“People all over the world should sign to oppose such persecution”

To mark International Human Rights Day, (December 10, 2023) Falun Dafa practitioners held an activity at La Défense Square in Paris on December 7, 2023. They told people how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecutes the spiritual discipline in China, and collected signatures on a petition calling to stop the brutality.

La Défense is the financial center of Paris. Many people came out of the surrounding office buildings at around noon to have lunch. When they saw practitioners demonstrating the Falun Dafa exercises, many were curious and talked to them. They were shocked and appalled upon learning that practitioners in China were being persecuted by the CCP for peacefully meditating and following the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Many signed a petition calling to end the persecution.

Cedra, an architect, signed the petition after learning about the CCP’s organ harvesting from living Falun Dafa practitioners in China. He said, “The persecution is against humanity. They (CCP) do not respect life, which is very sad.” He said that human beings should not reach this point, and that there must be a solution to eliminate this kind of persecution, which cannot be allowed to continue.

Laure works in real estate management. She said, “(The Chinese Communist Party) organ harvesting from living persons is too cruel. This is a terrorist act. It must be stopped, completely stopped!” She said that the situation we live in currently keeps getting worse. Falun Dafa practitioners do only good deeds, and do not disturb others. Carrying out bloody killing of these good people by the CCP is terrifying, and it still avoids this matter (internationally). The media doesn’t report it, and people in France don’t know about it. She was indignant about this. She said, “I signed the petition. Every French person must sign, and people all over the world should sign to oppose such persecution.”

Béatrice, who is retired, explained that she traveled around China for three weeks and saw surveillance cameras everywhere. She said Chinese people are constantly monitored, which makes her sad. She said she knew that China is governed by a dictatorship, and that it was terrible for a dictator to have sole power. She hopes that Falun Dafa practitioners persevere, and one day this situation will change.

Lily (alias) is originally from Shanghai and is in her 80s. A practitioner told her that more than 400 million Chinese people have already withdrawn from the CCP and its affiliated organizations, and explained this as a spiritual awakening for China. Lily joined the Communist Youth League and Young Pioneers decades ago, but thought her membership was automatically voided after she turned 25. The practitioner reminded her that everyone who joined any Party organizations raised their fist and swore an oath to uphold the CCP. Thus, to remove the oath, one must declare their withdrawal on the Epoch Times website. Lily immediately asked the practitioner to help her withdraw from the CCP. She praised practitioners for offering Chinese people hope, and said it was great.
