Lu Hongfeng, only 36-years-old, was the Vice-Principal of No. 1 Elementary School of Lingwu City and also the Director of Educational Administration. Lu Hongfeng had been recognized as the outstanding, model teacher of the whole district and had also won many city level advanced awards and distinctions. In 1996, the City Educational Committee made an exception and promoted Lu as the elementary school high-ranking teacher. Lu Hongfeng was forcibly sent to the local mental hospital for insisting on speaking the truth about Falun Gong. After being fully tortured with drugs, Lu passed away on September 6, 2000.
