Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Zemin was a retired employee of Anqiu City Light Industry Machinery Factory located in Shandong Province. Because he kept his faith in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," his employer mistreated and persecuted him. Long-term persecution led him to lose his regular cultivation environment, and both his mind and body were severely damaged. Doctors discovered liver cancer in March 2004 and he died on August 9th 2004.

Mr. Li Zemin, 68, had all of his illnesses cured after practising Falun Dafa in 1997. Jiang Zemin and his regime began the inhumane persecution of Falun Gong practitioners who uphold "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." Because of the persecution, factory Security Office Head Dai Yongjie and factory administrator Xian Baohai mistreated Mr. Li Zemin. Multiple times they went to Mr. Li's home to harass him and his family, and to scare them into giving up cultivation. They had his son and daughter fired from their jobs at the factory, and forced them stay at home to watch their father every day, not allowing him to even step outside. Mr. Li's son was even arrested by police and extorted of five thousand yuan (1).

Such pressure and persecution caused Mr. Li to lose his regular cultivation environment, and it undermined his cultivation of Falun Dafa. The persecution damaged him both mentally and physically, causing his health to deteriorate. Doctors found liver cancer, and he was operated on twice. He took up studying the Falun Dafa books and doing the exercises again upon release from the hospital, but his health was so poor that he died on August 9th 2004.
