“When Jiang Zemin Comes to Germany, Can I Ask an Uneasy Question to Him?”

Voices everywhere protesting against Jiang Zemin when he visited Germany

Thursday 11th April 2002

The Munich Branch of the International Human Rights Association gave a lot of help and support to the Australia residing artist, Zhang Cuiying, who displayed her exhibition of paintings, “The Windows of Soul” in Munich, Germany as she took her exhibition around the world. April 8th was the first day that the artist, who was persecuted for believing in Truthfulness, Benevolence and Forbearance, held the exhibition. It was also the first day the anti-human rights scoundrel Jiang Zemin went to Germany, and also happened to be the 30th founding anniversary of the International Human Rights Association. The Munich Branch particularly designed and printed posters, which say, “When Jiang Zemin Comes to Germany, Can I Ask an uneasy Question to Him?” and delivered them in Munich before the exhibition. The Munich locals thus realized the vice that the anti-human rights scoundrel Jiang Zemin had done. The activity echoed with the protests and appeals taken by Falun Gong practitioners in Berlin where Jiang visited.

The posters translation is as below:
From April 8th to 13th, the Chinese president, Jiang Zemin will visit Germany. Surely he wants to appear as the ally of the international anti-terrorism, so that other countries will trade with him. Politicians and businessmen might be eager to shake those “well-preserved” hands.
However, there is ample evidence for his abuse of human rights. Looting temples in Tibet, abusing criminals, dominant races colonizing lands, overly imprisoned convicts in force labor camps, executing show in the stadium for the crowds, closing the internet shop, arresting Christians, autocratic inspection and control of the media, etc. , which we cannot bear knowing.

The latest abuse is the issue of Falun Gong. When people dare to offend the Chinese communists, they appear especially over-reacted. For example, the event of the courageous spiritual movements happened in Changchun City in the northeast China on March 5th. The 40-50 mins Falun Gong program of exposing the truth overrode eight cable stations during prime time. This brave activity greatly shocked the dictatorship with a net of police, and absolutely drove him mad; he immediately launched a series of terrorist actions, such as arresting and secretly executing Falun Gong practitioners.

On the same day, 5th March, the police caught Ms Cho Lun-Jin (51 years old), Ms Li Yen-May (40 years old), who were suspected of staging this video event. According to the report, the police burst into the houses of Falun Gong practitioners, forcing them to jump down from the windows of tall buildings. Then, they announced to the public that these murders were suicides. The bodies were secretly incinerated, so that they could never be recognized. The officials uniformly issued the death certificates as “suicide.”

This inhuman brutal torture, brainwashing and murdering, are secretly planned by the “610 Office” in the school of agriculture in Sinlon-Sun city. It is said that the police have to accomplish the assignment of finding or catching five Falun Gong practitioners each day. This explains why the persecuted people are quite numerous.

The “610 Office” is a privileged institution founded particularly for persecuting the cultivators of Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa). Though Falun Gong has nothing to do with politics, the communist government is simply “frightened” for the great numbers of cultivators.

As a result, they decided to destroy Falun Gong with all means regardless of any price. As we still remember the experience in Munich, Bernhard Aurnhammer and Egon Knapen, and many peaceful protesters from other countries, arrested and beaten in Beijing in this February, it’s not hard to imagine the way the Chinese government treats the freedom of gathering.

What do other organizations do?

On April 9th, the Society for Threatened Peoples will sit in front of the office of the prime minister in Berlin until midnight for Jiang Zemin’s visit to Germany. They will symbolically accuse him of violating the agreement of anti-brutal punishments.

On March 15th, 2002, the London headquarters of Amnesty International have initiated urgent actions for rescuing the persecuted practitioners. They stated, “Frequent news reports have proved that a great numbers of the courageous followers of the Falun Gong spiritual movement were caught by the police in Changchun City of Jilin Province in northeast China. Amnesty International is extremely worried about the dangerous situation these victims are in. These Falun Gong followers may suffer from torture and brutal punishments.”

The organization “Human Rights Watch” has also passed through a document, 117 pages long, in early February, calling for releasing the practitioners of Falun Gong.
