In order to support the lawsuit against Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin, Israeli Falun Gong practitioners have peacefully appealed opposite the Chinese embassy in Tel Aviv several times over the past month. Practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts and practised the Falun Gong exercises. Many people were attracted by the display boards and signed the petitions calling for an end to the severe persecution of Falun Gong in China and for the immediate release of illegally detained Dafa practitioner Xiong Wei, who is suffering in a labour camp in China. Some also wanted to learn more about Falun Gong.

On April 22nd, Israeli practitioners were invited to the Ukraine Embassy for a meeting with the Councillor for Political Affairs, Mr. Alexander Levchenko. Practitioners talked with Mr. Levchenko about the Jiang regime’s persecution of Dafa practitioners. During the discussion, Mr. Levchenko stated that such severe human right violations, like those taking place in China, cannot be tolerated. He assured practitioners that all materials he has received from Falun Gong practitioners and a report about this meeting will be sent to the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On the same date one of Israel’s two leading newspapers, Yediot Aharonot, published an interview with a Falun Dafa practitioner. His dramatic personal story touched the readers and led many of them to want to find out more about Falun Dafa. People also called practitioners and asked where they can find the main book of Falun Dafa, Zhuan Falun.

During April, Israeli practitioners were invited to hold exercises demonstrations and workshops at festivals such as the New Age Festival in Tel Aviv and the World Tai Chi Day celebrations in Jerusalem.
