New Zealand: Falun Gong Practitioners Sue Bo Xilai

New Zealand renowned human rights lawyer Ms. Carole Curtis is interviewed by a TV station in front of the Auckland High Court

Falun Gong practitioners in New Zealand, submitted a lawsuit to the Auckland High Court against former governor of Liaoning Province and current Chinese Commerce Minister Bo Xilai for crimes against humanity and genocide. The lawsuit was submitted on April 4th, 2006, with help of five local veteran human rights lawyers.

Lawyer Carole Curtis, expressed that she is helping with the case because she wants to provide moral support to Falun Gong practitioners. At the same time, she hopes to bring Bo Xilai to justice, and let more people know about Bo's and the Chinese Communist regime's crimes against Falun Gong.

TV, radio and major newspapers all covered the event. Hence, the people of New Zealand have learned that the upcoming visitor Bo Xilai is being sued in the High Court for participating in the persecution of Falun Gong.

On April 6th, 22 hours after Bo Xilai arrived in New Zealand, Falun Gong practitioners successfully delivered the summons and completed the legal procedure. This means that the lawsuit can move forward. Bo accompanied visiting Chinese official Wen Jiabao to New Zealand.
