."

Long Lihong was thinking during that time, "I did not do anything wrong." Thus, she really did not take the incident to heart. Unfortunately, the police ganged up with officials of the Lanshan 610 Office1, and one week later, Ms. Long was suddenly taken away by Tang Feng and other officers from the Nanshi Police Station, instigated by the 610 Office, and taken to Lanshan.

The Lanshan Domestic Security Team incarcerated and interrogated her. Then, officers Huang Xiaolan, Zeng Xianmin, and Wu Lingtao said to her, "Now we will send you home." However, they deceived her and took her instead to the detention centre and incarcerated her. On August 11th, officials from the Lanshan 610 Office took her to the Zhuzhou City Baimalong Forced Labour Camp.

During the first three months at the forced labour camp, those in charge used every imaginable means in an attempt to "transform2" her, simply for the sake of monetary gains and promotions. They promised two drug addict inmates that their terms would be shortened if they monitored Ms. Long around the clock. One inmate forced her to watch videos that slandered and defamed Falun Gong. They did not allow her to talk to anyone else. They also interfered with her daily activities such as washing clothes and dishes and going to the toilet. They rushed her and made her hurry up. If she did anything they were unhappy with, they physically and verbally abused her.

Besides all of this, sometimes during the day guards forced her to sit on a small bench for extended periods of time. At night, they deprived her of sleep and also had two collaborators3 keep repeating erroneous things into her ears all day long.

Three months later, she was transferred to the No. 1 group of the No.7 Division. The leader, in order to achieve her "transformation" quota, forced Ms. Long to do 10 hours of forced labour every day and also tortured her. They humiliated, verbally abused, and threatened her. They harassed her, saying, "You don't want your family, you don't take care of your husband and children." They threatened her, "If you don't 'transform,' we will intensify our methods, so don't even think of going home."

3. "Collaborators": former practitioners who have turned against Falun Gong under brainwashing and torture. They are then made to assist in brainwashing and torturing practitioners.
