Falun Gong practitioners in Finland held activities in front of the Chinese Embassy and in the busy Kamppi shopping district in Helsinki on December 10, 2023, International Human Rights Day. They called for an end to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong.

Practitioners lit candles in front of pictures of fellow practitioners who had died from the CCP’s persecution. Display boards and posters around their activities exposed the CCP’s atrocities of harvesting organs from living practitioners in China. Three Falun Gong practitioners sang songs to call for public support.

Marko, a local resident, carefully read the posters and took pictures of them. He said he was angered by the large-scale organ harvesting crimes in China and was surprised by the silence on the topic from Western media.

A woman named Päivi told a practitioner that she was a member of Amnesty International and regularly received information about the CCP’s human rights violations. Upon hearing about the CCP’s atrocities against practitioners, Päivi was saddened by the severity of the persecution. She signed the petition and said she hopes practitioners will get many more signatures.
