Eleven Practitioners, Including Three In Their Eighties, Who Died as a Result of the Persecution in Hebei Province

Mr. Wang Shaodong went to appeal in Beijing and was arrested. He suffered from beatings, torture and mental abuse. The torture caused him to have a mental breakdown. After he was released, he resumed his Falun Dafa practice and basically recovered. In 2001, he was on a train when the police searched him against his will. They found a Falun Gong book and detained and tortured him again. His just-recovered mental status could not bear another round of abuse and he again suffered a breakdown. Additionally, he was diagnosed with lung cancer. In November 2003, Mr. Wang Shaodong passed away. -
Elderly Mr. Zhu Xianghe from Jiangsu Province Beaten to Death in County Brainwashing Class
2005-05-1264 year old Mr. Zhu Xianghe was abducted and sent to a brainwashing class because he refused to give up his belief in Falun Dafa. He was beaten to death only five days later on April 19, 2005. Witnesses who saw his body said his fingers and toes had turned black, his eyeballs and his internal organs had been removed, a truly horrific sight. His son, placed under great pressure by local officials, said his father's body had only lost some internal organs and that the eyes were not removed. Police said he died from natural causes, but it is clear that they are trying to cover up the truth. -
Masanjia Forced Labour Camp Authorities Torture Ms. Li Baojie to Death and Force Her Family to Quickly Cremate the Body
2005-05-12On April 8, 2005, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Baojie was persecuted to death by authorities at the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. After her death, the perpetrators forced Ms. Li Baojie's family to quickly cremate her body in order to try to avoid responsibility. Due to an enormous amount of pressure, her family gave in and cremated her body on April 15, 2005. -
Qingdao City Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Song Jinlai Arrested Again; Her Father Dies Under Tremendous Mental Pressure
2005-05-12In November 2004, when Ms Song Jinlai was exposing the persecution about Falun Gong, she was arrested and sent to a brainwashing class to be persecuted. At that time, her parents not only had to bear the pain of being separated from their daughter, they also had to tolerate harassment and threats from the local authorities. Her father, who had lived in fear and anxiety, fell ill. He finally passed away in grief and despair, leaving his wife and daughter behind. -
Three Ladies from Liaoning and Shandong Provinces Die as a Result of Persecution
2005-05-1272 year old Ms. Zhang Guizhen was cured of diabetes and heart disease since starting to practise Falun Dafa. In 1999, because she introduced Falun Gong to other people, approximately eight policemen broke into her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books. Police tried to forced her to write a guarantee statement to stop practising. Although she refused the authorities continued to harass her. Her diabetes came back and her eyesight began to fail. She passed away on September 5, 2004, -
Thirteen Practitioners, Including Ten Elderly, from Shandong, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia and Other Provinces Died Because of the Persecution
2005-05-1062 year old Ms. Cui Tong went to Beijing to appeal in April 1999. After returning home, she was harassed, threatened, and had her home-searched by police officers many times. She was also sent to a brainwashing session after which she was left blind in one eye and suffered urinary incontinence because of the constant threats. Police officers forced her family to pay 1,000 yuan before releasing her. She was forced to leave home for about one year to avoid further persecution. When she started to feel unwell, she was diagnosed with late-stage lung cancer. She passed away at the end of September 2004. -
Circumstances Surrounding the Disappearance of Several Falun Dafa Practitioners
2005-05-10Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yu Chunhua, 50, was resident in Shandong Province. In September 2000 she walked for 19 days to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. When she reached Beijing, she was forcibly taken back to her hometown by the police and unjustly detained for two weeks. She was then released. She was again arrested on her way to Beijing to appeal shortly after and viciously tortured. On her third attempt to appeal she left home on January 17, 2001, and to this day she has not returned, and her whereabouts are unknown. -
Ms Sun Chuilian and Ms Liu Tongling Tortured to Death in 2003 at the Heilongjiang Women's Forced Labour Camp
2005-05-09Ms. Liu Tongling was fifty-two years old. She worked at Daqing Oil Refinery Plant in Heilongjiang Province. She was sent to the Heilongjiang Women's Forced Labour Camp in October of 2003. During more than a month of detention she was ruthlessly beaten up and subjected to tortures, including electric shocks, force-feeding and exposure to extreme cold. In November of 2003, Ms. Liu died on the "iron chair" in the basement. She did not have trousers or socks on when she died. -
85-Year-Old Ms. Chen Xiulan Died in 2002 As A Result of Being Beaten by Police in 1999
2005-05-09Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Chen Xiulan, 85 years old, lived in Huimin County, Shandong Province. She was severely beaten by the police when she went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. Ms. Chen was so traumatised by her Beijing trip that she did not speak a single word after returning home. The violent beatings were obviously a nightmare to her. One day she fell on the floor while trying to get out of bed and broke both of her hips. She never got up after that. After two years of suffering, she died in 2002. -
Missing Female Falun Gong Practitioner from Shandong Province May Have Been Murdered by the Police
2005-05-09Ms. Gao Deyan, 41, is suspected dead as a result of the persecution. At the time her husband was arrested in 2001 for practising Falun Dafa, she went missing, never to be seen again. An eyewitness report of someone who accidentally found Gao Deyan's body said, " in the summer of 2001, I saw a woman wearing colourful clothing, walking with a bike in her hand. The woman saw three plainclothes police. She dropped the bike and started to run. Three days later, I found her body floating in the water. I reported this to the police. Her body was buried a few days later." -
Ms. Jiang Jieyu from Sichuan Province, Died from Torture at Forced Labour Camp
2005-05-0950 year old Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Jiang Jieyu went to Beijing twice to peacefully appeal for Falun Gong and was persecuted many times. When she was incarcerated in the Zizhong County Nanmusi Women's Forced Labour Camp, she suffered various brutal tortures including injections that damage the central nervous system. The authorities did not send her home until she had been tortured to brink of death and was unconscious. She died in late 2003. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Mrs. Guo Lifang from Xiangtan City, Hunan Province Tortured to Death; Mr. Cheng Zhiming and Mr. Li Wenming Also Died from Persecution
2005-05-08On March 31, 2005, three people broke into 54 year old Mrs. Guo Lifang home. They found a copy of the book, Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party on the table, and as a result, they questioned Mrs. Guo closely about its source. The police immediately detained her at the local Detention Centre and tortured her there to extort a confession from her. She suffered from horrendous torture, and from then on, her family members never heard from her. On April 17, several strangers broke into Mrs. Guo's home suddenly, saying that she had died. In only two weeks, Mrs. Guo, a very healthy person, was detained for no reason and tortured to death! -
65 Year Old Ms. Gao Xizhen Died in January 2005 As a Result of the Persecution
2005-05-08In October 2003, Ms. Gao Xizhen was reported to the police while posting Falun Dafa leaflets exposing the persecution. The police arrested her and beat her until she suffered bleeding in her brain. She passed out, but the police did not take her to the hospital for treatment. Instead they drove her to her house, dragged her in a semi-conscious state and robbed her of more than 1000 yuan. Her family sent her to the hospital where they found that Ms. Gao had blood clots in her brain. Since the injury, Gao Xizhen often lost her memory or passed out and fell to the floor. On the afternoon of January 23, 2005, she passed out again but never regained consciousness. -
Three Older Practitioners from Hebei Province Die as a Result of Persecution
2005-05-08In October 2002 59 year old Mr. Wang Xiaoshan was arrested for the second time. After seven months of torture at a detention centre, he was sent to a forced labour camp. In early 2005, Mr. Wang experienced heart failure from the horrifying abuse he suffered, and was released on medical parole on February 6. Later, he was arrested again, and was released only after paying a 1,000 yuan fine. For an impoverished family that has endured persecution for many years, 1,000 yuan was a large amount of money. Wang Xiaoshan passed away on March 27, 2005. -
Thirteen Falun Dafa Practitioners Died in the Persecution
2005-05-07Miss Zhang Zheng, 14 years old, was a middle school student in Anhui Province. She was a good student with high morals. She went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong and was unjustly sent to a forced labour camp. During her detention, her home was ransacked and searched several times. She was frightened and under intense pressure. She was not allowed to continue doing the Falun Gong exercises or study any Falun Gong books. In November 2000, she showed symptoms of leukemia and died in February 2001.
