A Non-Practitioner’s Sense of Justice is Awoken

I live in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. I want to speak out the truth, in fairness for Falun Gong. Jiang's regime already reported many stories about Falun Gong via national TV stations, radio stations and newspapers. Previously, although I was not quite convinced by their reports, I did not get a clear image about Falun Gong either. Qigong has been spread in China for dozens of years and even I myself had practiced a few kinds of Qigong before. Nobody heard that if someone practiced Qigong, he or she would commit suicide or murder of his/her parents. [This is one of the deceitful lies spread in the State-controlled media propaganda campaign against Falun Gong] But I had not thought about this issue further. Falun Gong practitioners also argued that the persecution of Falun Gong is wrong because they practiced their cultivation following the principle of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance". Practitioners just want to be better people. Their cultivation practice would be beneficial to all the people of the world. They also stated that all of those twisted stories such as suicide, murder, not taking medicines for curing illnesses, self immolation, etc. spread via national propaganda were actually a series of fake incidents. These cases have been created upon the government's demand to fabricate charges against Falun Gong and that the government also attempted to use these incidents to instigate hatred against Falun Gong practitioners.

It seemed to me each side stuck to their own argument. I did not truly care which side was correct until one day when the following happened to me.

On February 1, 2001, I went to the Harbin Train Station to see off a friend. It was expected to be a happy day, but I could not really feel happy. At the train station, the police placed a picture of Mr. Li Hongzhi on the ground near the check-in boarding entrance to the southbound trains. The police asked every passenger to step on the picture. This despicable method was an attempt to distinguish Falun Gong practitioners from passengers. This way the police could catch practitioners who might go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong.

It was heard that the police just followed the orders from their superior authorities. They all knew that virtuous practitioners would rather die than trample their teacher's pictures. Although I was not a practitioner, I also refused to step on Mr. Li's picture. Immediately a few policemen came over to me and dragged me out of the check-in line. They asked me, "Are you a Falun Gong practitioner?" I was so angry at that moment that I told them, "What if I am a practitioner?" Then they detained me and interrogated me. I kept arguing with them. These policemen understood that justice was not in their side. Finally they released me out of consideration for my 70 years of age.

When I went back home, I talked about this incident in the train station to my family members. All of them felt very angry. They said, "Our country has almost been destroyed because of the corruption and atrocities of Jiang's regime. Instead of doing good things for people, the officers have focused their attention on brutally persecuting Falun Gong. When they were unable to find any other ways to prevent those practitioners going to Beijing, they took such a despicable way, one that has never been used in history, to deceive people and violate people's true wishes. The immoral acts implemented by the government will bring disasters to people."

China has been famous for her long history of civilization. But today in this land, a government has been used to do these scoundrel-like things. It is truly the Chinese people's disaster. Wake up, everybody! Please do not be deceived by those lies and twisted stories any more! Please get together to support Falun Gong!
